England vs. Scotland
If you were building a team using playground rules, and throwing all of the players from both countries into the pool and picking one by one, a case could be made that only Andy Robertson would be picked from Scotland out of the first 20 players selected.Β That gives an idea of the talent disparity between these two squads, but better talent does not necessarily generate better results.Β
England was not very effective against Croatia in the first game, and managed just one goal and one other big opportunity in the entire game.Β In my opinion they need Grealish starting, and even though Sterling scored, I really donβt rate him very highly at all.Β It seems to me Kane is starving for service and you need to get your talisman the ball on a more regular basis.Β Foden and Mount are terrific, but both are so young, I think you may be better served just starting one or the other.Β Either way, the English side is debated fiercely worldwide as itβs proliferated with some of the biggest and most familiar names in all of soccer.Β What I will say is for all the talent, they donβt seem to get it done on a regular basis.
What you can expect out of Scotland is a well organized, tough team to crack through.Β They will run all over the pitch, offer maximum effort, and donβt fall asleep on them as Robertson and McGinn are more than capable of creating chances.Β Che Adams did not start the first game, but heβs scored against the likes of Man City and Chelsea, so heβs certainly capable of finishing.Β McTominnay is a destroyer in the mf, but the back line is just so-so, although bolstered by the return of Tiernney today.Β And in case you missed the first game, the gk may be a bit positionally challenged at times.
This is bound to be a fierce match between the neighboring countries and donβt think we will not have a lively crowd in this one.Β IMHO, England needs to make a statement here against the weakest team in the group.Β Odds are very heavily favored in Englandβs favor, so no value in the outright win.Β Iβd normally play England tt o1.5 but at -170, way too steep.Β England on the -1.5 at evens is fair, but Iβm going to play this one a bit more conservatively because to be honest, England has not been scoring for fun at all, so a 1-0, 2-1 game is quite a likely result, so Iβll play England -1.25 (-125) 1.25 to make 1.00
Gβluck if playing
