“Squeaky Wheel” games on tap? (1 Viewer)

Deebo Samuel - tweeted/deleted, Purdy came out & said he’d pepper him with passes if he could… anything there? Deebo feature game coming up? Or nothing to see here?

AJ Brown - in the past when he’s whined about the passing game, he becomes a pass funnel for that offense. Will it happen week 15?

Any other WR I’m missing?

Yes. AJB for sure is going to have a monster game.
He’s the one I have confidence in of the two. History says whenever ANB starts whining, he gets fed.

Deebo, I’m not so sure about.
Brown makes sense too, because the Steelers weakness on defense is CB. This would be a good week to finally get that PA game going in Philly.

ETA: Not that he complained about it, but I would bet Tee Higgins is a focal point after Chase's monster week, especially after Burrow's comments about wanting to get him to stay a Bengal.

Ooh, that’s a good one. I didn’t put that together, but I think you’re spot on. I could see a Higgins get right game.

3 of his last 4 games were pretty solid. This one feels like an anomaly.

Nice thread idea. Of course, I’m running Jauan Jennings out there on Thursday in one league, so leave it for this week to be the week Deebo gets peppered with targets.

Philly seems determined to stay on brand and pound the rock and stay conservative no matter what the D, but I'd think this is a grand opportunity to take some shots. PIT D tough against the run, but has been more leaky against the pass.

And since I'm facing AJ Brown in round 1 I fully expect an awakening.

I'd sure love to see Deebo get into the act because I'm also facing J. Jennings and Kittle!

Haven’t heard about Jayden Reed whining but I wouldn’t be surprised if his being overlooked in this past week’s game was noted behind closed doors and corrected for

LaFleur was asked directly about getting Reed more involved so it is a topic of conversation in Packerland. Gave a non specific answer that suggested they may have him run more routes on the outside

I don't think Shanahan is the type of coach to get Deebo touches just because he wants them. I could see Sirianni doing so with Brown, but not just because of Brown's comments, but the fact that he's the alpha dog in the receiving room.

In context, I think the idea behind having Reed run more routes out wide was to keep him on the field in 12 personnel. Which is great, but I'm not certain that he gets specifically targeted with those extra routes.

Deebo has been out of my lineup for 3 weeks now in favour of such luminaries as MVS as an example and he ain’t going back in until he puts up a good game. There are plenty of WRs even on most wires that have a chance of putting up better scores than Deebo across the last month.

I have both Deebo & Jennings in one league.

I’m a huge underdog (7-seed facing 2-seed) in a very flexy format. I need at least 3 WR from Jennings, Deebo, TMc, Pittman, & Mooney. I need at least 2 WR from Conner, Hall, Stevenson.

It’s mandatory start 2 TE, TE-P. So at most I can go 3/4 or 2/5. Right now I’ve got RS, Hall, Conner, and Pittman, TMc, Mooney, & Jennings.

If Hall is out I can go with Mac Jones, or (gulp) Tommy Tremble. Obviously I’d rather start Deebo in that case, but naturally that game is on TNF.

But like you, I’m hesitant to roll out Samuel in a critical 1st round playoff game. Mac’s floor is probably about the same as what I’ve been getting from Deebo lately.

With my luck Deebo will go ham on my bench & Jennings will lay an egg in my lineup.

Anyway, back to the squeaky topic.

I definitely can buy the squeaky wheel stuff in Deebo’s favor. But I just can’t sit him for Mooney, Thielen and Nabers. Even though those guys aren’t world beaters, they have been outscoring Deebo regularly. I also got cute last week and started NWI so I don’t think i should do it again.

Getting cute: starting Deebo because of this narrative.

Being cute: Sincere in my flex over Deebo.

You worded this as if it was hard to sit Deebo for those guys - maybe I’m wrong, but I feel like you meant to say it would be hard to BENCH any of those guys for Deebo.

Yes?

In PPR I’d have no issue sitting Sincere for Deebo. But that’s mostly because I don’t trust the raiders offense.

I mean it’s hard to start Deebo over them.

I dunno. Thielen has been on a roll, but Nabers is nursing an injury & has DeVito behind center, and Cousins has been rough the last couple weeks. Sincere is a pretty small sample size.

They all feel kinda coin flipping vs Deebo to me.

Agreed.

Im starting Deebo. But I think you have better options.

Yes this is what I meant.

Higgins didnt play great. Had a bad drop and struggled to get separation. He isnt due anything other than a kick up the ***.

Deebo was a clear sell-high this offseason. Injuries + play style = not a good aging combo. I'd never have guessed he'd perform this way with Aiyuk and CMC out all year :crying:

Deebo is a kick returner now... by far his best plays of the night. He was a liability on offense - drops, penalties, mistakes... ugh.

Never said he did, but he's played great this season though, his best to date when he's been on the field, so not worried about him at all. Along those same lines, not worried at all about Cooper Kupp who 100% fits this category next week, and maybe Jauan Jennings too.
