Noice.  Betis hold out for the scoreless draw in Madrid.  Now to take care of business tomorrow in Bilbao.  Barca at Villarreal, which isn't an easy out either. Tough matches all around this weekend.

What a brutal red card against West Ham. No idea how he came to that decision.
The announcer was interviewed afterwards and was hilarious.  Paraphrasing...That card ruined the game for me.  Actually isn't wasn't a good game to begin with, but that made it worse.

He stopped commenting for awhile during the game he was so miffed.

its amazing to look back at what was allowed when Andy and I played... slide-tackle from behind through the man- sure, why not. play on.

now they can't even kick the ball fairly without worrying about where their foot ends up. red card?! wtf. players have to levitate now, apparently.

MLS favoritism:

Pretends to Forget Inter Mia broke rules while fast tracking Higian to MLS.

Pretends to care Inter MIA breaks rules

MIA draws opener last week

Union tonight up 1-0 and dominating don't get a foul go their way that was obvious Inter get possession and questionable foul. Fedrico Higuian on the ensuing Free Kick gets it to brother Gonzo who scores. tied at 1 now in the 76'.

MLS in a nut shell sometimes

For those who didn't click the linky here's the statement:

If memory serves, it was a butcher who took out the brilliant Marco Van Basten which made FIFA sit up and say "hmm this may not be great"

I want to ask for this pun exchange to end, but a I also don’t want to be seen as a killjoy. It’s quite the pickle.

Juve down 1-0, which is what they get for not starting Weston. If the result holds and Napoli win tomorrow, Juve fall into the Europa spot.

4 matches in to the Heinze era and we look like a totally different side already.  20k fans at the stadium last night - was great to be back.
I mentioned something similar in the US thread.  Sosa is a wonderful player and a big addition.  If Martinez returns to close to form, they are going to go far this year, solid players all over the field.

Sosa has been great in his start to the season.    So composed on the ball - something we’ve been missing since Nagbe left.

Got it - Bello has started the season well, Robinson is too inconsistent- was responsible for the Fire’s goal last night.  Lennon - we did the USMNT a favor there.
That was not the point per say.

The Olympic team was already missing Pulisic, Sargent, Adams, McKennie, Dest, Musah, Weah, Dike, Reyna, Antonee Robinson, Richards, De LA Tore, Aaronson, McKenzie, EPB, Cannon, Reynolds and many others.

We were already super deep into the age group's depth and losing the Atlanta players hurt as Robinson for one would have been a sure starter.

I know, I wasn’t clear but that’s why I said not releasing Lennon was a plus - implying the others were not.

Have I mentioned how much I HATE FC Barcelona??

Atlético collapse and lose in Bilbao.  Barça only 2 back with a game in hand.  Only a win in Camp Nou will do now.  Good luck, jagoffs, you're gonna need it after sucking so bad since January. 🤬
Even Sevilla still has a chance.

France also crazy going into the last few rounds.

A chance to get 4th place... AGAIN.  But mathematically, yes, you're right.  I'm just pissed that Barça despite being not all-world like they used to be simply aren't dropping points.

You know FCB will win la liga and Real will win CL.  Atleti might even end up 3rd in la liga and Sevilla 4th. JUST LIKE EVERY SEAON

There is a term for that:  Spursy.

Why do you bother following it?

Barcelona's switch to 3-5-2 has allowed it to better control the game against less talented sides, but they still struggle mightily playing anyone near their level without a #9. May 8th looms large.

I get your frustration because I do agree that both Barcelona and Real Madrid are pretty far away from their quality in recent years. Atletico has not been able to stay consistent in 21.

Daniel James is a fine player but not good enough to be in the starting XI, IMO.

And yes, this is my attempt to reverse jinx him in to scoring a goal.
He is good in space going forward.  He is not someone you want to play a ball to in traffic or with his back to the goal.  He also looks to have a lack of confidence going forward toward goal lately.

You won’t see a more entertaining 0-0.  Game deserved a goal.
I was actually happy to see MU match Leeds intensity for a full 90.  Couple of chances that on a better day go in, but all in all very entertaining.
