Granted 1.01 through 1.03 will probably be LJ, Alexander and LT2 in no particular order. But here is the million dollar question. Who do you take at 1.04? Portis has to rehab his shoulder and Barber may be spelled more (especially at the goalline) by Jacobs (I'm not as worried about Eli passing more as that could be a wash with Barber getting more receptions). How about a dark horse like Peyton, Ronnie Brown, Steven Jackson, Edge, or, dare I say, even Reggie Bush? What are your thoughts?

Steven Jackson . . .

The Jacobs situation isn't news. He replaced Tiki at the goal line last year and pilfered several scores. If anything, that keeps Tiki fresh and extends a career longer than any 30+ year old back has a right to.With Portis out, Tiki is the consensus #4. After that, it's the Edge/Brown/Rudi/SJax logjam - all with considerable questions and none of which seem like a slam dunk.

Good perspective from a Giants fan. Thanks! :goodposting:

Good luck. I'm honing in on Edge at #5 in one league and Steven Jackson (at #5) in another. And I'm confident in neither!

Thanks. With the G-men's entire O-line back that gives Tiki an edge. Good luck to you too.

Not so fast guys. Yes jacobs stole TD's last year, but this year he has learned to lower his pads more and should be more of a threat. Last year Tiki still got some goal line carries and I don't expect as much this year from Tiki for goal line work. In normal 1 for 10 yardage leagues Tiki will still be really good, but in high TD leagues, Jacobs will be good for 10 TD's IMO.

I'm bouning back and forth between Tiki and SJax right now. Those are really the only choices that I'm considering. Portis is too risky IMO with the shoulder injury that could cause problems all season.

I see Tiki as the better back now with downside (Jacobs, age, etc). SJax is a little behind currnently with upside.

While running my mocks I always seem to end up with a stronger team when drafting Tiki though. One thing to take into consideration if you have two people ranked evenly, is that SJax is on bye week 7. There are 6 teams on bye that week, so you could run into considerable problems when trying to take bye-weeks into effect during your draft.

RBs on bye same week as SJax: JLewis, TJones/CBenson, RBush/Duece, Gore/Barlow, CBrown/LWhite

RBs on bye same week as Tiki: Denver Bell (take your pick), WParker, Caddy

I have some guys in the former list that I'm targetting as value plays in later rounds, so that can cause problems. The guys from the second list either won't be around or aren't on my radar, so that won't be an obstacle when drafting.
