It certainly matters in my league. Last season, I scored over 2,000 pts & missed the postseason by 2.3 pts.For all the naysayers, I have to add that the best team in my league has the Bears D and K which has him eeking out W after W. So, in hindsight, the K and D do matter, but who the H was going to preseason knowing that Robbie Gould would be leading the NFL in kicking?!?Gould 06=Racker 05, so far anyway
The reason we draft kickers late is not because they don't matter, it's because they're so difficult to predict. In my main league...It certainly matters in my league. Right. I wasn't talking so much about where you draft these guys, but more about staying on top of things even if they are the "lesser" positions. If you can pick up a hot kicker like Gould or maybe a TE like Owen Daniel, it could be the difference in having a successful season or not. Gould's outscoring kicker #2 in my league by about 2 pts per game. See my previous post for how much difference that can make. The reason we draft kickers late is not because they don't matter, it's because they're so difficult to predict. It certainly matters in my league.
