Bears fan here....what jumps out to me here is the lack of STUD WRs the Bears have faced since the beginning of the year.

Very interested, given that S.Smith torched them in the playoffs last year.

To me it looks like this list has quite a few studs.Driver, Chambers, D-Jax, Roy, Boldin, Plax.

Not bad numbers overall. I'm not expecting a huge game. But, I personally would NEVER bench a guy like Holt. He could explode at any time...and you'll be kicking yourself for sitting him when he does.

The secondary is banged up, but it shouldn't make too much of a difference.
People do need to keep this in mind though. Mike Brown is out. Vasher may be out. Todd Johnson may be out.Tommie Harris is out = less pass rush.As a Bear fan, I'm beginning to worry that their pass D will begin to suffer.

I sat Bulger and Holt this week. With their OL, I will be surprised if Bulger finishes the game.

The Bears defense is ranked #24 against #1 WR's, according to Football Outsiders.

Not too many WR's, #1 or otherwise, are of the caliber of Torry Holt. Combine the above stat with Bulger calling out the OL, as well as the Bears being pretty banged up on D and I have a hunch that the Rams might play pretty well on O. In particular, I think Torry Holt might be in for a pretty good night.

FWIW, 670 The Score is saying that Vasher won't play and Ricky Manning Jr is going to replace him.

Not too many are of that caliber, but they have faced 7 of the top 17 WRs in my PPR league in 12 weeks. It isn't surprising that they have a lower ranking. Not easy facing 7 of the top 17 WRs as well as Antonio Bryant and Chambers. They have faced a very good set of receivers, not all are Torry Holt, but on average they may have faced as close to Holt as any other team.It is a little surprising to see 24th. Not sure how in the world that is the case when the Bears are 3rd best in yardage per game and 1st in TDs against. There are only 9 other teams with less than 2 times the receiving TDs against (8 vs 16). Not saying that stat isn't correct, but seems hard to be 24th against any receiving category when they have given up the least fantasy stats overall on pass defense (receptions + yards + TDs). Now tonight could change that, but so far, they have been very good against the pass.

Not to hijack your post but I think Holt has a nice game tonight. He plays well on monday night and this team relishes being on center stage...

The Rams and the over. book it.

Here's how I see it. Grossman starts ands the team struggles. Rams run quick slants and screens and the occasional deep bomb to Holt. Ram's up 17 - 3 half time. Grossman throw a pick and gets sacked 3 times. fumbling once.

Lovie tells Griese he's in @ Halftime. Rams score a quick TD and then hang on as Griese rallies the Bears with 2 quick TD's. The Rams strike once more in the 4th quarter on a run by Steven jackson and hold on to win 31-24.

Several reasons why. The Bears are not a good dome team. I don't have the records but my memory serves me well.

Grossman had easily one of his worst games early in the year on MNF early in the season. I don't think he has any confidence right now and Lovie will pull the hook if the Bears go down early and fail to respond.

The Bears are banged up in the secondary, The Rams have the weapons and the QB to exploit this. When you add the loss of Tommie Harris, that slows down their blitzing.

Griese is the wildcard. He's the better QB anyway and he very well could pull off the victory in a come-from- behind fashion.

Just my 2 cents!

The Real Goodfellas

The Rams have the same OL as last week, correct? Hope I'm wrong, but to think Bulger will now have time to find Holt down field would be very surprising to me. Another good game from Jackson.

D-jax a stud? chambers a stud? Plax a stud? They are good wr's. that's it. driver is a very good wr and Roy is also, but this list isn't full of studs.

Well, you can "shutdown" a team's passing game and still have particular players have good days. The Bears are #2 against #2 WR's and all other WR's. So, for example, say Bulger goes 15-35 for 185 yards, 1 TD and 3 INT. If Holt has 6 receptions for 100 yds. and a score, then he's had a great game. Even if he doesn't get the score, that's still very good. But, overall, the passing game would have been terrible.Remember, this category is only for all #1 WR's on opposing teams, not for all WR's.

Anyway, Nathan Vasher is out and Ricky Manning will be starting. With Devin Hester being the nickel back for this game, the Rams would be smart to bust out some Martz plays and have some 4 WR sets to attack the rookie.
