10 Ways to Lose Your Football Innocence (1 Viewer)

Good read and here's my favorite quote.

"It’s easy to tell the difference between the average football fan and the guy who grinds tape. The average fan behaves as if he’s a football genius. The average tape grinder knows he’s a football idiot."

Like many things, the more you know, the more you realize you don't know.

Wasn't sarcasm. I think it's a really interesting concept, and one that I try hard to fight in my dynasty management. You may have inspired me to write something up about it by the end of summer. OTOH - I really like the basis of the article. Sounds like a challenge to me!

ABSOLUTELY....every once in a while I think I've got a lot of this game pegged, only to be summarily humbled time and again.... :wall:

Didn't take it as sarcasm, Instinctive. Thank you. I enjoyed learning about that concept as well and it was fun to apply it to a piece about football after writing it about research a professor did on investment brokers.

For me, it could have been titled "10 Ways To Turn A Fun Pastime Into A Really Boring Job." But I'm sure the actual advice will accomplish the stated goal and I enjoyed reading it. Good work.

Absolutely can be a really boring job - especially when the player is a one-note wonder. However there are a lot of moments where it's far from boring, but it comes with what you get out of it. It's a lot like exercise in that regard. Training every day can be boring, but if you have a gym routine and get results, you know what I mean. Glad you enjoyed it.
