ViC stands for victory points, an area that causes some confusion. If you're not familiar with victory points, I'll explain how they work. You still play a head-to-head matchup each week. Teams get 2 victory points (VP) for winning the weekly matchup, 1 for a tie, and 0 for a loss. In addition, the top 4 scoring teams for the week get 2 Vp, the middle 4 get 1 VP, and the bottom 4 get 0. You can score 0, 1, 2, 3, or 4 VP each week. Standings are based on VP, and the top 4 teams still make the playoffs like normal. The playoffs are strictly head to head matchups. Why do people like VIC? It reduces the scheduling luck of fantasy football a bit, but still keeps the fun of the weekly matchup and playoffs. Victory points may not be mainstream, but a lot of fantasy leagues are moving this direction, especially the high stakes leagues.
