b. Starters - 1 QB, 2 RB, 2 WR, 1 RB-WR-TE, 1 TE

c. Draft format - Two drafts, one on Sunday June 26th (4 PM EST), no rookies. Rookie + free agent draft on Sunday, Aug 7th (7 PM EST).

d. Rules - See links above

e. Time and place (if live) - Online draft

f. Waiver rules - $1000 FAAB starts after rookie draft.

g. Site costs / host - $70 per year, split. MFL

h. Prizes / payout - $600 winner, $330 second, $200 third

j. Anything else important - 1.5 PPR for TEs, no kicker league, KR position substitute.

Four of us right now, but going to have to push the draft back with the CBA thing. There is no sense in having the league pay into LeagueSafe if there is no 2011 season. So sign up now if you like, but we will draft later.Still PM me if there is anyone that would like to join!

Just finalized the draft dates and updated the OP. We will draft on these dates regardless of whether or not a new CBA is in place. Send me a PM to join!

I was emailed a good question about the draft order. Here is my response for anyone else that is interested in this league:

MFL has an option to "set random draft order and email all members". As soon as all members pay in, I will click on this button and everyone will be emailed their random slot. The rookie draft will be the reverse of this order. If you get the last slot on the standard draft, you will get the first draft slot on the rookie draft. Both drafts are serpentine.

 
I'm very interested!! I read through the rules, and this league seems to be right up my alley. I've been playing for years in redraft leagues, and have tried dynasty for a couple of years. I'm looking to expand, and this league is different enough, that it definitely intrigues me. I like to trade, and will be active on the boards. Count me In!

 
I'm pretty interested in this league! I'm going to thoroughly go through the rules/bylaws/etc. to make sure, but I'm very interested.

I've been playing in dynasty leagues for a couple of years, but I've recently had the realization that I'm WAY too competitive and active, both in research, trades, and posting on the league message board, to keep only playing in free leagues.

I love dynasty too much, and spend way too much time on this hobby, to not play for money. If some type of validation is required, in terms of how I'd fit into the league, I could PM you the most recent rebuild I took over and have completely changed into a competitive team, within just a year.

I've never actually been in a dynasty league from the beginning, and I'm thrilled at the idea of drafting my team from scratch and playing for money. I'll look into your league further and let you know if its as good of a fit as I think it will be :)

Never having played in a money league before, I've never used Leaguesafe. But I'm guessing that wouldn't be a problem.

Edit: A couple of questions for you, Velveeta.

1. How large are off-season rosters (assuming they expand in the off-season?), and when are cut dates?

2. How exactly does the KR spot work? Does the player started in the KR spot each week also accumulate points for their receiving/rushing totals, etc? Or do you forfeit the receiving points of, say, Devin Hester by starting him as a KR? Probably a stupid question, but just checking how it works. Like the idea.

3. How many rounds is the start-up draft, and how many rounds is the rookie/FA draft? I only ask because it seems with only 20 roster spots, a rookie draft can't be much longer than 3 rounds?

4. How large is the IR, and how large is the Taxi Squad?

5. In subsequent years, does the Rookie/FA draft stop being serpentine?

1. 20 man rosters are year round, but you can thin out or get rid of your defenses/KR during the last few bye weeks of the season to pick up developmental guys.2. Yes, the KR spot will also get standard 1 PPR offensive scoring in addition to punt/kick return yards. Now that the NFL kickoff line has been moved, this may be more of a punt returner slot.3. 16 round initial draft. 4 round rookie draft.4. I like the addition! ;)So does that mean that if a player is put on IR, they HAVE to stay on it for 6 weeks, and then they can come back to the regular roster? Can any player be put on IR, or only players who are actually injured?

Yes they have to stay on IR for 6 weeks. Players have to be "out" or "doubtful" to go on IR.
 
Nope. Just offensive players. No kicker slot. Replaced with a KR slot:

Rules for KR:

Number of Punt Return TDs 6 points each

Punt Return Yards 1 point for every 10

Number of Kickoff Return TDs 6 points each

Kickoff Return Yards 1 point for every 20

Players played at WR/RB also get these points, right? So the only thing with the KR slot is that the player MUST be listed as a KR or PR? What about, for instance, a guy like Santana Moss a couple years ago, who would only return punts in dire situations? I'm assuming you can't start a guy like that in this spot, or it would just become another flex slot?

I believe that you score a 0 if the player does not catch at least 1 punt or kickoff. If this is not automatic via MFL software, I will add the rule to the bylaws.
 
Turned out to be a really good question that I had to look into. I had to set up special "conditional" scoring for the KR position. Offensive scoring points will only accumulate if the player has at least one punt return.

Rules for KR (Edit) Event Range (Low-High) Points

Number of Passing TDs 0-10 6 points each (Only if Punt Returns > 0)

Length of Passing TD 0-39 6 (Only if Punt Returns > 0)

Length of Passing TD 40-110 8 (Only if Punt Returns > 0)

Passing Yards -50-999 1 point for every 25 (Only if Punt Returns > 0)

Passing 2 Pointers 0-10 1 point each (Only if Punt Returns > 0)

Number of Rushing TDs 0-10 6 points each (Only if Punt Returns > 0)

Length of Rushing TD 0-29 6 (Only if Punt Returns > 0)

Length of Rushing TD 30-110 8 (Only if Punt Returns > 0)

Rushing Yards -50-999 1 point for every 10 (Only if Punt Returns > 0)

Rushing 2 Pointers 0-10 2 points each (Only if Punt Returns > 0)

Number of Receiving TDs 0-10 6 points each (Only if Punt Returns > 0)

Length of Receiving TD 0-39 6 (Only if Punt Returns > 0)

Added to the bylaws:

- Only players designated as kick returner in starting lineup will receive points for kickoff and punt return yardage.

- Players designated as kick returner in starting lineup will not receive offensive scoring points unless they have at least one punt return.

- A fair catch will count as a punt return.

Just so everyone is on the same page, the idea is not to have this league be a 3 or 5 year league, but hopefully have it last alot longer than that with each team willing to suffer through a bad team and build their way back, am I correct?

If so count me in.

 
Yes. We play the dynasty format so we can keep our team from year to year. Most dynasty leagues turn over one or two guys a year. Hopefully we can do better than that.

I know this is my intent. I'm looking forward to a long running league and managing my rooster regardless of how its doing.

Right now 10 of 12 members are paid and ready to get their random draft order emailed to them. We will generate the draft order as soon as two more sign up and pay in. Then there would be 2 days of trade talk and rules review. I would open the draft on Sunday afternoon.

we need one more guy, we have 11 out of 12 ownes paid up already through league safe, if we get one more paid up, we can generate the draft order and start our draft soon theeafter...if intersted PM velveeta26 before it fills up...league looks vey promising
