The podcast has been awesome to listen to. I'd suggest every American voter listen to the first 4 to give the podcast a try.

Ep1 = Fighting for Democracy

Ep2 = Economics of Slavery... it's pretty sad that things implemented during these times are still be used today.

Ep3 = Music... an awesome look at how African Americans created America music and Pop Culture

Ep4 = Health Care... Thank you, President Truman, for proposing and wanting Universal Health Care. Shame on present day Republicans.

Ep5 = The Land of our Fathers: Part 1

Ep5 = The Land of our Fathers: Part 2

I read most of the NYT spread, so if the podcast is different than the written essays, that's on me.  The "Economics of Slavery" essay was pretty terrible.  It's an interesting historical tidbit that slaves were apparently purchased using mortgages.  That doesn't mean that home mortgages are bad, which was the point the author of the article obviously wanted to make even if he couldn't say it out lout without appearing ridiculous.

Maybe it is on you because the loan stuff is minor to the bigger picture as to how slavery "gave" us our brutal Capitalistic nature. There are other Capitalistic societies around the world but they do not mirror ours at all. Americans have to labor and labor under the threat of being let go, or disciplined in some way, without any security whatsoever. It's shameful what businesses/corporations put the America worker through... and for what? The only people that get ahead are the ones near the top.

Slavery is still going on today and we are all slaving over those little greenbacks while "The Man" does what they want to keep the worker down. Same as in 1619.

5th episode should be up today but I'm not sure what time it will be uploaded. They've been uploading every 7 days.

Episode 5 came out this morning. Haven't listened yet though.

Another podcast I've been listening to is Moonrise.

Another is Business Wars.
