I'm looking at the performance, version 2 cheatsheet off of the most recent 163 cheatsheets article.

Why are 2 kickers listed on the top 60? If I've learned to expect anything from footballguys it is to expect not to waste a pick on a kicker until the very end of the draft. Not sure what I'm missing here or why these guys are listed on said cheatsheet.

I believe in lots of what is written by the guys on this site, but can't find the reason behind this one.

Too lazy to look up, but does that particular scoring favor kickers (i.e. massive bonus points for 50 yard field goals)?

This is one of the flaws of static VBD in that it doesn't rank kickers (and, to some extent, defenses) appropriately in the overall list. This is why they include a note that reads "Maximize Draft Value by drafting a Kicker after 6-8 have been taken"

As to WHY you are seeing 2 kickers in the top 60, here is the explanation:

1) These cheatsheets use "Joe's Secret Formula" so only about 96 players will have positive VBD values

2) Performance v2 offers bonus points for long field goals

3) The VBD value needed to crack the top 60 is quite low (i.e. 4 or 5 pts above baseline) It is not surprising at all that the top kicker would have a VBD value greater than this.

On a related note. When using draft dominator, is there a way to hide defenses and kickers? In a few of my mocks, I get to the midpoint of the draft and most of the top overall listings are defenses and kickers, but it is way before I would consider taking one of them. A minor inconvenience as I can see the best options at other spots by clicking the position tab, but still an inconvenience nonetheless.

I would also like to know about blocking them in DD. Also are they really ranked too high in DD, isn't that something they can fix?

On your setup page, just set your starting lineup and roster slots with no K and no D.

You can set your dd to wait to draft a kicker or defense after X amount are taken. But when I enter my projections, it never tells me to take a kicker or defense that early. usually pretty good about the adp's for me. I don't go by who it tells me to take anyway but it never does want me to take a kicker or defense early anyway.
