1pm - Calvin Johnson [Q] - WR, DET - Active (1 Viewer)

Dave Birkett @davebirkett

Calvin Johnson first up in early pre-game receiver drills. Secound route is a slant where he plants off his right foot.

Dave Birkett @davebirkett

Johnson doing more in early WR drills than ast week. If you're waiting fantasy word, looks like he'll play. Not 100% but better than last wk

In hindsight, were there any indicators that he was going to be a decoy before last week? Are they there or not there leading up to this week?

I'm figuring some detroit homer had a suspicion and...

Tim Twentyman @ttwentyman

He'll be more than a decoy @drew_besteman: @ttwentyman do you think calvin will be a decoy today or will he play a full game?

Last week we got this during warm-ups: "It was written by Dave Birkett, 'Calvin Johnson has his receiver gloves on but is not running pre-game routes with Stafford & rest of Lions receivers' and then, 'Johnson now walking off the field with WRs coach Robert Prince.'"

But no reporter made a big deal of it.

Any reports on how involved he is in warm UPS, or how he looks?

Have to decide between him and Garcon on MNF. Want to play Calvin but if he's barely used again....grrrrrr

I mean more than just "he ran a slant" and "better than last week." How much better? was he full speed running the slant? Etc

Yeah, is he running curls, hooks, slants, posts? Serious business here.

We need a reporter from the game reporting here. Zero speculation. None of this "better than last week" mumbo jumbo.

I feel a little better that he ran at least the one route with a plant on his right ankle, reportedly, compared to the no-routes and then walking off from last week.

That's good right?

Of course, we all want to know 'how good'.

Not-so-patiently waiting to see if there's anything else.

More detail from Twentyman and Birkett:

"According to Tim Twentyman of the Lions' website, Calvin Johnson (ankle) will be "more than a decoy" Sunday against Buffalo.

All signs point to Megatron playing against the Bills, and doing so with a significant role after spending Week 4 as a decoy. He should be locked into all fantasy football lineups without hesitation. Per the Detroit Free Press' Dave Birkett, Johnson "did everything today (in pre-game warmups)." He headed to the locker room afterward with "no sign of a limp or anything."

This is from Rotoworld..

Much more confident now, thanks MikeApf.

No problem. Yeah, I'm still nervous...but I think it definitely is worth rolling the dice on CJ this week. Good luck!

Early Morning Buzz on DET WR Calvin Johnson

Summary: This seems about like the best take on Calvin Johnson this morning. From NFL Network's Ian Rapoport: "WR Calvin Johnson told teammates hes playing today on the gimpy ankle that robbed him of 2 days of practice. But will he be himself?"

Tate doesn't even have a catch yet with Calvin limited.

Edit: and Tate scores!

Made my decision and I'll sleep easy. No need to second guess.

Exactly. It is what it is. Move on and hope your other players make up for it.

Yeah...My other players won't though. :(

I currently have 0.50 points from Calvin Johnson + Larry Donnell + CLE DEF lol
