Team Legacy used to be one of us, but like Arlen Specter he has jumped to the dark side. Team Legacy is now a "Pro" (Red v. Blue Talk Radio).

No doubt radballs is a playa. Glad he is on my side.

Me = Bald is Beautiful. I have a different name here on FBG.

Reigning Ultimate Survivor looking for work...

...please put me down on the Short List for 'surrogates', should the Joe's require a last minute emergency fill-in.

Although I competed (if you want to call it that) in the FFPC last year, and will be doing so again this year (when you WILL call it that), I don't have the time to be active on any Message Board besides this one right here...

...but I'm pretty sure I pass the eyeball test.

Let me know if I can be of assistance...

Can someone explain why 5 teams felt the need to be 2 deep at TE by round 10...and some by round 6??? Someone please tell me why you need your 2nd TE before you need your 2nd RB AND WR???

Tight ends receive 1.5 PPR making them EXTREMELY valuable. 80-90 catch guys become essentially 120-135 catch guys. (WITTEN)

Also, there's DUAL FLEX in the FFPC, meaning that you can start up to 3 tight ends every week. Normal starting requirements are 1-2-2-1 with 2 flex, allowing for many combinations.

1-4-2-1

1-2-4-1

1-2-2-3

1-3-3-1

1-3-2-2

1-2-3-2

I posted this in my league's message board thread:

If you Joe's are picking Witten in the 1st round like the 1st league, this thing might be over before it even gets started.

What was the requirement to be a Joe? a pulse....LOL

Come on Scott. Even you know that Witten in the first is a GIANT reach even with these rules.

It's dual flex and Best Ball and the TEs get 1.5 PPR so it's possible these selections make sense. Doubtful, but possible. I draft tomorrow so I will be able to comment more after that.

David, I agree! I look at it as if the Witten owner is eliminated from competition. Also one "Pro" only took 1 DST and 1 K in a Draftmasters league which means they get a zero on the BYE weeks. This also eliminates them from having a chance IMO.

Because you can start 4 RBs with dual flex, I was very happy to get these RBs:

Steve Slaton

DeAngelo Williams

Thomas Jones

Larry Johnson

Willie Parker

I'm a little light at WR/TE, but I'll take my chances.

I wouldn't say he is automatically eliminated as Witten could have a huge year now that TO is gone. I just think at tenth overall that is a big reach. He easily could have taken him at 15th (his second pick) 95% of the time. I agree the 1 DST and 1 PK is beyond goofy especially having 26 roster spots and no moves. I have a feeling these drafts get harder and harder though as each draft tightens the ADP. I am glad I am drafting tonight because the final drafts someone could just draft off of the averages of these other leagues and likely do great.

Brady, Slaton and DeAngelo are obviously nice. Not so sure about LJ and Willie Parker. Obviously you are counting on Ocho to bounceback which is a reasonable gamble, but the rest of your WRs lack "pop". Santana had one of his better seasons last year, I expect him to fall back to his average. Your TEs are below average. You really need Brady to get back to 40+ TDs to win this. I value stud WRs more than most though.

As of right now, there is little evidence to show that LJ and FWP won't be terrific RBs 3&4. I'd take those 2 RBs over a WR3/4 any day.

I love stud WRs too. The problem is that they were flying off the board!!! I'm not going to overpay for a Braylon Edwards when I can get DeAngelo.

 When you took DWILL in the 2nd, the following WR's were still on the board.....Reggie Wayne, Steve Smith, Welker, Jennings, Boldin, Colston, Roddy White

Duh, I didn't mean DWilliams. I meant LJ.

When I took LJ in the 5th, Coles, L. Evans, Hester, and Avery were available. I saw 10 more WRs in their range, so I went LJ.

When I took Brady in the 3rd, Housh, Marshall, and Royal were there. I'll go top rated QB there.

In the 6th, when I took T. Jones, Winslow, Hester, and Avery were available.

In the 7th, when I took FWP, Holt, Ward, Walter, and Berrian were there. I wanted Berrian, but he was sniped the pick before I took Moss.

In the 9th, when I took Breaston, Steve Smith (Giants) and Chris Chambers were available.

Being that it's a best ball format, I figured I'd take my chances with middle and late rd. WRs to patch together WR2 #s.

I was responding to the previous post David, why so many teams had multiple tight ends. As for a tight end in the first, I wouldn't have the guts to do it, and while I agree that even the top tight ends won't ever put up a Randy Moss 2007 type season, under these rules, the elite tight ends score 300 points. That puts them on par with Fitz type scoring.

Out of the 3 hole: MJD, Portis and Pierre Thomas is looking good for the first 3 rounds.

I see Dodds likes his receivers this year!

I think I crushed this thing.

Remember it's best ball. Start 1 QB, 2 RB, 2 WR, 1 TE, 2 flex (RB/WR/TE) 1 Def and 1 PK. It's PPR for RB/WR and 1.5 PPR for TE. What makes this league unique is the dual flex. The elite WRs really are awesome in this format because they really can put up huge days (an 8 catch, 100 yard 1 TD game is a monster in this format). I went in with the strategy that I would get just 1 real RB while loading up elsewhere. Guys like Kevin Faulk, Leon Washington, Jerrious Norwood work great in these leagues because you get their games when they take a pass to the house.

From the sixth hole, I was not really in love with any backs. A case could be made for Fitz or Johnson and I view it too close to argue over it. I then just looked to pluck value for the first 1/3 of the draft.

1 - WR Andre Johnson

2 - WR Steve Smith

3 - RB Ronnie Brown

4 - WR Terrell Owens

5 - WR Chad Ochocinco

6 - TE Chris Cooley

7 - QB Jay Cutler

This was exactly my game plan here. Grab 1 QB, 1 RB, 1TE and the rest WRs here. I expect this core to be as good as anyone after 7 picks.

8 - RB Cedric Benson

9 - WR Donald Driver

10 - QB Eli Manning

11 - TE Heath Miller

12 - RB Kevin Faulk

13 - TE Bo Scaife (I wanted to get three viable TEs because I may need them to cover my weak RB as flex players. At 1.5 points per reception, I just need a few of these to have a couple of huge games).

14 - QB Jake Delhomme

I was hoping a few more RBs would slide to me, but they felt overdrafted for most of the draft to me. None of these picks were very sexy, but with a solid core in the first 7 picks, I just wanted to make sure I had solid QB and TE play too.

15 - Chargers Def

16 - Muhsin Muhammad (Plan here was to get him here as a value play and grab Dwayne Jarrett late to lock up all the Carolina WRs. I had my chance to do this, but got greedy and saw myself lose out on him)

17 - RB Leonard Weaver (These are the picks I love. We know he will vulture some TDs. Westbrook will also miss a few games. This is as non-sexy a pick as they come, but a valuable addition to the team I was looking to build here).

18 - QB JaMarcus Russell (I did not really need a 4th QB, but at this price I took him. This should ensure I always have solid QB play even if one of my QBs gets hurt).

19 - RB Justin Forsett (Soon to be the starter in Seattle. This was my homerun approach from the start. Glad I got him)

20 - Bucs Defense

21 - PK Nick Folk (I had higher rated kickers, but went safe here. There was a mini-kicker run right before my selection)

22 - PK Josh Scobee (Strengthening a weakness)

23 - RB Maurice Morris (another gem I was targeting. He will have some role every week backing up Kevin Smith).

24 - PK Lawrence Tynes (I did not go into this draft seeking 3 PKs, but I did not really care for the two I got. This third one keeps me out of trouble here)

25 - RB Ken Darby (When has Steven Jackson played every game? So to get his backup this late is gold).

26 - WR Matt Jones (probable wasted pick. I probably should have added a last horrible defense based on their ability to have a huge week)

All in all I believe I have the best WRs by a wide margin, solid TEs, depth at QB, sneaky RBs who will score way better in this format than people think and adequate PKs and Defs. I believe this team will compete for the title.

Great strategy and breakdown.LOVE your WR's. Love the value at TE! Cooley was a monster grab. My #4 TE this year. You're right, if you catch a break or two at RB this team is a contender. Would feel better if you had a Felix Jones or Ray Rice but... The ultimate thing keeping you from winning is QB. Horrible. Absolutely awful. A McNabb or Palmer puts this team over the top. You may feel you got something similar in Cutler - but I'd bet the farm you didn't.

Are you suggesting my team would have been better to REACH for McNabb in the 4th? Because you grabbed McNabb in the 5th (which I still consider to be a reach in this QB non-friendly format) before my 5th round selection. Not sure I am understanding the criticism at all because I never had a legitimate shot to get McNabb. I rate Palmer (and his awful offensive line) worse than Cutler so we agree to disagree there I think.

In flex leagues such as this you just have to grab the guys you have projected to score the most points and not worry about getting RB2 by a certain round. I think this is what you did and it will pay off.

Okay, I had a plan going in which I succesfully worked in 2 previous FFPC Sat's this year. Take 2 top 5 WR's and then grab 2 top 3 TE's. I really do believe this is the year to wait on RB's if you have a later draft spot and work a QB by comittee, especially in a Draft Master's format. I'm very happy with this team. It could have been better but I will definitely roll with this team as it is.

Round 1 got Fitz... Perfect. Wanted him or Andre.

Coming back I just felt that taking Witten was a better value than the WR's that were there(Boldin, S Smith, R White) I just couldn't pull the trigger on them. In FFPC scoring Witten is projected as a 300pt player anyway.

Round 3 Gates was there so hoping for a bounce back year, I grabbed him. Again, another possible 290-300 pt TE to flex was worth it to me.

Round 4 Thomas Jones... if he comes anywhere near last year's numbers I'll be happy.

Round 5... Ray Rice. I love what I'm hearing out of Baltimore and I really think this kid could be huge this year.

Round 6... Santonio Holmes. Played great at the end of last year and expect a nice year out of him. Not a huge QB-WR tandem but I'll take it

Round 7...Willie Parker. Don't really care what is being said.. FWP IS the starter and if healthy will fill in nicely as a RB3.

Round 8... Jerrico Cotchery.. Again, not flashy but he is the WR1 in NY. QB situation is sketchy but if Sanchez works out could be a nice pick for my WR3.

9 Big Ben

10 Steve Breason

11 Fred Taylor

12 Michael Crabtree--- this was an auto pick. I was taking Hixon but got knocked off my computer

13 Joe Flacco

14 Chicago D

15 Mewelde Moore

16 Justin Gage

17 Billy Miller

18 Edge

19 Mark Sanchez (There's my other WB-WR combo)

20 Devery Henderson... I will take his huge games every so often in this format

21 Kris Brown

22 Buffalo D

23 Rian Lindell

24 Jovan Walker

25 Lorenzo Booker

26 Chanci Stuckey

I like Dodds team a little better than this one...much more depth, although he is a little weak at RB.
