1st pick in a 2man keeper league (1 Viewer)

So I have the #1 pick this year in a 2 man keeper, ppr league....the majority of the usual suspects are being kept....

David Johnson, Ezekiel Elliot, Leveon bell, Antonio brown, Odell Beckham Jr, Julio Jones, aj green, mike Evans....

my 2 keepers are edelman and k. benjamin, i lose my 9th and last pick of the draft on those 2....

looking for any thoughts on who i go with at #1....my short list is...Jordan Howard, Todd gurley, Eddie lacy, Leonard fournette, cj Anderson, d Murray, jay ajayi or possible Melvin Gordian, I think the guy will keep him tho...im not even sure if i look at a QB #1....SMH...im thinking either fournette or howard w/ my 2nd going w/ top back available and a QB for 3rd...i really like mccaffery in Carolina this year also....

thanks for looking and answering...

What WRs are not being kept (top ones)? It's possible that you have better value at WR and go RB with your next two picks after. Not really sold on Edelman and Benjamin as your Wr1-2. Would be a great 1 and 3 or 2 and 3.

If that is the list and you're sticking to it... well then...

Howard: This is a very big possibility but it concerns me that the Chicago offense has only gotten worse, somehow. I'd probably pass personally. Especially if Trubisky gets to start... no one respects his arm, at least right now.
Gurley: I'd consider this because Gurley is going to be more involved in the passing offense and that team should be better than last year.
Lacy: No
Fournette: No
CJ: No
Murray: I'd rather have a bell cow who will get all of the carries. Murray takes every 3rd series off with Henry and who knows maybe that rotation turns to more 50/50 this year.
Ajayi: would possibly be there for your second pick, so no
Gordan: If he's there I'd take him top priority

Can you post your keeper options? What are the keeper rules? Can you keep this first round pick next year?

No, you should not look at a QB.

With this being only a 2 keeper league it should be treated more as a redraft.  That being said you can cross off Fournette for that #1 pick.  No need to risk you team for a totally unproven guy when there is plenty of talent still available.

I would have to think you have better freeze options.  Those are two blah guys that can be had later in drafts even if they are decent values at those rounds.  How many teams are there and how many teams are losing their first round picks due to their freezes?

I'll disagree with the majority here and say Fournette (unless Gordon is in there).

I think he's going to settle in as a top 15 pick in redraft leagues and his age/upside would break the tie for me over Howard, who will probably go in the same range in redraft.

Not thrilled with your keepers, but that can happen. Are you trying to maximize your pick value by keeping the later picks? Keep your best players, outside your 1st. Sorry I'm not really answering your question, I'd probably go Gordon.

One other piece of advice for picking at the turn in a league like this, pay attention to who you're picking in what round, i.e. at 2/3 if you decide to take mccaffery/jordy, take cmc 2nd so if you decide to keep him it costs the lower round and jordy likely won't be a long term asset.

Edelman and Benjamin are nice keepers at the prices you have them, but I agree with Snorkelson, you have to have better options than that where you can give up your 2nd-4th round picks, even though they don't give that much of a discount to their real redraft value.

I would rank them

Gordon (if not kept), then Howard, then Fournette.

its a 10 team league....and trust me when I say my team was bad...the only other notable keep would be spencer ware...and he was just so inconsistent....the keeper rules are u lose the pick that person was drafted in previously...hence why i keep edelman and benjamin...very late picks...still not sure of everyones keepers just yet but everyone keeps the same guys every year....so Id say at least 1st ten picks there will be at least 7 using them on keepers and at least 4 in 2nd rd....honestly, maybe I should just not keep anyone...lol...well maybe just edelman cuz he does pretty good in ppr formats....lol..and hilton may be the top wr not being kept...maybe...the rest of my crap team was...

rawls, deandre hopkins, grahm, diggs and bortles, cj anderson,
