2 teams playing the wrong schedule (1 Viewer)

We started using FFL for the first time this year (Manual off line before). We draw for division in the preseason. When I loaded the teams into the website I switched two teams into the wrong divisions. One of the owners discovered the issue and I switched the twor owners to the correct division. The problem is the schedule had already been generated. I got the warning to adjust the schedule and thought I did but somehow it didn't take. The complicated part is we play a unbalanced schedule by division. Twice against teams in your division and once against teams in the other division. Last week was the first time teams in the same division played each other for the 2nd time. This week it was discovered that the 2 teams were playing each others schedules and they faced a team outside thier division twice. I only see two ways out.

Switch the schedules and go back and change everything based on what these two teams would have done to this point if they had played each others schedule. This would effect 12 games so far this year. I really do not like going back and changing previous weeks results.

Instead I have decided to go with approach #2.

I kept the two teams playing the schedules that they currently have and switched thier divisions.

What do you think of this solution and is there any other solution that is better that I am missing.

waverunner : ride out the current season with the unbalanced schedule, re-ordering the shedule at this point would create general discontent in your league that would inlikely be irreversible

the only exception would be a unanimous league agreement to re-balance the schedules, though at this point, that would be very difficult to attain

Additional information is the playoff seeding Division winners are the top two seeds followed by the next 4 best records. One of the teams is in a strong division but is getting to play the weaker division twice and could end up the division champion but have played and easier schedule. I feel that I have to switch the division of each team so that they are playing on an equal playing field? I agree with keeping the same schedules but should the teams switch divisions also ?

I would make the point to the league members regarding the strength of shcedule advantage and the possible Division outcome that could result from it. If you put it that way my guess is you league would support changing the teams division to match the schedules. I would not change the schedules. Bad juju. I would put it up for a vote, majority wins: Change Divisions vs. Let it ride.

I think the easiest thing to do would be to just leave everything the way it is.

The 2nd easiest solution would be to dissolve the divisions for the season and just play the season out with one division.

If your owners are rational people then they will accept any results changes because that's the way it should have been. It's just like a stat correction that comes out on Wednesday that changes the outcome of a game. It's a tough pill to swallow if you end up losing the game, but if things were "right" you would've lost the game anyway. If it were me, I would revert everything to the way it should have been, explain to the guys that that's the way it should have been and that the results are the way they would have been if the schedule were right. Some may complain but if they can't see that that is reality then you are dealing with irrational people.
