*** 2006 Chicago Bears Thread *** (2 Viewers)

Amen. There is and will never be another Ditka. But we could get close. All Lovie needs is a pair of aviator sunglasses, a bad sweater vest, some gum and a big ol' stogie. Oh, and a mouth that spews timeless gems like "See that buddy? That's your IQ. ZERO!"Smith-ka. :lmao:
"So, who you crappin'? Don't crap me, pal!"I doubt the Bears go 16-0. They'll lose some bs worthless game, possibly one of the last couple with the scrubs in. But, seriously, they're the best team in the league, hands down. No defense is better, and the Grossman has given this team a top 10 offense. HFA is a lock, the only real concern at this point is choking in the playoffs. This is all pretty surreal for Bears fans.

The Bears are beating teams in a similar fashion to the beatdowns Nebraska and Florida of the mid-90's put on weaker opponents.

So you admit da bears did not manhandle us... Sweet!!! I win the argument.
What argument??? You seem to contend that the Vikes gave the Bears that game, when the FACT is the Bears took it. If it makes you feel better, the Vikes are the only team that the Bears have not completely dominated so far this year, that is a fact. The Bears did prove they are a better team than the Vikes by coming back and winning when they didn't play very good. You lose.

Once again the Bears have been exposed. Just like in '01/'02 and '05/'06 a gaudy regular season record based on a weak schedule, weak division, and fluke victories will result in a swift dismissal from the playoffs. :bye: Bears.

Different team, different coach.I don't think they are THAT much better than the rest of the NFL, but if they stay healthy they are dangerous. Tough to play in Chicago in December.

If they get homefield advantage, I think they are the favorite to represent the NFC. Still the best team in the NFL and are scary good at home. Rex had a terrible game, but the Defense won the game for them(...well....the Cardinals lost it, but the D made some plays). The only team with a good shot at beating them at home is Carolina and it would take another great game like the one in the playoffs last year. I don't see Philly, Seattle or St. Louis beating them in Chicago.Long way to go and they are no sure thing, but I still would say they are the team to beat, IMO.

Grossman has the worst game a QB has played in a really long time and all of a sudden the Bears aren't going to win a playoff game?

Sure, I don't think Grossman is the second coming but can't this just be a really bad game. It happens sometimes. Here's to hoping it is.

Disclaimer--I'm a Bears fan.

Teams that would win in Chicago come playoff time:

Philly

Dallas

NYG

Carolina

New Orleans

Seattle

St Louis
fixedSeriously? Philly can't beat the Giants or New Orleans on the road, Seattle & St. Louis just aren't that good and especially on the road, New Orleans is surprising but have not won a big road game yet, and Dallas probably won't even make the playoffs. That leaves......Carolina.

ok maybe not St Louis but everyone else is a lock
Yeah, your right, New Orleans is a lock to win its 1st playoff victory EVER on the road in Chicago. Can I have some of what you are smoking please?
New Orleans won a playoff game 5 years ago. Next.

Oops. My bad. 2nd Playoff Victory EVER. Your right. Big difference. Did that make them 1-17 in playoff games or something. Not really too up on my Saints trivia.

Seattle would beat Chicago in Seattle. Carolina and Philly could win in Chicago. After last night's game Chicago absolutely needs homefield to advance in the playoffs. Arizona is awful.

You all need to cut back on the coffee....name one team in the NFL that has looked dominant in every game they have played this year.....Indianapolis....clearly you did not watch their last game...Carolina....notPhilly...notNew England...nopeDenver....no waySeattle....nopeThe impressive thing to take from this game is that the Bears found a way to win even when their offense was absolutely non-existent....They can beat you with defense, offense or special teams.....I am a little concerned about Mike Brown's injury....but the Bears are fine....not as good as the hype after last week (but a lot of us knew that)....no where near as bad as the gloom after this week....Bottom line....still one of the best teams in the NFL.....

I disagree. The Bears will be fine. You could tell they took the Cardinals too lightly last night, but they still found a way to win the game. If I were a Bears fan, I would worry if Grossman starts playing poorly every week now, but until that happens, I wouldn't sweat it too much.

Why would the Bears be any diffferent? When was their last playoff win? 1994?

Thanks for reinforcing my point......

:lmao: How did they do that -- by blowing really hard so the winning FG went left?
Who is to say that if Rackers hits that FG, the Bears don't go down the field and kick one, too, to win the game? There were still 40 plus seconds left. Bottom line...The Bears won the game. That is all that matters.

Because that potent offense ran up and down on the Cardinals all night long, right?

Missing the point. They won the game, thats all that matters. Great teams find ways to win.

LOL at the whiny Burrs fans. You really think Grossman to Berrian is going to win playoff games? SOrry but playoff teams block your defensive end, cover punts, make FG's, etc... Nowhere to go but down. :bye:

NO is a good team this year. Why wouldn't they have a chance in Chicago to win? Drew Brees knows how to play in cold weather, he played at Purdue. If you want to take the past into account, how did home field advantage work for the Bears in their last two playoff games? They lost both of those home games. NO has a much tougher schedule than the Bears this year, and if NO ends up playing the Bears in the playoffs in Chicago, I would not take NO's lightly.

Looking WAY ahead ... but I was certainly mindful of the NFC home-field race as Rackers missed the FG. The Saints already have a steep hill to climb ... any Bears loss would be huge.

Nobody blocks this defensive line, sorry manAnd this isnt the last you will see of Hester, hes just getting startedLast night was probably the worst you will see this team play all year, and they still won.

A healthy New Orleans squad is certainly built for a cold-weather playoff game -- a QB (Brees) and a top WR (Colston from Hofstra) used to cold weather, a brickhouse RB (McAllister), a slew of guys to work short passing routes as needed (Bush, Horn, 3-headed TE), and a solid pursuit-style front seven on defense. They'd have a chance in Chicago ... but the atmosphere for a playoff game in the Dome would be beyond electric, and I'd hate to have them miss that.
