If Dayne can put together numbers like FBGs has predicted, then this team could be very strong. But I think you jumped the gun on him too soon. And no, I'm not saying this because of the ol' Mike Bell situation. I personally don't think he'll end up starting the season as the #1. Gore should be a decent pick, especially being your #3 RB. At worst, I think he'll split time with Barlow, but I don't think any of us think Barlow will finish the season as the starter. If Gore can stay healthy, he has a great chance...I like both your WRs. Driver should have an excellent season, with Walker gone, and Favre looking to sling it one last time, trying to break Marino's records. I think he'll finish top 7-8 this year, barring injury. Horn, I think, will rebound quite nicely this year, with Brees there. Maybe not quite to Horn-level production from a few years back. But he'll easily outproduce his ADP...

Very young, and strong RB corps. I like it. Jackson, if he stays healthy, should produce well. Grabbing Foster and Williams basically locks up the Carolina running game, and should produce VERY well this year. You actually JUST beat me out on Williams. I would have taken him if you hadn't right before me...Benson, I think, will do very well, if he can stay healthy. Jones will be around, and take carries away, and maybe even split it like 50-50 at the beginning. But over time, if Benson shows he's worthy, I think it'll progress more to 60-40 and 70-30 throughout the season. He was drafted early first round for a reason, afterall...Moss doesn't hurt one bit. I'm not convinced Brooks is the answer, but Moss will still be around the 1200/10 TD range this year and hold his own.Manning, I'm still not completely sold on. But I think he'll do fairly well, and continue with the growing pains. My biggest concern is that the defenses in his division are getting stronger and stronger each year, and he has to face Dallas, Washington, and Philly twice each... ick! But of course, this didn't stop me from drafting him in MBSL3.... :lmao:

QB: Matt Hasselbeck (5.05)RB: Tiki Barber (1.05), Tatum Bell (3.05)WR: Anquan Boldin (2.12), Rod Smith (4.12)TE: Jason Witten (6.12)K: DEF:
A very different look for me... I normally wait on QBs, but in both MBSLs, I've taken a QB in the 5th. I REALLY like Hasselbeck this year, with Jackson back, and hopefully for good. I like having Tiki. He's a steady producer. Bell, I like, but the whole Denver situation is just annoying to get into. I normally avoid RBBCs or ones where you're not 90-100% sure who the starter is. But this year, for whatever reason, I've decided to go out on a limb and shoot for Bell. Yeah, yeah, a lot are buying into this recent Mike Bell hype, but I think that's all it is. Dayne apparently hasn't shown too much promise, so Shanny needed more motivation for Tatum Bell. Personally, I don't think Tatum Bell will start the season as #2 or #3. He won't get all the carries, but I think he'll start, and produce well...Boldin and Smith I like a lot. Decent combo and should be steady for me this season. And Witten should produce well for me at that position...

TE: L.J. Smith (6.10

Never take a QB early, but at 5.07 I had 6 WR's I was targetting and every single one went off the board in the picks between 4.10 and 5.07. I felt it was too early for any of the remaining RB's and I knew I could get LJ Smith in the 6th. So lets hope QB early works out for me.

I'm going to need help at RB in Week 9 when Westy is out, but other than that I'm ok with my RB's for now. I thought it may be a couple spots too high for Westbrook, but after the scrimmage the other night. Caddy or Jordan were my other choices there.

Yep. My thoughts exactly. If even one of the two pans out though, this could be a strong team.... depending on who else you take, of course...

Very happy with the balance so far. Different team for me as I am usually drafting late in these leagues.

Well...I think that picking at the end of a 16 team round forces you to take risk...and you can't be afraid to reach a bit, and I certainly did.

With two points per reception for TE's, I think Gates is almost a lock for a top 10 finish in this format, and with conventional wisdom being that a new QB looks to checkdown to a TE frequently, Gates has a decent chance at a top 5 finish.

At RB, I've got a trio of youngsters that have the potential to produce even if they are sharing a workload with their veteran counter parts. And, if a situation develops where they are given the reigns as a feature back, then my shakey RB's will rapidly become my strength. I just need either MB3 or Addai to show up in any given week, because I think Reggie is going to be there week in and week out. I think he's going to get a 'lot' of touches, and I think he's going to leave a lot of defenders grasping at vapor. I really can't wait to see him play.

With RB really being a lot of unproven talent...I wanted a very consistent performer at QB. I think Jake fills that role. He's a gamer with a lot of weapons...including a great possession receiver added to the mix in the form of Keyshawn.

The WR corp needs 'a lot' of work, and I'm going to have to find some significant over achievers from the group that's left. Santana is a decent WR2...but he's going to have to serve as my WR1. If I can get a top 20 out of him...I'll consider myself lucky. Someone always emerges from the lower tier WR...I just have to find them.

05.14 QB8 Jake Delhomme

02.03 RB17 Reggie Bush

03.14 RB30 Joseph Addai

06.03 RB39 Marion Barber III

04.03 WR18 Santana Moss

01.14 TE1 Antonio Gates

QB: Bledsoe (3) Warner (9)

RB: R.Johnson (5), Dillon (6), Maroney (6) Pittman (4)

WR: Walker (4), Wayne (6) Givens (7) Ferguson (6) Henry (5) Holmes (4) Henderson (7)

TE: Heap (7) Johnson (7)

K: Graham (5)

D/ST: Car (9) Buff (8)

If Walker is reasonably healthy then I like this team. Otherwise, I feel good about the NE RB connection. Bledsoe wa not on my radar but seemed QB's were flying off early and I love his early bye week. I actually feel Warner will outproduce him. Bledose's early bye gives me some flexibilty and takes some of the pressure off my RB's and WR's.

I really like Heap this year with McNair throwing to him. He could easily be top 2-3 if he stays healthy. I wanted a TE2 with a diff bye but it didn't work out. Taking Johnson was just going with the best available and I think he'll give me a few excellent weeks. I tried to make up for it by drafting more WR's to help ensure I score well at all three positions during week 7. Also making sure my QB's were on different byes than week 5/6/7 was important.

All in all I think this team has chance to compete throught week 14 anyway if I can survive the tough week 6/7 byes.

Good luck to all!

I'm planning to take lots and lots of sleeper studs and only one or two duds.

I think this is a REALLY strong team. Maybe one of the top 2 or 3, so far...With handcuffing Maroney to Dillon, you just locked up a solid #2 RB slot along with Rudi. If Walker, as you said, can turn out fairly well, you have two excellent receivers to start off. Along with Bledsoe, whom I think will have an excellent year with TO there. And finally, Heap, I think, will have his best season this year, with McNair there... I was REALLY wanting him, but you snagged him before...

Thank you for the kind words. I'm feeling pretty good the way the trade turned out allowing me to get a top TE without making a big sacrifice. As BNB pointed out however, Walker may be the issue. WR's returning from knee injuries don't have the best track record their first year back. Additionally, WR's changing teams do not usually fair well. So he's got 2 strikes against him. Not over confident he can overcome both issues. If he does before I get the boot then I like this team alot better.

probably the most balanced team ive ever had in a 16 teamer

also probably the earliest ive ever picked

I thought the early draft slot really made things easier for whatever reason

I updated my team and comments.

QB > J. Delhomme (9), D. Culpepper(8), B. Leftwich (6)

Decided that having a 3rd starting QB in the mix was going to be more valuable than another 'bottom of the barrel' RB or WR. Somehow I managed to draft 9 potential receivers...none of which are linked to my 3 QB's.

I feel good about getting one of these guys into the top 10 most weeks.

RB > R. Bush (7), J. Addai (6), M. Barber III (3), M. Alstott (4)

Obviously...barring an injury, my RB corps will really live or die with Reggie. If Addai and Barber can take turns having big games...I think I'll be alright at RB.

WR > S. Moss (8), Mark Clayton (7), N. Burleson (5), D. Gabriel (3), H. Baskett (9)

WR is going to be a challenge. If Burleson and Hank emerge...then I think I can hold my own here. If I get eliminated, I would be surprised if it wasn't rooted in WR weakness.

TE > A. Gates (3), L. Pope (9)

AG has to get a lot of receptions in order for me to compete. I had him in the top 5 in this scoring format. The SD WR's need to keep defenses somewhat honest. If they do...Gates will do fine. I'm worried that Pope may have been a 'throw away' pick. I wanted to skip TE2 and use the pick to bolster WR. But, Pope has such an easy (and complimentary) SOS, I ultimately decided to play it conservative and back Gates up. I don't think Pope has had a target in the two preseason games.

PK > A. Vinatieri (6), J. Carney (7)

Kickers. Who cares? And of course...the first time I've ever been the first to pick a PK, he turns his ankle.

DT > Jacksonville (6), Tennessee (7)

Not much to say here. Middle of the pack DT's with complimentary SOS. I think SOS is one of the key components to survivor stragegy.
