2006 Rushing Strength of Schedule (1 Viewer)

Post Corner

I am in a position in my draft where Dillon is a real possibility (mid second round). He scares me, and I lot of people seem pretty down on him. Well, I just read these articles and it got me thinking:

Are both Dillon (and Kevin Jones) undervalued?

Based on their rushing strength of schedule, they have a lot of good match-ups. I know there is a lot that goes into a player's value, but this was just enough to perhaps put me over the top when thinking about Dillon (and perhaps Jones, but he REALLY killed me last year).

Comments welcome... Also, MIN has a pretty easy schedule against the run. Big time additions in off-season (Hutchinson + Richardson) have me twitching to pull that trigger earlier than I probably should in my draft. Counterarguement why MIN RB would be trouble? Thanks.

I have new eng with the easiest Rush schedule this year.(see my sos in the" Bye week peril" thread) I also have the same top 10 as them, except I have Buff ranked way above theirs.

Dodd has Dillion ranked 24 or so and Maroney RB #39. Needless to say I love the N. Eng RB schedule, but I like Maroney. Probable due to (OMEGA) league rules 1 pt per rec. Hope this helps.

EDIT note that N. Eng and Minn. both have the dreaded 6 wk bye.

Dillon in the second round? MFL ADP has him at #56 overall.
Yea, that's why I metioned Dodds #24 RB ranking w/Moroney right on his heals.
I want nothing to do with Dillon. He will still get some TDs, but he is old and slow. He knows it. His Coach knows it.I will let someone else move on him. However, if he is around too long ... I will still probably pass on this dude. :D

By nothing to do w/Dillon do you mean that if you could get him in the 4th, you would pass? Even if he would be your 3rd RB? What if you could get Dillon in the 4th and Maroney in the 6th as RBs 3&4, would you still pass?

I totally understand the nothing to do w/Dillon, but if he only starts 8 games and Maroney starts the other 8 and you get them both at bargain prices do you still pass?

If you totally believe that he won't last the season wouldn't this be a bargain backfield pick?

If you believe this will be a RBBC all year then I agree.

I wouldnt want Dillon without Maroney. I would want Maroney without Dillon. I think that later in the season, Maroney could easily be getting a lot of action and could even get the majority of carries over a healthy Dillon. The handcuffing of the two doesnt look bad but the odds of RBBC doesnt excite me even while thinking New England's ground game is in for a good year. So I wouldnt consider Dillon undervalued.

KJ I consider undervalued. Calhoun isnt nearly as much of a threat to take over that Maroney is and he's a dirt cheap handcuff if that's what you are looking for.

Chester Taylor's perceived value is all over the board. Minnesota's workload split is somewhat of a mystery and Taylor didnt approach the offseason the way he should have. I'm avoiding him but I think that you can get him at a fair value half the time. The idea of using 2 more roster spots to handcuff him also turns me off. The only real appeal to me here would be in a ppr format.

Without a big back, I wonder who will get the goal-line carries? Kleinsasser? I'm sure they won't make 205lb Fason do it again heh.

Why not? Fason had 3 TDs in only 10 goal line tries, but for 1 yard total ruahing, 0.1 ypc. On the year, he had 32 carries for 62 yards, 1.9 ypc. He had 4 total TDs and 1 FL and added no receptions. Doesn't look like the stat line from a goal line FBG player page has the following:

Fason 6-0 212

Taylor 5-11 213

Moore 5-11 209

Who will get the short yardage? and goal line?

B Jacobs NYG is 6-4 260. He had 14 goal liine carries for 10 yards and 6 TDs and I thought that he ws rather unsuccessful in that role. Comparatively, Fason was much worse.

The Chiefs and Chargers NEARLY play the exact same schedule...so why is the SOS for SD 14 spots better than KC's???

:goodposting: This is turning itto a great thread. I thought it was going to be Taylor, now I don't know. Great point. Thanks

:goodposting: As long as we can convince people not to take Dillon, it is always a good post!!
