2007 All Consistency Team (1 Viewer)

Was just striking me as I looked at my roster this week that I was shocked to be #2 in our Power Rankings. Then I started looking at other guy's teams, and they had 1 or 2 big time guys, but I had a pretty full roster of players that weren't sexy but that are scoring very consistently. No huge blow up games, but no duds either.

TJ Housh

Winslow

Gostowski (I know, my kicker, but pencil him in for 8-10 every week)

I have a decent guys around them of course, but I realized those 3 guys are averaging me 40+ pts a weeks with nominal std deviation.

So what guys are on your roster that you can depend on for solid points week in and week out?

The point of this thread is to maybe bring to light players other sharks aren't too on to that you can acquire and plug in for solid albeit not Boom-Goes-the-Dynamite production.

To me, the perfect candidate for this is Winslow Jr. I guarantee if I tried to shop him I wouldn't get anywhere near value for him. But all he does is get me 10-14 pts every friggin week -- that's amazingly consistent production for a TE.

If you're looking to upgrade the TE position, I highly recommend going after him as he's probably undervalued even by his owners.

So who do you have?

first guy I thought of was Housh. Plax has been very consistent for me this year. And I disagree about KW2 owners. They don't undervalue him, the LOVE him. Not like they aren't looking at the box scores every week and seeing what he does. He's very expensive to get IMO

I agree with Housh. At QB you gotta go with Brady. At RB I think your best bet is FWP. At TE, there's been no reason NOT to pick Gates.

on my roster, i love adp. even ronnie brown was 60 rushing/40 receiving b-4 blowing up. palmer is a plug-and-leave-in guy, as is c.j. and winslow.

sorry 4 the 1-hand typing

So for nominees so far we've got:

QB-Brady

RB- FWP

WR-Housh, Plax

TE-Winslow, Gates

K-Gost

What about some consistent Ds? Though I guess that varies a lot by scoring system...

Btw, just checked and Winslow is on pace for 1300+ receiving.

Evans has consistently disappointed. You can't get much more consistent than 1 catch/week.

On a serious note, at RB I don't think you can leave out McGahee. He's quietly been nothing but consistent while unspectacular.

I will also mention James Jones at WR for a PPR. This guy has been amazingly consistent as a fill-in.

TJ is the most consistant draft value player i have ever had. I have had him for 2 seasons in 3 leagues and he is a legit #1.. He does not strike fear in the team you are playing but he outscores their 1st or 2nd round player 14 out of 16 weeks.

He is  And its easy :kicksrock:

QB: Favre, Manning, Brady, and Romo

RB: FWP, Lamont Jordan, AD

WR: How was Moss left off the list? Agreed on TJ and Plex

TE: Gates, Winslow, and Witten (one poor week from Witten in week 2, though)

Yup. I had him last year too, and he was $$. Knew I could get him as WR2 this year and have him once again put up WR1 numbers.

McGahee is exactly the type of guy I was looking for in this thread. Not sexy, but consistent, yet I had no idea.

Was just about to say McGahee. I dont know for sure, but I believe he's gotten 120 total yards every week thus far. Including 100 yard bonuses (which he's only had once) and despite only 1 TD, Im pretty sure I've gotten at least 12 points from him each week (1/10 yards, no PPR), and usually between 14-15.And yes, as a KW2 owner, no way I undervalue him. I'm considering trading him to the owner who has Witten and Clark, and package one of them with Cotchery (his WR) for a deal, but Im not to sure I want to part ways with Winslow. 'Family Matters' is the clear #2 option, and at times the #1 option on that team. Thats certainly more than Clark and while Witten seems to be a Romo fave, they still got TO, Crayton, and MB3 gets a lot of catches (esp RZ) for a RB.I think Cotchery could be a consideration as well. He had a dud last week, but was averaging 95 yards a game going into week 5. Get Clemmens in there and some TD's, he'll be money.I also might nominate Edge, Favre, Fitz (to me a surprise bc I can't remember him being this consistent), Edwards, Ronnie B, Westbrook..maybe a few of those more than others, but from what I recall most have been more steady than not.ETA: I do think Winslow was undervalued going into drafts this season though. I grabbed him as the 10th TE taken I believe, maybe earlier, but got him at least a few rounds after the Heap/Shockey/Davis rush. Da Man just produces yards, and seems to be getting the TD's again after going scoreless I think the last 10 weeks or so last year

Favre and Driver. I get laughed at every year when I buy Driver, but he's always worth twice what I pay.

As for defense, it really depends on your scoring system. We're heavily weighted in points against being critical, and the Redskins have been very good if you ignore the second half of the Giants' game.

I personally and have seen others on the board who haven't been very happy with Driver's production. Despite Favre's stats, Jennings and Jones have about 550 yards and 4 TDs between them I believe. In years past, about 100-150 of those yards and 1-2 TDs would have been Driver'sMaybe its bc on his 2 good weeks he's been on my bench behind Wayne and Roy W, but his other 3 weeks I think he had 60 yards or less

Clinton Portis:

Code:
G	YDS TDMIA 98 1PHI 76 1NYG 97 1DET 91 0
And, IMO, he's just waiting to explode in a game. Probably won't be this week, but I still expect 90-100 yds and a TD vs. GB.

I put in a vote for Jason Witten. In my league here is his scoring:

1: 19.10

2: 3.20

3: 16.50

4: 14.60

5: 18.55

Besides week 2 he has been awesomely consistent. I have loved having him on my team thus far!

Marc Bulger and Lee Evans have been pretty consistent for me.....

I would say Addai, though maybe missing last week automaticially disqualifies him.

If he's in the lineup, he's good for 100+ total yards and at least 1 TD every week.

By my league's scoring (TD heavy, yardage bonuses, no ppr), here is the "all maxmin team": players with the best worst week, not counting byes:

QB: Brady

RB: Peterson, McGahee

WR: Houshmandzadeh, Burress, Marshall

TE: Winslow

K: Vinatieri

D/ST: New England

Another vote for Cotchery.

Unfortunately, I traded away Cotchery for another consistent (consistently bad) WR in L. Evans.

Burress has been money this year...SOLID GOLD! Of course, I have Burress, Wayne, and Driver, so I'm spoiled at WR in my dynasty league...

I second the Edge and Favre nominations.... Braylon too even... but Fitz, Ronnie and Westy i can't. They've been good, but not really consistent (especially not Ronnie Brown)
