With the 5.7 pick, FM selects:

J.Lewis-RB, Clev

While Lewis isn't a guy that excites me, the line he'll be running behind is. With the FA addition of Steinback, drafting of Thomas and potential return of Bentley, Lewis may surprise this year. SHould be decent value in the 5th round and as the 31st RB.

This is my replacement pick.

Too early for a DST, I know. But I really don't like what is on the board and would rather just take the points at this point.

Edit to add: My bad about Branch. I was trying to quickly make a pick before I left work and his name wasn't up top on the master list at the time. Nonetheless, my bad.

Wow! 5th round no less. This is the earliest I've ever seen a D/ST taken.
 
OK, I'm back - give me a few minutes now that the kids are asleep... gotta pick someone who isn't Vince Young...

Wow! 5th round no less. This is the earliest I've ever seen a D/ST taken.

The 5.13 is the 77th pick overall.Plus, with the few guys taken after my pick (because of my screw up), it was really like the 81st or 82nd pick overall. In a 12 team league, that would have been a late 7th round pick.

Now that is not even something I normally do in a 12 team league, but at least it isn't unheard of if it is truly a top DST.

After I found out Branch was gone, I looked over the WRs. In my opinion, in that next tier of WRs (which isn't all that great anyway), there are about 15 or more that are packed in together. So I didn't want to jump on one there.

QBs was pretty much the same (in my opinion) now that the top guys were gone there.

Already have two very strong RBs. And already had a top 3 TE.

So I just figured, what the heck. Take the points.

Maybe it wasn't the best move, but I just didn't feel comfortable with anyone else.

My response is more of "unexpected" and "surprised" :shock: as opposed to suggesting it's a bad pick. I won't criticize because it could easily be the best pick for you.
 
I will be away all day (doing a side job out in the field) and will have no access to a fancy thinkin' box. I've sent a PM to Domination with my round 6 choices. If by chance it gets back to me for round 7, he has those choices as well. See you at 6:00 pm.
