2007 NFL DRAFT Mocks & Info (1 Viewer)

I'm always eager to get ahead of the curve and read as much as possible about up and coming rookies. However, there are just way to many web sites with confliting opinions on this guy or that guy. I feel my most valuble tool is always the forum of coarce. But, I would like to read some more up to date information about Rookies. Does anybody know who's rookie information pans out the most. I guess who is the best prognosticator of rookie information. Is it Mel Kipper? Is it SI.com?

I'm partial to the Bloom 100, right here on this site though technically not a mock draft. Chaos Commish, coolnerd, Andy Dufresne and others I forget right now produce quality mocks as well and post in the Shark pool

Before FBG, I relied mainly on PFW (RIP Joel Buschbaum) and Draft Insiders (Frank Coyle) for raw scouting notes and supplemented that with a healthy, but tempered dose of pre-season notes from players, teammates, and coaches until I could watch the player in an NFL setting.

Since FBG, I pay very close attention to Bloom and CC. The other FBguys mentioned are solid too, but in the three pre-seasons I've been here, those two stand out IMO. We're unbelievably lucky to have them posting. I still favor Coyle among the professionals. I think PFW has fallen off some. I was impressed with Scouts, Inc/ESPN last year; we'll see if they just had a good season or have improved for the long haul.

Mock drafts are generally useless IMO, but most draftniks will tell you that Rick Gosselin tends to be on target with what look to be outlandish predictions the week before the draft that end up being correct. I'll let others chime in with less biased opinions on whom they feel forecasts IDP rookie value the best. I think this forum is high (and down) on the right players for the right reasons earlier than anywhere else.

I thank you for mentioning me with that crew, but I seldom produce NFL draft mocks. I guess at a couple FF mocks, and critique the work of others. The biggest skill I have is that I watch between 75-100 full college football games a year, not counting partials, and not counting bowls. Basically, of the 250 or so guys that get drafted, i will have seen 175-200 play in at least one regular game, and with the all-star games it comes down to maybe 25 or so guys who get drafted that I will have never seen play. In terms of the poster's original question, I love the contradictory nature of the imformation that I get in draft season, so I can only giving you the sites that I visit at least follow the work of. If say really believe in one over the other I would be not telling the truth. KiperThe huddlereportOurlads Scouts incdraftshowcasenfldraftcountdowndraftdaddygbnreport.com

Thanks for all the great advise concerning pre-draft information. I always rely on FBG Forum for solid information. When I begin my evaluation process I find so many conflicting and often bias opinions on different players. Lets take Jamarcus Rusell and Brady Quinn for example. No one argues they are both first rounders, if not top ten picks. However, most opinions are back and forth in regards to who is better. Rusell has freakish size and arm strength. While Quinn's mechanics are very impressive. Jamarcus tends to force the ball to much and create turn overs. Quinn's stats are only high VS. weaker opponents and very sub par VS. teams with wining schedules. most of teh time it depends on the sytems teh players fall into or ther surrounding cast that can impact teh players box scores in Fantasy terms. Thats why their true value is hard to predict this far out. So, we are purely evaluating skill sets and talent at this point in the year.
