Rules

The contest rules are very, very simple.

1. One entry per user name. To edit a selection, post a *CORRECTION*.

2. Select a NFL winner each week without duplicating the selection for the 2007 season. The weekly deadline is the team's kickoff.

3. All week 17 entries will include three total selections ranked by priority.

4. Correct selections advance to the next week. Losing selections are out. Missed entries are out.

I predict multipe winners in this contest. I know the field just got crushed, however, I see many a team with dominant teams left to pick.

What happens if more than one person makes it through 17 weeks? What's the tiebreaking procedure during NFL playoffs?

I was out a long time ago but here's a couple of possible tiebreakers.Weeks 14 - 16 everybody picks two teams.Week 17 everybody ranks the teams they haven't picked 1 to whatever. If everyone gets their first pick right then move to their 2nd pick and so on until all but one player is eliminated.

Hmmm.. Let me think on this. If needed, we will modify entries for the final two weeks. Let's just see if it's needed, first.BTW, only these enties are pending.. Herc + jpeace121 + valence + WolverineUpdate 33

I think the earlier we know the rules, the better it is. Our selections for weeks #13-15 might be affected by the tiebreaking procedure.

I went back to the prior year's suicide pools and I think the tiebreaker was option #2 listed by Utter Chaos, that is we rank teams we have not picked in week #17.

What happens if there is a tie? Do we move on when our team wins, or if our team does not lose?

Well it's judgmental of course. We are picking huge favorites every week. If a heavy favorite squeaks by due to questionable calls, luck, etc. then I would say you don't deserve it as much as those picking a favorite which crushes the opposition. Huge favorites should be able to win without that stuff.
 
i could probably go back through the thread and count it but you may already know...

Forgot to do this in all the holiday fuss, but I would have picked Arizona.

Wow, this pool is brutal! The concept seems easy on it's face, but it's so difficult in practice. I've never made it past week 8 in one of these things in the past, and I know that luck has had a big part to do with my still being in contention. Sorry to all that got blasted in the desert and good luck to the few of us that remain.

 
(TC...i assume you don't mind if we talk about the massacres and us being lucky this year.)

i'm with you Natty except that i've never made it to week 8. i was always good for about 5-6 weeks, but that's it.
