Not counting LT at #1, it seems like these RB's are everywhere. It doesn't seem like they are ranked as firmly as they have been in past years. Anyone else notice this?

1 RB LaDainian Tomlinson, SD

2 RB Steven Jackson, STL

3 RB Larry Johnson, KC

4 RB Frank Gore, SF

5 RB Brian Westbrook, PHI

6 RB Willie Parker, PIT

7 RB Shaun Alexander, SEA

8 RB Joseph Addai, IND

9 RB Reggie Bush, NO

10 RB Travis Henry, DEN

11 RB Rudi Johnson, CIN

12 RB Laurence Maroney, NE

If I don't get the #1 or #2 I want to be as late as possible this year. I'd love to pick up Henry and Maroney or Henry and McGahee.

I would add McGahee to the list and call it the "Bakers dozen".I agree that I have never seen a more interchangeable list at RB.

This is exactly why if you do not have the #1 or #2 pick it is way better to have a late pick.
I agree completely, but others seem to think that if you don't have a top pick, you can't compete. I was happy to get Parker at pick #11 recently, although I can see almost any order from 3-12. FWIW, Henry went to a team run by my co-owner of other teams at #13, but I almost took him at 11. It's somewhat odd though, there is turnover every year. We just predict it this year.

I always love playing this game!

1. LT - This guy is an ATM (Automatic Touchdown Machine)

2. SJax - Gotta like how this guy runs!

3. Alexander - Could be in for a HUGE year. He proved last year in the playoffs, he's healthy

4. Westbrook - If he could only STAY healthy

5. Parker - Possibly the most underrated RB in football

6. Gore - Took the league by storm last year

7. Travis Henry (in RB Heaven)

8. Larry Johnson (not high on him at all this year. Too many carries last year, and his contract situation is getting UGLY!)

9. Reggie Bush (only Deuce is keeping him down this far)

10. Rudi Johnson (As consistent as they get)

11. Joe Addai - Can he handle 300+ carries?

12 Lawrence Maroney - Meh..

interesting list, NO LJ?! IMO, its a mistake and too premature to write him off this season..it just shows how interchangeable RB's really are this season..mosts lists look different..I'd go:

1. LJ - without a contract, he'll run mean and angry , with a contract,he'll run mean and angry..could go for 2000 yards..

2. Sjax

3. Henry

4. LT - M. Turner will see more action in 2007, and I'm worried about LT not coming anywhere close to repeating 2006's historical stats. I think he reverts back to 2004's numbers, i.e, 1335-17, 3.9 per carry, 53-441-1...

5. Rudi

6. Ronnie Brown - great hands, good career ypc avg (4.3) while playing on bad teams. new coaches will find ways to utilize him more..

7. SA

8 . Betts - I don't think Portis plays much in 2007, that knee is a HUGE concern..

9. McGahee

10. Westbrook

11. Edge - 311 carries, 4.5 per, 1400 yards, 12 tds

12. Addai

That's great value in my opinion. I'm picking 11th in my league this year and would be thrilled if Parker fell to me. I'm guessing he goes Top 8, though. I agree with the original poster's point. I think there are a large number of RBs very close in value after the first five or so. So picking at the end of the first round this year features far fewer land mines than was the case last year in particular. I also think the RBs who range in the 15-25 area on most draft boards are also quite comperable so if you go WR in the second you can get a similar RB in the third as your RB2.

1800 yards and 18 TD's is not good enough for the top 3? No way Henry puts up numbers better than that.

This is why I'm probably taking Manning at #8...I think one of these guys may be there in rd 2.03. Then I get the best QB on the planet, and still get one of these 12 RBs...who are interchangeable anyway.

I don't think Manning is that much better than Palmer/Brady/Bulger this year. It depends on your league rules, but in PPR I think RB/WR from the #8 is the way to go. Or even RB/Gates depending on what WR is left.

Had to bump this, especially as the op was right in that the RBs were hardly firm in their position... and I remember a LOT of people down on Addai, high on Parker, and it seemed more arguments on the board about RBs than usual...Here is how they finished in my league...

1. Tomlinson, Ladainian SDC

2. Westbrook, Brian PHI

3. Peterson, Adrian MIN

4. Addai, Joseph IND

5. Lewis, Jamal CLE

6. Barber, Marion DAL

7. Portis, Clinton WAS

8. McGahee, Willis BAL

9. Graham, Earnest TBB

10. Gore, Frank SFO

11. Jones-Drew, Maurice JAC

12. Taylor, Fred JAC RB

13. Lynch, Marshawn BUF

14. Jackson, Steven STL

15. Grant, Ryan GBP

16. James, Edgerrin ARI

17. White, LenDale TEN

18. Parker, Willie PIT

19. Taylor, Chester MIN

20. Brown, Ronnie MIA

21. Jacobs, Brandon NYG

22. Watson, Kenny CIN

23. Fargas, Justin OAK

24. Bush, Reggie NOS

25. Jones, Thomas NYJ

26. Maroney, Laurence NEP

27. Jones, Kevin DET

28. Foster, De'shaun CAR

29. Davenport, Najeh PIT

30. Johnson, Larry KCC

The following RBs didn't even make the top-30 in my league

Shaun Alexander SEA

Travis Henry, DEN

Rudi Johnson, CIN

Laurence Maroney, NE

I believe this was the first year I've seen 2 rookie RBs make top-15

I said all along that Larry Johnson, Shaun Alexander, Rudi Johnson, Laurence Maroney, and Willie Parker were being overrated.

Reggie Bush and Steven Jackson disappointed.

I think I was the only guy that had Addai in my top-5. I was higher on Portis than I should have been (#2 versus #7)

And I wish I could've found the thread that had more rankings in it

You should take into consideration that Jacobs was injured for five games.

Also Larry and Rudi Johnson have played only 8 respectevely 11 games.

So you can't call them busts or overrated since they haven't played the whole season.

I think the biggest bust was Benson followed by Maroney.

And also Bush and Norwood have been far beyond expectations.

I had Bush, Parker and Gore on my dynasty team. From that preseason list, I had a top 5 guy and 2 other top 12 guys.

Week 17...none of them are ranked in the top 12 in my TD heavy scoring system. Having 3 guys, you'd think 1 would stay in the top 10 or so. Man, I just have no luck.

Oh and 2 years ago I traded away Westbrook. Too injury prone and small to be a full time back was the forum consensus....he'll be a future 3rd down back or RBBC only situation. Another blunder to add to my pain.

made me look up the scoring in my league:

LT

Westbrook

Addai

Peterson

Jamal Lewis

Portis

Barber

McGahee

Earnest Graham

Jones-Drew

wow. LT outscored Jones-Drew by ONE HUNDRED points. :)

1 Westbrook 167

1 Tomlinson 167

3 Peterson 138

4 Addai 121

5 Graham 99

5 Lewis 99

7 Barber 95

8 Portis 88

9 Brown 84

10 McGahee 81

11 Jones-Drew 78

12 Grant 75

13 Bush 74

14 White 67

Had to go down to LenDale so as to include both my starters.

I know you'll like this now that you know what it means:confused:

you will never get Jacobs this low againhe will be on this list of top-12
:pickle: most overrated player of 2007.
 in the games Jacobs has played in, he has played very well averaging over 100 all purpose yards a game. Most overrated has to be Maroney and Benson.
 Jacobs actually looked solid in the games he played. The Giants line has looked good....if they stay in tact Jacobs could be very good next year.

But people were saying he'd be top-10 and the naysayers were saying he was going to be injured a lot, which he was...ppg is meaningless if a guy misses 33% of the season...
