We are hosting the 2009 Shark Pool Survivor Contest here. This season we began with 583 entries. Now, 24 remain active. It is December and the field will quickly whittle down. (Or maybe not.)

The contest rules are very, very simple.

1. One entry per user name. To edit a selection, make a *correction* posting.

2. Select a NFL winner each week without duplicating the selection for the 2009 season. The weekly deadline is the team's kickoff.

3. Correct selections advance to the next week.

Great job TC, I been following FBG long be fore I joined and this is my first year to play this. It sure keeps games interesting outside of just chasing stats. I have a question that has surely been adressed in the past but I cant find the answer: Why does this stop in week 17? Seems it would really weed em out if you had to strategize the playoff teams too.

Thank you, sir. In 2010 we will have two simular, but very different contest. SHARK POLL WINNERS SURVIVOR and SHARK POLL LOSERS SURVIVOR contest. This will provide an option for those that prefer not to pick against the Lions or Bucs or Rams every single week.

My experiance with loser contests is that a large majority of the entries are eliminated in October, and that the winner is common in a tight race in December. With 500 starting entries, fewer than a dozen will be active December 01.

Cool TC I was kinda hoping you'd have a winners AND losers contest (i.e. you only get one shot at each) as this would definitely thin the herd quicker.Even though I'm not in, what's the deal with week 17. Pick games 1 through 6 or some such to try and knock folks out?

I'd prefer (if I'm still in it) that we continue in the playoffs. Only being able to pick a team once could really thin it out. I'd be willing to include the Pro bowl to get a winner.

Oh well no biggie. I'm gonna continue to do it on the side. My cheatsheet I have at work was penciled in for Philly and I would have moved on. When I saw TCs email I was actually hoping I had used Minnesota so I'd have to take the Chicago. Of course then I didn't choose Chicago and went with my "decent option" to rub it in more.Good luck to those that are left and thanks for running this again TC.
