I wanted to get to a point where if CT does do well that it's not too brutal but I'm enjoying Forte in the later rounds this year. I flat out don't believe CT is there to do anything but push him into being the same back he was as a rook. I'm hurting at WR but there's a pile left. You guys scarfed them up quick.I didn't see any value in WR now(quite poor IMO), just a desperate need so I skipped it.May bite me
I think you are absolutely right. I was thinking of grabbing him too.Great pick Bri.

The roster make up at this point is extraordinarily varied:

1) One team with four WRs

2) Three teams already with two team QBs

3) Two teams with three TEs

4) Six teams without an RB

5) One team with four RBs

Will definitely make for some scrambling at various positions.

:thumbdown:IMO this is the best thing about this format.

The interesting thing is that the net result is that value is extremely balanced. I haven't seen one position get out ahead in terms of value for the whole draft so far; I've had multiple positions to consider at every pick (even though I wound up going WR each time). I think we've become pretty savvy over the years.

:goodposting:Without looking back, I'm pretty sure that the pace of both QB and RB selections is a bit less than in prior seasons.

The scrambling is going to be particularly bad at TE. With 8 TEs already condensed into just 3 teams, there are 16 TEs gone at this point and still at least 18 to be drafted, with 5 teams still needing two TEs. TE tends to be the position with the largest spread in this format, and those teams who get stuck taking the TE dregs are really going to be at a disadvantage IMO. Obviously it can work if you hit a home run late, but the odds are against it.

That seems to be about the only worthwhile scenario now. (There's no roster limits per position right?) I suppose one could draft a slew of average veterans and hope they sum up to being a total TE but...

- Rosters will be comprised of 2 TEAM QB, 4 RB, 5 WR, 2 TE, 1 FLEX (RB/WR/TE), 2 PK, 2 DEF

Thanks.I've seen some gaudy predictions for CT on the web but when it comes down to it, I have not seen a single pick that dictates that anyone truly/genuinely believes CT will get a giant chunk of their production at RB.He's talented (but old) and if one wasn't a Forte fan then sure I can see the prediction but amidst a draft (putting your 'money' where your mouth is) I haven't seen CT picked anywhere near what I feel is solid production territory.I've been meaning to look at where he was drafted last year backing up ADP and maybe even go back to when he was in Baltimore.

 Good run on getting picks in today guys, let's get what we can tonight and have another good run tomorrow!

PS - not that some will care, but I think comments about the draft which help other drafters, criticize specific picks, mention specific undrafted players or might otherwise influence some draft picks are below the standards of this usually excellent group of drafters......and I realize I may be on an island other than Revis.

Hey, man, it's all about the smack talk, it's not a money league.I will note that once again, the two guys before me knocked out two of the three guys on my pre-draft list (Moreno and Jacobs). Fortunately Shockey was my first choice. Good drafting, folks.

Similar story here. I first hoped for the Vikings Team QB, but Duckboy took care of that... then I set my sights on Shockey... and you took care of that. There have been a few head scratcher picks (besides my own :moneybag: ), but for the most part I think it has been good drafting.

I'm headed out for a long weekend; I'm not sure what my net connectivity will be. I'll predraft what I can.

Okay, pick is in. I see I'm actually kinda stacked at RB, :lmao: , I'll take it. :hot:

I had moose for dinner last night. It was actually very good...after I stopped thinking about the beast. Anybody ever eat a moose?

I had moose steak once prepared like beef by a French style chef and it was Excellent

OTOH the moose burgers I had once in Montana were :hot: pukalicious

Nice. Yeah, they had this cranberry sauce to go along with it...delectable. This chick, a musher, was celebrating her retirement from the Air Force in a killer new cabin. The other thing that was great was the cheesecake; smothered in freshly picked blueberries. Mmmmmm, good stuff. Later on at the bar, I got hammered, hitting on this Athabaskan chick. Fun. I actually got a boner dancing with her. :jawdrop: The funny part was that I showed her. :lmao:Alaska is Awesome.

geesh I know TE scoring is especially high in this league but holy .. I was ready to draft the Giants practice squad TE and hope for the best. WOW you guys got me there.

Here's hoping all your RBs stink and I can cover the TE loss that way :-)

I have a business trip the next two days, leaving early Monday and returning late Tuesday night. My email and internet access from my computer will likely be spotty, maybe better on my phone but I won't be able to draft from my phone. I will try to redraft where possible and check in as often as I can. I may reply to all on the automated emails to ask that David make a pick for me if I can't get to the league site.

Are we actually on a timer right now?

Yes, the timer was put on days ago. You can reply to any of the emails or post who you want in this thread if you can't get into the MFL site.

Had some once, odd felt like I wanted it to be (cow) steak and it wasn't.I used to watch em' swim oh so slowly across lake champlain (or was that an elk?) which was pretty cool. Head and antlers above water looked like driftwood til they got close. They are surprisingly huge animals.

Hey guys, I just wanted to say thanks. This has been quite beneficial as a distraction.

Glad to hear it, keep your head up.Hey guys, let's not let the rest of the draft decay into robots; it would suck if some auto-pick winds up being the sleeper everyone was looking for. If you pre-draft at this point you're very likely to get your guy. After missing out on Longwell it looks like I'll have only one token Bear on my roster this year. Maybe I can get a defense with a Cal player or two.

Will Ta'ufo'ou still on the board. Potential SOD.

Rackers was a nice fit actually, with my bullishness on Houston and all. I don't care about any risk related to him getting the job as I screwed up my draft earlier anyway...kind of knew that would happen with the traveling and zero prep, oh well. I would be a loser if this were a priority. No, BIGGER loser, haha.

My simple strategy early on was to just go for positions that people weren't plucking yet, and let the cards fall as they may. And, I wanted to try and pick playoff teams moreso than years prior. I knew how TE-crazy this league is so I didn't see the point of chasing that run, especially not when the party had started without me. Kept on with the contrarian thing and took RBs, appeared to be value there, seeing all the WR's go and stuff. So, the auto-picks weren't THAT bad when I first saw them (RBs). Although Ben Tate looks like it's gonna leave a mark. Maybe I'll get lucky with him -- I do like getting another Houston player. If just he or Brown could end up the starter, great! I was taking Sheffler there so we'll see what that difference nets.

Check it out, on THREE occasions early in the draft, I had players fall to me who I was considering the round prior, so I was very happy. And then I thought, man, I might be way off if that's going on, haha. Regardless, I like to gamble more in this format so my picks usually reflect that, like Spiller for instance. I mean who really cares if you don't win the thing and I can't see a conservative approach getting it done.

Just remembered, CalBear took Shockey from me, that one hurt a bit. All in all though, not many of my guys got sniped like I expected, or has happened in the past. Obviously different strategies than the guys beside me, and with their track record(s), I strongly suspect my goose is cooked. :bye:

In the end, this again has been the best way for me to get ready for the money drafts later this month. Works every year, thanks David. :wall:

Are moose good swimmers? Hmm, I'll have to ask. Yeah, probably one of the cooler animals you can see in person. Larger than you think and so unique. This biologist was telling me how once they are a year old, a grizzly won't even try anymore, too big. At least not in Denali, grizzlies don't get nearly as large here, topping out at maybe 750 pounds. No fish to eat. No fish, no size. I also like how moose are pretty stupid animals. A moose would draft Ben Tate in the 5th if it could. Awesome antlers on them, too. Antlers are great, I would love a pair.

I love Ta'ufo'ou; upgrade any RB for Chicago if he wins the starting job.But I'm roster-locked, can't take another RB. (I'd go for Lynch if I could).
13.16 208. Pimpin' Ain't Easy Lynch, Marshawn BUF RB Tue Aug 10 1:56:40 a.m. ET 2010
Check the time stamp; I made that comment 5 minutes before PAE snarfed him.(Anyway, like I said I'm roster-locked.)Can we draft punters? I'd take Nick Harris.

Exactly. Some of us are not roster locked yet.

If you're suggesting that PAE took Lynch because of my comment, I think that's not likely; he hasn't been on the forums much. (In fact, last seen July 22). Frankly, in this format I think Lynch is a pretty weak pick. In 90% of the scenarios he won't crack the top 50 in WR/RB scoring. Scrub WRs are a lot more likely to make a difference than scrub RBs. But, I'm sometimes willing to take a flier on a Cal player who might not be the optimal pick at a particular spot.

Well, I just helped you guys out a little. I was quite happy to draft Lynell Hamilton in the 16th... until I found out he likely tore his ACL this morning.

I think we just established the first kicker battle between our teams. Sonny took Rackers earlier and Old Milwaukee just took Kris Brown. Those two are battling for the Houston kicker spot, so either one of those teams will get nothing at a kicker spot or they will both get substandard points if Houston ends up keeping and using both this season for some reason.

Very happy wit Davonne Bess this late. Now if I am successful grabbing my two sleeper QBs I will be all set.
