2010 Atlanta Braves (1 Viewer)

Really interesting point from Joe P:

*This leads to a fascinating point — it probably would be to the Phillies advantage to lose to the Braves Sunday. If they lose, there’s a chance for this three-team, two-game playoff, which could utterly wreck the rotation of the team facing the Phillies in the playoffs. Baseball should not have a system where LOSING is better for a team than WINNING. But we’re in uncharted territory here.

Plus, the Phillies want the Braves in the playoffs. There's some small chance the Phillies would lose a series to the Giants or the Padres. There is an absolute zero chance the Braves beat the Phillies in a best of 3/5/7/9/11/13/15/111 game series. If I'm the Phils, I'm calling Steve Carlton and Mitch Williams and seeing if they want to pitch today while the entire starting line up sits.

Pretty sure this is incorrect.

Congrats to Bobby and the Braves. They might get swept by the Giants but I'm glad to see he gets another shot at the playoffs in his final season.

The Phils are learning what the Braves learned 15 years ago. Winning the WS once is hard; winning it multiple times is markedly harder.
