little bit of trivia for you:

last time rams had no. 1 pick they picked a QB - and made him a RB. he lasted 3 years.

17. San Francisco (8-8) -- From Carolina (8-8)*

We'll see what Everette Brown amounts to next year, but I'm feeling better that this pick wasn't a top 10 like it was looking a few weeks ago.

Congrats to the Bills who once again did poorly enough to be in the bottom third of the league but good enough to not actually get a true stud in the draft. This will make 5 straight years that they've picked in the 8-12 range.

Gresham and/or Bryant could very well be there.

I know. For awhile this looked huge. I still like the deal from a 49er point of view but those last wins over the Vikings, Giants, and Saints were rough to take. Instead of 8-8, 6-10 or even 5-11 looked possible for the Panthers and as you said a top 10 selection.

Last time the Rams had the #1, they drafted Orlando PaceThey Rams have NEVER drafted a QB in the first round (of the modern NFL)

Bradford goes to Rams, Skins or some GM is doing cartwheels on draft day
With all the needs Washington has, if Bradford is available at 4, they could look to trade down. Teams picking 6-14 have a QB need and could provide a nice bidding war for Bradford (or Clausen) at 4. Or Washington could just take him. I'd prefer they didn't.

I feel similar about the 49ers. I'm hoping they don't package the two #1s they have to move up for a QB. I'd much rather see them address other areas of need.

Could you see both Claussen and Bradford going in the top 5? Even with Suh, Berry, McCoy, and OKung available?

ETA: The reason I ask is that I want Bradford to be a Seahawk! Make it happen, Un-named GM!

i was wrong. it was not the last time the rams had the no. 1 pick. however, in 1963 with the no. 1 pick, the rams selected terry baker, qb, heisman trophy winner

That's actually a pretty desirable spot. Get into the Top 5 and trading partners usually shy away if they wanted to trade and it's not a spot where you have to pay out insane money for signing bonuses.

They better not and Scot knows his fans would be livid if they did. The Niners are actually in a great spot with plenty of leverage but if they stand pat they'll be able to get an OT, S/DB and potentially a slot receiver / kick returner playmaker (hopefully not in the first round).I think the Rams take Suh and then Washington has their choice of Clausen or Bradford (as long as trades don't mix up the top 4) which means Clausen will be Shanny's new project!

I sort of consider the 1970 merger the begining of the modern era.. They also drafted Roman Gabriel 50 years ago.. (in the first round)..
