2010 East/West Shrine Game (1 Viewer)

FYI, the game is on ESPN2 on Saturday at 2PM CST.

Thanks for the info Cecil. Got my DVR set, excited to watch some of these guys, but it seems the QB play may hold the receivers back based off your reports

Yeah, QB play is pretty bad. I like the small school guys (Skelton, Nicholls) more than I do the big school guys (Clark, Hall, Reesing)

Watched three quarters. None of the skill guys really jumped off the screen.

Barnes reminds me a bit of a Keenan McCardell/TJ Houshmandzadeh type. He could be a good possession guy somewhere. I'll be curious to see what kind of 40 time he runs. He looked a little bit slow off the line, but he's a pretty big target and he moves pretty well.

The DLs were really the stars of the game until the last quarter. Agree with the general assessment of the sills players. A couple flashed for a play here or there, but nobody showcased truly unique skills.

Love me some Freddie Barnes, but he didn't have a WOW game. Final quarter had all the action on offense. Blair White made some big catches, coming back to the ball on the sidelines, making tough catches over the middle. TE Dennis Pitta had the most consistent hands out of the bunch.TE Andrew Quarless had a great one-handed catch on third and six to continue the game winning drive. He then caught the game winning touchdown at the back of the end zone over the outstretched arm of a defender. He showed good concentration to bring in the pass, and good body control to come down in bounds.

My boy Schofield had a pick. Not a bad day for him.
Lots of positive buzz about Schofield from the scouts I talked to.
Very cool. Lande over at sporting news said he was easily the best player on the East roster. My take:Has a high motor. Good athlete. Can really set the edge. Coverage will be the question mark going into the NFL, as he was never asked to do that as a DE in college. But early returns look good on the transition. It'll be interesting to see how it shakes out for him.
