Well, technically, nobody listed him in their top 3. They listed him as a sleeper, and that is exactly what he is.As far as why I might be overhyping him, as a Bills homer, i watched him rip us apart. While doing so i had dejavu, and couldnt figure out why. Then it occured to me that i have seen undersized, unknown RB's tear my Bills defense apart late in the season before. Those two players were Brian Westbrook five years ago, and Willie Parker a two years later. I cant help but to see similarities in Bradshaw and Westbrooks running style. Also, did anyone see Bradshaw carry a DT on his back for 3-4 yards in the Packers game?Bradshaw will suddenly turn into a top 3 RB?I like the kid, but this love is incredible...
I was going to post this in one of the numerous threads around here that praises this guy as the next LT but I'll just ask it here, what is with all of this love???Did he have a great game against Buffalo week 16? Yep. Did he have a solid playoffs where he made some impressive runs and was part of an effective committee with Brandon Jacobs? Yep. When did this guy become an all world, steal of 2007 draft running back? He had all of 25 touches in the regular season, and then split carries with Jacobs in the playoffs, where both ran behind an very good offensive line. I just don't get where all of the love on this board (not just this thread) is coming from with this guy. I've seen Jet fans on homer forums talking about this upcoming draft, saying how they want to take fliers on under the radar RBs hoping "to land the next Bradshaw." I just fail to see where the hype is coming from after so few professional touches thus far in his career.
There sure are a lot of players with Brian Westbrook's running style out there. Rashard Mendenhall, Felix Jones, Ahmad Bradshaw, and Jerious Norwood have all been said to have running styles like Westbrook. Anyone else find this odd?Well, technically, nobody listed him in their top 3. My comment wasn't necessarily criticizing anybody for having him as a 2010 sleeper, just questioning the excess love he has been getting over the last few months (I just chose to make the comment here vs. in the Bradshaw thread because it piggybacked on another poster's statement.) The fact that people are mentioning him in this thread as a possible sleeper is just a testament to the hype he's been getting here in the Shark Pool IMO. He looked very good in the playoffs, but I want to see how much playing time he gets next season (especially if the Giants resign Ward) and what he does with it before I'd consider that he may develop into a full time back. That said, I'm going to try and use the hype surrounding him to move up in the draft...Well, technically, nobody listed him in their top 3. I cant say i have seen many similaraties to Westbrook in any of those players, i could see maybe Norwood, but not really even him. Certainly not Mendenhall, he is much bigger than Westbrook, and not nearly as "shifty".There sure are a lot of players with Brian Westbrook's running style out there. That would mean he's top 3 in 2001, 2004, 2007 and 2010. Not many RBs can do it, but it can be done.Emmitt Smith may have done it, 1990-1999; or 1991-2000; but I'm not sure he was top 3 in 90 or 2000.Curtis Martin appears to have been, 95, 98, 2001, 2004. Fred Taylor didn't, but only because of injury in 99 and 2001. It can be done, but I'm not betting on it. Peterson - anyone saying otherwise has to be predicting injury.McFaddenSJaxMoreno - why not, I'll climb on the train. Sleeper for now, won't be a sleeper in 2010and I'm surprised to see nobody pick him:LT - will be 30 years old but takes care of himself as good as anyone
When I started this thread and put Bradshaw as my sleeper (not top 3), I did this for more than just his hot run at the end of the season and playoffs. Reasons I think he could become a factor:Scouting report- he has many of the under rated qualities needed to succeed- vision, footwork- compared to Emmit Smith, leg drive- continues to keep moving forward after the first hit, shuttle drill time- I think it is more important for a RB to excel in a 10 yard spurt in traffic vs time the the 40 yd dash. Stock dropped for what seemed like minor issues for a young man at his age.Do not think Jacobs is going to pan out as the full time feature back.Giants O-line and running game.I drafted him as a flyer in my dynasty start up this year because of these reasons, time will tell.Bradshaw will suddenly turn into a top 3 RB?I like the kid, but this love is incredible...

I thought about him, but 2 reasons I think hold him back. Serious injury and his only big year was with Cam, who is now gone.31 replies and not 1 mention of Ronnie Brown - wowRonnie BrownLTSJaxSleeper: Michael Turner

Brown did not have a big year with Cam Cameron unless you consider 600 yards a big year. Generally top-3 lists are reserved for RBs with talent... or in the case of PPR top-3 lists, RBs that are either talented or catch a lot of balls. LenDale fails to qualify on both counts.Edit: Look at the list of RBs who were still producing in 2007 after being productive in 2004. It's short, and generally reserved for the HoFers or, at the very least, the HoVGers- the real elite talents, the Tomlinsons, Taylors, and Edgerrin Jameses of the world. Do you really think that LenDale White and his 3.7 career ypc are that caliber of player?I already have seen my list a few times, so no need to post, but hasn't anyone mentioned Len Dale yet?
I see your point, but the guy did have over 300 carries in a season where he split time. had 7 games with 20+ carries and two were 30+. that's a lot of trust for a second year back guys a work horse. I think he\s atleast worth consideration.Generally top-3 lists are reserved for RBs with talent... or in the case of PPR top-3 lists, RBs that are either talented or catch a lot of balls. Sleeper - Chris Henry
Umm, did you read the thread title?Steven Jackson
Willis McGahee
MB III
Sleeper: LaDainian Tomlinson. People seem to think he's winding down (he's not on any lists I saw in this thread) but I think, with Lorenzo Neal healthy and playing (?) LT will have a very storng showing in 2008.
What does amount of carries.... nevermind. Obviously carries = production, and therefore, the most trusted RB will have the best chance of becoming a stud.I see your point, but the guy did have over 300 carries in a season where he split time. had 7 games with 20+ carries and two were 30+. that's a lot of trust for a second year back guys a work horse. And John Kitna had 596 pass attempts in 2006. That's a lot of trust for a QB, and he has a history of high-attempt seasons (he has played 16 games 4 times, and has ranked 1st, 2nd, 4th, and 7th in attempts in those 4 seasons). Is he worth consideration for top-3 QBs three years from now? And Chris Chambers gets an INSANE amount of targets- just think how much trust that shows! He should be strongly considered for any top-3 WR polls of this nature, right? It's not about how many attempts you get, it's about what you do with those attempts when you get them, and LenDale (like Kitna and Chambers) is, to put it bluntly, TERRIBLE with the attempts that he's given. Even more than that, the NFL is a league where talent always wins out. LenDale has yet to show any major talent, which leads me to question whether he'll even still be in the league three years from now.Like I said, look at the list of RBs who start for more than 3 consecutive seasons. Looking at this year's top 20 fantasy producers, the only guys who were also in the top 20 in 2004 are Tomlinson, Westbrook, Portis, McGahee, Edgerrin James, and Fred Taylor. That's the complete list. Do you really think that LenDale White is in the same stratosphere, talent-wise, as those notables?brednbuddah said:I see your point, but the guy did have over 300 carries in a season where he split time. had 7 games with 20+ carries and two were 30+. that's a lot of trust for a second year back guys a work horse. On side note, LT has been in the top 10 in rushing yards every year of his career.
