Two just went down in one of my leagues with our roster cutdown approaching. Pretty complicated rules. IMO, trades make sense for all parties.
Starters: 1 QB, 1 RB, 3 WR, 1 TE, 2 O-Flex, 1 K, 3 DL, 3 LB, 3 DB, 1 D-Flex.
Roster Cutdown Max Keepers (25 Total): 3 QB, 3 RB, 5 WR, 3 TE, 3 K, 5 DL, 5 LB, 5 DB.
Max Contract Years (before returned to FA pool): 5 years for drafted players. 3 years for FA pick-ups. All players involved were drafted last season (w/ 4 years left) except for James Anderson (2 years remaining).
Notable Scoring: 6pt all tds. 1 PT/Rec (1.5 for TEs). Points to players for return yards (1/40 yards kick return; 1/20 yards punt return). Heavy Defensive Scoring: 2pt/tackle for LBs. 3pt/tackle for DEs.
Team A gives:
LB James Anderson
Team B gives:
QB Kyle Orton
Notes: Team A managed to win the league championship w/ Eli Manning/Jon Kitna combo last year. Didn't really have anyone behind Manning. Pretty strong at LB. Who will step-up and start is a question with a mixture of young guys and guys recovering from injuries: Ray Lewis/Demeco Ryans/Barrett Ruud/Clint Sessions/Darryl Washington/Jamar Chaney/Donald Butler. Team B has Aaron Rodgers and was questionable at LB after Curtis Lofton (the only other big scorer he had was Paris Lenon and we'll see if he gets the same about of snaps next year).
Team C gives:
LB Patrick Willis
RB Marshawn Lynch
TE Kellen Winslow
Team D gives:
WR Miles Austin
WR Davone Bess
DE Cliff Avril
Notes: Team C most likely would've cut Lynch because of roster restrictions (has Rice/McFadden/Hillis) and still has Puz/DQwell/Fletcher/Hawthorne at LB and Finley at TE. Team C now has Lawrence Jackson & Avril to battle out DE3 spot. Team C's WR core is now Austin/Harvin/Dez/Bess/AJ Green. Team D still has Bowe/Mike Thomas/Mike X. Williams (Sea) at WR. Huge upgrade at LB for Team D w/ no #1 LB on the roster. Beanie Wells was Team D's 2nd RB before Lynch was added. #3 RB pre-trade was either Hardesty/Woodhead/Forsett. Team D's #1 TE pre-trade was Celek.
