Strange trade... I like Team B though, Spiller and Ford both have great potential
I like Spiller/Ford side as well. It's basically Spiller/Ford for Green..
I'm really high on Jacoby Ford, but that is still a small price to pay for AJ Green in my opinion. Great trade for the guy who got AJ.
Green is worth a 1st overall rookie pick. I'd say Spiller is worth a mid 1st rounder at least. And Ford is probably worth a late first rounder...I guess the trade is a little more even than I thought.

At the time of the trade, these were all initial vet picks and rookie picks in the inaugural draft. The players listed are who was selected in those spots.

This is a HUGE point to make and I would want to see the draft and whom I could have selected to fully value the deal.

good to see a CJ3 trade since i'm debating putting him on the block.seems like a pretty even trade and if Mathews takes a big step forward this year or next, i would love the Nicks side

Really ? Cutler is like an 11th-12th round start up pick - Rodgers a 1st round start up.One 1st projects from pick 5-8 and the other projects from 9-12.Seems like you should get more for a guy everyone loves and is a 1st round dynasty start up pick in most drafts.

6 per TD pass and I'd go Rogers. If it is 4 per pass Td give the other side easily.

I feel like Rodgers is over hyped, still valuable and a top QB pick, but a bit over valued, and Cutler is under valued. Maybe you're right.. I guess it depends on the situation. If you're in the running, you should gladly upgrade from Cutler to Rodgers. But if you already had Brees, or Brady, or someone else along those line, you now have to make another trade in order for it to make sense. If I'm not in the running, I think I take the picks, although it is a fairly even trade... I think most around here are going to jump on the Rodgers side. Especially since everyone hates Cutler.. And to think, 2 years ago, I was trying to temper the Cutler love on these very boards, I had like 20 people jumping up and down on my head because I refused to drink the koolaid.. Now everyone hates him..

Gotta say team B
team B by a mile...whitehurst gerhart and mcknight are all worthless. Moreno and Greene are close in a ppr but I would lean greene in uncertainty moreno if things end up good for him plus u get welker.

I've got a mancrush on Wallace, so take this with a grain of salt. But I'd never trade him basically straight up for an unproven rookie, even one as talented as Green. But I value Wallace as a top 5 WR.

PPRTeam A Gave: Mike WallaceTeam B Gave: AJ Green, 2012 2nd (projects 8-12)
During a dynasty startup this offseason I traded Wallace for AJG and a 2012 1st. I liked it for me and I love AJG, but I was still on the fence about it. I don't think I could do it with a 2nd. Especially a projected late 2nd.

Thought I would bump this for thoughts. I personally like to move out of the 1st in dynasty startups, but does anyone else feel differently?
Given you chose slot 10 in the Kentucky Derby process and there was a top RB with no risk factors that dropped to you (Rice) why did you follow through with the trade? It seems like if you were going to trade out no matter what, you might pick an earlier slot to get more value for it. That might make it more of a discussion?

I knew going in that I was either going to double up in the 2nd and 3rd or get Rodgers or Calvin (didn't expect Calvin to be there at ten, but had he fallen...). When Rodgers was gone, i definitely decided to trade. I was just thinking more of a discussion about whether or not a 1st rounder is worth as much in dynasty as a redraft. I don't think it is.

I recently did a start up and traded the player I took at 1.09, plus lots of other stuff, to end up with 3 picks in the 2nd and a player drafted in the 3rd.

I feel like I have a stronger core group of players that I can build around... much more so than if I just drafted from my spot (picks traded 33, 40, and 57... plus other stuff)

So I guess I do agree that a late 1st in a dynasty is not worth as much as redraft. I know that in redraft the goal is to acquire as many Top50-60 players as possible, but in Dynasy, there was only about 30 players that I wanted to build around and feel fortunate to grab 4 of them... if i stayed pat i would have got 3 not 4.

YMMV

12 team 5 keeper PPR

I trade: Knowshon Moreno

I receive: #75 overall pick

Yeah, I didn't get much but I wasn't going to keep him anyway

PPR League

Gave:

Benson

Rob Gronkowski

Dion Lewis

Plaxico Burress

Got:

Crabtree

Lee Evans

I have a stacked team and also need to drop a lot of players before the season starts. Benson was my #4RB and Gronko was my #3TE, I like both Crabtree and Evans as buy low guys this offseason.

You had to qualify that because you think you're trading something good? Lewis only has value to a McCoy owner, IMO, and Gronk is the only other player worth anything at all. You destroyed the other guy on this deal.

I'm curious as to opinions on this. I think I overpaid a bit in trading for Santonio Holmes, but I'm high on him and I hope it will make sense for my team. (12 team, 1 ppr)

Gave:

Jordy Nelson

Steve Smith (Car.)

Joseph Addai

Rookie 1.10

Got:

Santonio Holmes

Rookie 3.01

I personally like the Santonio side, but don't know that I would have included either Smith or Nelson (one or the other). Still probably a nice deal. But I'm the resident higher-on-Holmes-than-anyone-else guy here

You're probably right. I wonder if the deal could have got done without one of those 2 guys, but I guess I'll never really know. My team is pretty young so it made sense to me to try to get value for Addai/S. Smith, but not sure I got enough value here unless Holmes takes it up a level. Like you, I think he will. If he's more of a 70 catch guy going forward, I definitely overpaid.
