Nice10 team PPR - start 1QB/3WR/2RB/TE/K/DTGave: Chris Johnson/Ringer/2011 1.7 rookie pickReceived: Fitz/MatthewsA little thin at RB now, but I'm high on Fitz/Matthews.
Hope you're wrong on Matthews. I saw the window of opportunity closing to get Fitz and I'd targeted him hard for this offseason. This particular league is nearly impossible to trade in. One more:Gave: CasselReceived: BrittDuring the Britt/Thug hysteria. I like it. Cassel is a bit underrated IMO, but very replaceable, especially in a 10-teamer. Britt has a much higher upside.Hope you're wrong on Matthews. Prefer Team B. He's got enough talent at WR to gamble on Britt, plus now he doesn't have 2 Dallas WR's. Of course he does have 2 KC WR's, which is even worse. But Bowe could be playing elsewhere in 2012. Team A on the otherhand didn't have the depth to afford a 2-for-1 swap at wideout (ignoring Dickson who is nothing special). So not really understanding why Team A would make this deal, especially since he isn't strong enough at RB to start 4 backs.PPR - 1 QB, 1-4 RB, 1-4 WR, 1-4 TE, 1 K, 1 D (9 total)
Team A Traded: Kenny Britt, Jon Baldwin
Team B Traded: Miles Austin, Ed Dickson
Team A After:

I was Team A here and you touched on both points. Normally, I completely agree that I couldn't afford a 2 for 1 (not just at WR but pretty much anywhere as that team is devoid of talent and depth). But, you mentioned how team B could afford to "gamble" on Britt. I couldn't. I acquired him before his recent string of arrests and, while he's "safe" at this point for his current actions, I couldn't afford for him to crap out. While I like Baldwin, I'm not as high on him as some are and he doesn't crack my top 20-25 WRs yet. Austin is easily a top 5 WR so moving a very risky Britt and a WR prospect was easy for me to do. Unless both WRs do well (i.e., both end up top 15) or one of them breaks into the top 5, I feel pretty comfortable with the Austin side. I actually love Britt's talent (which is why I bought in the first place), but simply can't afford the risk that Team B could. At the same time, I can easily see why he did it.'Dawg Pound 69 said:Prefer Team B. He's got enough talent at WR to gamble on Britt, plus now he doesn't have 2 Dallas WR's. I'm Team A here. Hated trading Spiller/Baldwin and was on the fence about this one. I'm a big fan of both, but with Spiller as my RB5 and Britt as my only young potential stud, I had to make a move. It's very hard to pry WRs away from guys in this league, so I got what I felt was the best I could get. Seems pretty even to me, and I'm a believer in Dez's talent. He's not worth much more than Mike.12 Team PPRTeam A gave: Tampa Mike & Matthew StaffordTeam B gave: Dez Bryant & DeMarco Murray.Team B needed QB pretty badly.
You paid too much IMO... but *only* if that 1st does turn out to be top 3. If that's the case, then I think you gave too much. If those 1sts are in the bottom 5 or 6, you did fine. And I have Nicks even with Calvin. Time will tell on this one, but if you want an uberstud, you pay uberstud price, so kudos for getting your guy.If Sidney Rice signs with anyone other than the Bears, Rams, or Pats (unlikely), his value stays he same or plummets (imagine him on the Panthers? Ugh.) Love Ford, but he's the type of player that no matter how much I love, I'm not going to let him get in the way of aqcuiring a guy like Nicks. He's still a question mark, and this league doesn't even get return yards to boost his value.I'm willing to trade two mystery firsts and a popular "sleeper" at WR to upgrade from Rice to Nicks. And now I've got 3 of my top 5 dynasty WR's...and the 3 youngest ones--Calvin, Nicks, amd Wallace. Along with Miles, Finley, CJ2K, and Stafford, I'm willing to overpay a bit to lockdown the final piece to my team's core for the future.Although I don't think I overpaid. There are some who believe that Nicks value is almost rivaling Calvins in Dynasty.

Interesting in my league the guy who had Steve Johnson before dealing him in this trade was offered 1.07, 1.09 and 2012 future 1st for S-Johnson and turned it down.People just don't want to trade established players for picks in my league because they want to try and win and taking picks lessens that chance for this year. Why? I think he made the right move. Best case scenario for 1.09 is a guy who ends up being a top 15 receiver or so, isn't it? And even if the late firsts hit at 50% (I don't think they do even that well) that's one Steve Johnson out of it, with a 2012 1st. Why do that when you can actually have the top 15 receiver for a couple years right now?The only way you do that deal is if you know someone in your league likes to tinker in the rookie draft and you can move them for something that you would LOVE to move SJohnson for. In which case you're more of a middle man.Interesting in my league the guy who had Steve Johnson before dealing him in this trade was offered 1.07, 1.09 and 2012 future 1st for S-Johnson and turned it down.People just don't want to trade established players for picks in my league because they want to try and win and taking picks lessens that chance for this year. Why?
