QB - Freeman, Bradford, Hasselbeck

Waited too long to take a QB, so I needed to secure 3 options. Should have taken one in Round 8, since I knew the run was coming. But with 1 starter at QB, this crew should be able to do OK in best ball.

RB - Foster, Hillis, D Thomas, Tomlinson, Snelling.

Love the RBs here. 1 uberstud RB and two very solid ones, and all 3 of them will play 5 weeks. Tomlinson could help out if he gets one of those 6 catch type games. Going in I knew I was going to get Foster and I was pretty sure I was going RB in round 2. The only way that would change was if Witten or Rodgers slipped.....didn't come close to happening. In this format with only 2 WR starts and 2 flexes, I think having 3 solid backs is critical. I picked the 2 spot even with the reversal, since I think it is a very big advantage to trot out Foster (or Rice) each week and pencil in 20+ points.

WR - R White, Harvin, N Washington, D Nelson, Sims-Walker, Nannee, Evans.

White is solid, but the rest are a little suspect. I paid here a little securing RBs and TEs. But with only 2 WRs required to start and I likely have one flex coming from RB, I should be able to come up with a decent WR2 score.

TE - V Davis, Olsen, Heap

Like the TEs. Davis is a stud, Olsen is also a solid option with all the passing in CAR.

K - Kasay, Henery, Barth

D - PIT, IND, TB

Have 3 options at K and D, always a must in best ball. None share a week 6-9 bye so I will have at least 2 options every week.

Tough draft. This team is decent and has a chance to advance.

Roethlisberger, Ben PIT QB 11 7.02

Kolb, Kevin ARI QB 6 13.02

Moore, Matt MIA QB 5 17.02

- This should do. Looking back, wish I would've waited another set of rounds and grabbed Manning and one of Freeman/Bradford instead of taking Roethlisberger, but I'm pretty happy here.

Jones-Drew, Maurice JAC RB 9 3.02

Turner, Michael ATL RB 8 5.02

McGahee, Willis DEN RB 6 6.11

Jacobs, Brandon NYG RB (O) 7 12.11

Hunter, Kendall SFO RB ® 7 16.11

- Fairly satisfied. The way my WR's played out, I doubt I get many flex scores from this position, so hopefully I have at least 2 good scores from these guys each week.

Wallace, Mike PIT WR 11 1.11

Austin, Miles DAL WR (P) 5 2.02

Jackson, DeSean PHI WR 7 4.11

Branch, Deion NEP WR 7 10.11

Decker, Eric DEN WR 6 11.02

Burress, Plaxico NYJ WR 8 14.11

Clayton, Mark STL WR (O) 5 19.02

Hill, Jason JAC WR (P) 9 22.11

- If I advance, it's because of this group. Definitely the strength of my team...and given my weakness at TE, I'll need them for sure. I'll have Wallace/Austin at my disposal every week, so as long as the rest can pull their own, I should have no worries here.

Dickson, Ed BAL TE 5 8.11

Miller, Heath PIT TE 11 9.02

Davis, Kellen CHI TE (Q) 8 24.11

- Hate em. I planned very heavily on involving TE's early with 1.5 PPR scoring, and got sniped all over the place. Every single time, I wasn't happy with the dropoff to the next ranked TE, so instead of following the run, I addressed other positions. Kept getting caught in the same cycle. Ended up taking Dickson/Miller back to back as the 18th/19th TE's off the board. Neither have byes, so i really need to have at least one put up a decent score each week. Davis was a final pick lotto pick, maybe he makes my box score once or twice.

Hanson, Jason DET PK 9 18.11

Novak, Nick SDC PK 6 21.02

Suisham, Shaun PIT PK 11 23.02

- Being so behind at TE, I felt I needed every point I can get, so I tried to land 3 good options. Should get nice production from this group.

Browns, Cleveland CLE Def 5 20.11

Saints, New Orleans NOS Def 11 15.02

- Meh...didn't really work out like I hoped. Defense scoring seems so unpredictable after the top tier, I pretty much just grabbed two that don't have byes and hoped for the best. Couldn't pull the trigger on taking any defenses earlier than where I took NO.

Not sure what to think really. If I don't get completely crushed out of the TE position I could have a chance. Good group of drafters...definitely a tough crowd. Good luck everyone.

Cassel, Matt KCC 15.01

Manning, Eli NYG 8.12

Rodgers, Aaron GBP 1.12

Earlier than I'd like to have taken any of these guys. Glad to finally have Rodgers on at least 1 team this year (Packer fan).

Brown, Donald IND 19.01

Green-Ellis, BenJarvus NEP 9.01

McCoy, LeSean PHI 2.01

Moreno, Knowshon DEN 11.01

Starks, James GBP 6.12

Pretty ugly after Shady (who I took at 1.3 in the first leg of this). Hopefully BJGE's toe is okay, he practiced some Friday. Knowshon scored a rec TD in the last game, so maybe he'll be a steal (doubt it though).

Breaston, Steve KCC 12.12

Crabtree, Michael SFO 13.01

Garcon, Pierre IND 4.12

Gibson, Brandon STL 17.01

Holmes, Santonio NYJ 7.01

Marshall, Brandon MIA 5.01

Bowe, Vjax, Fitz and Desean went like right before I got Marshall and Garcon... would've loved one of those 4 instead.

Ballard, Jake NYG 10.12

Finley, Jermichael GBP 3.01

Thomas, Julius DEN TE 24.12

Glad I got a solid TE before the run. Envisioned having a solid TE2 that would be a regular flex contributer. Prob not happening though.

Brown, Josh STL PK 0 5 20.12

Carpenter, Dan MIA PK 0 5 22.12

Folk, Nick NYJ PK 0 8 23.01

3 kickers... 2 will be available every week.

Bengals, Cincinnati CIN Def 0 7 16.12

Cowboys, Dallas DAL Def 0 5 14.12

Dolphins, Miami MIA Def 0 5 21.01

3 defenses.... 2 will be available every week. Prob better D's out there when I took Dallas though.

Coach BroadwayG had a rotten draft in the recent 2011 2011 FBG Survivor - Round 2 - League 4 draft. :sadbanana:

I blame it on having to draft against a doctor and a military man. How is a guy supposed to compete with that?

1.01 Rice, Ray BAL RB 2.12 Sproles, Darren NOS RB 3.12 Best, Jahvid DET RB 4.01 Gonzalez, Tony ATL TE 5.12 Moss, Santana WAS WR 6.01 Boldin, Anquan BAL WR 7.12 Watson, Ben CLE TE 8.01 Rivers, Philip SDC QB 9.12 Moore, Denarius OAK WR 10.01 Heyward-Bey, Darrius OAK WR 11.12 Woodhead, Danny NEP RB 12.01 Cutler, Jay CHI QB 13.12 Lewis, Marcedes JAC TE 14.01 Packers, Green Bay GBP Def 15.12 Bess, Davone MIA WR 16.01 Doucet, Early ARI WR 17.12 Janikowski, Sebastian OAK PK 18.01 Rackers, Neil HOU PK 19.12 Akers, David SFO PK 20.01 Vikings, Minnesota MIN Def 21.12 Seahawks, Seattle SEA Def22.01 Ringer, Javon TEN RB 23.12 Simpson, Jerome CIN WR24.01 Jenkins, Michael MIN WR
Once again I employed the beer method of drafting, but this time on an empty stomach. By round 8 I was adding a sheet to the wind every other round. I missed the memo that this was a start 2 QB league with 8 points per passing TD so I missed out on the QB runs. I consider myself lucky to have 2 starters. I flushed RBs down the toilet after getting Rice/Sproles/Best, so this allowed me to ignore other critical components of the team. At wide receiver, there was surprisingly very little that interested me considering the millions of passing yards thrown in the nfl so far. In spite of that I opted for a bunch of underperforming has-beens with a sprinkle of could have beens. Tight End! This is where I'll make my hay! Unfortunately the hay ended up being from the 2010 season and is full of moldy spiders.

On a positive note, I did get Mr. 50 yard field goal and the Packers defense, who get to play the Vikings twice in the span of round 2.

Well let's see if I hate it as much this morning as I did last night. In fairness I was dozing off the last 6-7 rounds.

Vick, Michael PHI QB

Tebow, Tim DEN QB

McNabb, Donovan MIN QB

Well, there's some big score potential here. And lots of injury potential. McNasty at least has decent matchups wk 6-7 when the others have byes.

Bradshaw, Ahmad NYG RB

Torain, Ryan WAS RB

Graham, Earnest TBB RB

Bush, Michael OAK RB

Dwyer, Jonathan PIT RB

Williams, Carnell STL RB

I actually don't hate this. Not a lot of big hitters, but solid depth.

Johnson, Calvin DET WR

Jennings, Greg GBP WR

Lloyd, Brandon DEN WR

Meachem, Robert NOS WR

Gaffney, Jabar WAS WR

Thomas, Demaryius DEN WR

Young, Titus DET WR

Forgot I started WR-WR. Intended to take Graham in the 1st but Megatron not a bad consolation prize. Top 3 solid, good upside at the bottom. I can live with it.

Gresham, Jermaine CIN TE

Shockey, Jeremy CAR TE

Dreessen, Joel HOU TE

Walker, Delanie SFO TE

Oops. Not getting Graham threw me off. I like Gresham but everyone I wanted to take after him seemed to have the same bye. Tried to cobble something together at the end.

Bailey, Dan DAL PK

Dawson, Phil CLE PK

No bye weeks, decided to go for RB/WR/TE depth.

Ravens, Baltimore BAL Def

Broncos, Denver DEN Def

Went BAL early and punted after that.

Outside chance with Vick and Megatron but I'm not overly enthusiastic about it.

I don't know that there's much to say now that we haven't already stated, so please excuse me for pointing out the obvious

PlayerYTD PtsBye Drafted

Brees, Drew NOS QB 0 111.08

Dalton, Andy CIN QB ® 0 713.05

Palmer, Carson CIN QB - 724.08

This league had a ridiculous amount of QBs taken early. I reread Clayton's email to make sure it was TE 1.5 and I didn't miss something. I got beat waiting too long for Colt McCoy. I wanted McCoy just in case. Since I had Brees already, very few QBs available in round 11? 12? (forget when I was really wanting a backup, about then) are going to outscore him. The idea of drafting another position just seemed better over and over and over. If Brees has a poor week, this will bite me. I'm not too worried though. Last round, I googled Carson and there were some people writing "will he be traded" and ...idk it was last round.

Gerhart, Toby MIN RB 0 921.05

Greene, Shonn NYJ RB 0 86.08

Hardesty, Montario CLE RB 0 510.08

Johnson, Chris TEN RB 0 62.05

Lynch, Marshawn SEA RB 0 68.08

Murray, DeMarco DAL RB ® 0 517.05

Toby's obvious. I see the Ttians trying to get CJ established. They're failing but I love Bruce Matthews, Mike Munchak and their FB+ Ts too much to disregard anything they put their mind to. Hardesty was going in in the red zone last time I saw a Browns game. I sure wouldn't pull Hillis, but ..whatever. I felt like the Browns really wanted a two-headed monster and this was round 10. It was the sixth round, Shonn was there-ya know how 6th round RBs are. Not sure why Lynch was still there in round 8, but I was all over that. I missed Murray and looked for him several rounds earlier, but didn't find him. I felt fortunate to get him in round 17.

Colston, Marques NOS WR 0 115.05

Cruz, Victor NYG WR 0 79.05

Fitzgerald, Larry ARI WR 0 64.08

Massaquoi, Mohamed CLE WR 0 512.08

Ochocinco, Chad NEP WR 0 723.05

Williams, Damian TEN WR 0 611.05

Colston doesn't have a bye and seems like a nice 5th rounder in this league. Not sure what else to say about Fitz. I couldn't get a third top WR, that was the plan and I got beat by a run of em'. I planned to go Cruz then Branch but lost out on Branch. Mass, Cruz, Ocho getting comfy, and Damian are risk/reward WRs that I hope can work out in this best ball format. Cruz's best weeks can even cover Fitz's bad ones so let's see. Damian and Mass seem to get a pretty decent number of looks near the end zone, if not in it. I asked why a drafter took Little before Mass(round or two IIRC) and got some wise acre replies like because Little's an NFL WR and Mass isn't. Mass still seems like he's in his rookie year at times, at others he's pretty impressive. The rest(aside from Little) really bug me as I can't understand why the Browns even roster them. Maybe Mass looks better in comparison. Regardless, it was round 12 and I like him a bunch there.

Gates, Antonio SDC TE (Q) 0 67.05

Pettigrew, Brandon DET TE 0 93.05

I planned Pettigrew/Gates when the scoring was announced. I love Pettigrew moreso than many here. I think he's a top TE by year's end. He has weeks where he gets 7 or 8 catches (which seems on the high side for a TE) and I gave him a little better ranking when I was looking over this league. I don't have a clue when Gates will return. Carlton got me good in the draft. The article I read titled was something like "Gates antsy to return soon" and I posted a link to it. I hadn't read it fully but scanned it. There was some funny sentence in the article something like one could read tea leaves and have a better shot at guessing when Gates will return.

Gostkowski, Stephen NEP PK 0 718.08

Prater, Matt DEN PK 0 620.08

Succop, Ryan KCC PK 0 622.08

Tynes, Lawrence NYG PK 0 719.05

Bad week from a kicker or D is pretty annoying in this league. It irked me last year and I went with an extra D in round 1 this year. I didn't want Succop per se, but I felt better about drafting him than some scrub WR or RB.

Giants, New York NYG Def 0 715.05

Lions, Detroit DET Def 0 914.08

Patriots, New England NEP Def 0 716.08
TEs were gone early-as expected. QBs were all but done real early and I didn't expect that. I think it was Jene that typed something in the chat about having to be happy to get Grossman....Grossman. It felt like that. Surely he wasn't, but that does put it in perspective. I had plenty of chances to draft some real poor TE or real poor QB. I just didn't think they'd top Brees (or be much different than Dalton) and Pettigrew/Gates. I also felt like some of the teams that were TE or QB heavy didn't have enough quality at other positions. Seemed like the RISKY way to go in this draft. We'll see

Forgot to mention, that Tampa DB whose name I always forget....that guy being hurt helped some when I was looking at the schedule.

Off to a decent start thanks largely to Philly D, Cundiff & my man Jimmy. Barber's vultured TD & garbage yards helped with Beanie on bye. Now I need a good night from Bush &/or Hartline on MNF to catch Broadway & Acer.

Need Shonn tomorrow night to NOT be the worst. I was looking at many teams and week 6 and 7 byes seem to affect everyone. I'm getting hit hard (which I did to myself in the draft) and may regret it rather quickly.

So how does this work now. Lets say I finish top 3 but I finish last next week (which I all but know I will do) will I be ousted or is it a combination of both weeks

Man, what a horrible start. Thanks R White, V Davis and Hillis.

But I have a chance to pass 3-4 of you. I need Daniel Thomas to play and Ladainian to have a decent game.

If I can get past this week at 4-7 I will be very happy. Currently at 1-10 with D Thomas and Tomlinson going tonight (-2.9 and -4.1)

Nope, cumulative all play record
In that case, I dont hate my team as much as I did. I have no kicker week 8 but who knows what can happen.

The clarifying in the chat room was all play.
I get that that was a possibility, hence wanting to know the rules. I don't really see the survivor part without it.

Bri - surviving each stage is tough enoughFor all you guys asking - ALL 4 leagues this stage are the same - you play each team each week - your record runs from 11-0 to 0-11 depending on how many teams you beat - next week the same - after Week 10 the highest 3 records in each league advance to the final table

Another logjam in the 2/3/4 spots. I'll probably end up 4th again. On the plus side, I've managed to isolate most of the injured players on my team for the benefit of the rest of you.

Stop The Contest!

Boy that 1 point swing in week 6 would have been nice to have in my favor instead of bending me over. Gonna be struggling mightily for points in week 8, my goal is to get to 5-6.

I think I had a last or 2nd to last showing in the first leg of the contest and made it through. 11-11 after 2 weeks is not goood though (but only 3 games out of 2nd!)

Hey thanks mister first place.Looks like Jene and I overcame a bad week 1(5) in this league. Nice to feel like I have a shot here

This was a decent week!

I didn't post in here earlier, as I HATED my draft....

Then again......

Another week another big Monday night for me. Rivers has to get good at some point, right?

P.S. Parmcat, sorry for laughing at you when you cheered your Rams D pick. You were right.

ALL SKILLand all that was left...lol

looking at some rosters, I remember being annoyed I waited a smidge too long on Bernard Scott so he was scooped up. Parmcat got one week out of him. At the time of this draft, I would have guessed he'd get more.

rocking this week, looks like top score of this mini contest.

I usually stink at these survivor things so I'm quite pleased. Sorry to keep tooting my own horn.

MBSL, Anarchy league and other guys know this is an occasion for me

Nice week Bri!

Another big monday night. Bonesman and parmcat have some catching up to do, but both with plenty left in the tank. 5 spots in the middle are separated by 5 points, so movement could become fast and furious. Noone is a lock.

MAN....

I need about +40 from Peterson, Crosby, and some GB WRs

Bad week for Glass Gore to go down

Could be a heck of a night!

I pick the OVER!!!!!!

Man... it would be nice to have one more draft this season. I really hope Rodgers/Finely/Starks tear it up and put me through to round 3.

You know you choked at RB when Donald Brown is your steadiest RB2... starks can change that though... is 7 receptions, 120 yds and 2 TDs from him and Finely too much to ask?
