2012 Offseason Dynasty Trades (2 Viewers)

Just sent Gabbert away for James Starks in return.

I have an owner who now wants Starks in exchange for McGahee. I own Hillman and he owns Alex Brown. But I am thinking this is me giving up a bit much. McGahee has to be near the end. Whereas Starks is only 26. Thoughts?

I'm thinking you hang on to Starks and send some thank you chocolates to the new Gabbert owner.

Bit of a blockbuster here. Our starting lineups have 12 offensive starters so keep that in mind.

Team A Receives:

Megatron

3.06

4.06

Team B Receives

Hakeem Nicks

Jeremy Maclin

2.05

Team A:

He has enough depth on his bench to nicely cover the loss of two high quality starters.

Team B:

Has guys like Kendricks and Jabar Gaffney in his starting lineup and a much weaker bench. He told me upgrading his depth was important. Also he's not really a contender this year so I don't think Nick's injury played in his decision.

I agree if the only option is McGahee. I'd dry to dump Starks for someone else while his value is decent.

Just did this in a 16 team half PPR

First should be late (guaranteed playoff team)

Second is about the same

Corstorphine Steelers gave up:

Murray, DeMarco DAL RB

Year 2013 Round 1 Draft Pick from Craigentinny Chargers

Kaunas Buckeyes gave up:

Forte, Matt CHI RB

Year 2013 Round 2 Draft Pick from Corstorphine Steelers

He also has Donald Brown (I own Delone Carter). I am thinking either asking for Brown for Starks or sending him Carter for McGahee.

Starks for Brown seems fair for both sides. I'd def prefer Brown over Starks this year, even more so if I had Delone Carter as insurance.Unless Indy drafts a RB in the 1st round the next couple of years, you shouldn't have a problem trying to acquire any relevant rookies in the future to monopolize their run game.

I would send Starks for Brown, regardless of my team situation, 100 times out of 100. Always. Immediately. If you can do that, I'd be all over it. That said - I'm trying to get both Brown and Starks in a lot of places - I think they're both undervalued. There's a few trades of each scattered over the last few pages to gage value, iirc.

I offered him Starks for Brown and also Delone Carter for McGahee. See if he snags one.

12 team PPR league:

I traded Jennings for Harvin.

I also traded Newton for Bryant. This is the best I could do in this league, I've been trying to trade Rodgers or Newton since last season. I needed another WR, start 3 WR league.

Team A receives

Cobb

2013 3rd (should be late)

2013 4th (should be late)

Team B receives

Mike Williams TB

2013 2nd (should be mid)

I think these 2 rbs are closer to even when factoring in Forte's holdout/injury risk - so I would take Murray and the pick upgrade. Wouldn't want either as RB1s but they are ideal high ceiling RB2s.

Id take Demarco and the first, unless I was a uber contender. In a rebuild I was offered Forte for 1.02, turned it down

I wouldn't trade 1.5 or better for Julio.
Please explain. Are you projecting that Julio is going to announce his retirement before the 2012 season?
Yeah that doesn't make much sense. Obviously depends on specific scoring rules and roster requirements, but from what I've seen in some recent startups:Richardson= Late 1st Julio= Early 2ndMartin= Mid 3rdRG3= Late 2nd in QB Flex, 5th in 1 QBLuck= Late 2nd in QB Flex, 5th in 1 QBWilson= 5th or 6th Floyd= 5th or 6thSo to prefer 1.5 is basically saying one of the guys (Wilson/Floyd) going in the 5th or 6th round of a startup is worth more than a guy going in the top 15 overall in most startups.Even if you are a bit lower on Julio than most and feel he'll remain the 2nd option behind White, you can say the same about Floyd and Fitz. And Julio has Matt Ryan vs. Kolb/Skelton. Not to mention I think the talent comparison between Julio and Roddy is much more favorable for Julio than Floyd vs. Fitz, where I think most would agree Fitz is the more elite talent and much closer to his prime than Roddy.
I think Julio is greatly overrated :shrug:1.5 was probably an exaggeration, but I'd easily rather have Rich, Luck, RG3, and Martin over him. I would consider Wilson depending on need. I don't see Julio that much better than Blackmon. That's my opinion on it. I've been wrong before. No one has ever been right on every single player in the league. Time will tell.

Been a contender for a couple of yrs but I'm moving the older pieces around

Brady for RGIII and a couple of 3rds

J Cook for J Bladwin

Boldin for Holmes

Gates got DHB

QB / 1 RB / 3 WR / 1 TE / 2 FLEX / PK / 2 DL / 3 LB / 2 DB / & 2 Flex IDP

(Teams are only allowed to Start a Max of 4 WRs and 4 LBs a week)

Scoring (6 Pt TD / .5 PPR RB, 1 WR, TE / 2 Solo, 1 Assist, 4 special plays)

QB P Manning, RGIII ®

RB Bradshaw, Sporles, Tate, Goodson, T jones

WR Harvin, Collie, T Smith, J Baldwin, DHB, S Holmes, Amendola, L Jones, James Jones, J Simpson, G Tate

TE F Davis, Housler, Z Miller, E Moore

PK Akers

DL Dumervil, Edwards, M Johnson

LB Angerer, Bishop, Weatherspoon, D Washington, Wagner ®, Z Brown ®, DDavis ®, Mouton

DB Branch, Godfrey, Griffin

Think I'm done moving players for now, depending on how the season goes I'll move Bradshaw / Sporles / Peyton, but I'm still a playoff team right now (8 out of 14 make it)

Thanks for your opinion. I understand that is all we are ALL are throwing out there (opinions that is). When watching the rookie Julio Jones last year I am not sure how someone does not come away impressed. My opinion is that he is miles above Blackmon (and most current NFL receivers) physically and professional and also works under a top notch organization with a franchise quarterback. I see a future top 5 receiver withstanding injury. It is my opinion and has been that Blackmon is slightly overrated due to the receiver class of this year not being very top heavy. I think he can develop into a nice player but I don't see him as one with elite skills like Julio. Throw in his poor decision-making and you will not find him on any of my squads unless I am absolutely able to steal him.

This in spades, my only real concerns with Julio are injury and even then they're minor.

Anyone who thinks Blackmon is on the same level as Julio jones doesn't know football. Yes, it's their opinion but it's just flat out wrong. Trying to convince someone to make a trade probably.

10 team non PPR

Tennessee gave up:

Newton, Cam CAR QB

Year 2012 Draft Pick 3.07

Year 2013 Round 4 Draft Pick from Tennessee

Year 2013 Round 4 Draft Pick from Oklahoma

Year 2013 Round 4 Draft Pick from Los Angeles

Oklahoma gave up:

Hightower, Tim WAS RB

Year 2012 Draft Pick 1.02

Year 2012 Draft Pick 2.05

Year 2013 Round 2 Draft Pick from Oklahoma

Year 2013 Round 2 Draft Pick from Harlem

Year 2014 Round 3 Draft Pick from Oklahoma

Oklahoma basically turned Crabtree/Gore/Hightower into Newton thru a series of trades.

First traded Gore for 2 2nds and a 3rd

Then Traded Crabtree for a future 1st

Then traded that 1st for 1.06/2.03

Then traded the 1.06/2.03 for 1.02

Then the trade above

Nice work by the guy turning Crabs/Gore/Hightower into Newton. I will say I like the value the team giving Newton got, though. In a 10 team league it's generally easier to find a decent starting QB, so I think it's not a bad deal there provided he has someone good enough to replace Newton and not lose a ton (Rivers, Eli, Romo type).

rogers or not. he under sold Cam. gore is done

Stacked at WR, 12 team ppr league.

Sent A. Johnson, pick 15, Finely, Winslow, Benn

For Gronk and 1.4 and Ed Dickson

Other owner sent 1.10 for Vjax

Overhauled my roster with a pair of trades - see where these fall when evaluated dyno value.

McFadden and DJax

for

Charles and Dez

then about two weeks later...

Dez

for

Jordy and Torrey Smith

so overall:

McFadden and Djax

for

Charles, Nelson, Torrey Smith

IMO I got Nelson for more or less free as I value DMac and Charles close, and DJax and Smith close.

I'm curious if he turns around and goes QB at 1.2 now.If you're holding Rodgers and Cam, it's a must-trade now situation and sometimes their just isn't anyone that is wanting to give up full value for a guy. I think the guy did fine dealing Cam.

12 team, 1 PPR, 1QB, 1-3RB, 2-4WR, 1-3TETeam A gave Percy Harvin, Jordan CameronTeam B gave Wes Welker, Santonio Holmes
I think Welker plays this season out under the franchise tag, but then leaves, destroying his fantasy value. So I got Harvin side here
Yeah, I agree that if Welker is one more and out (with the Pats) that the Harvin side wins but if I'm not mistaken Welker can play under the franchise tag for the next 2 years, and if he does end up with a 3 or 4 yr contract then it could end up being a winner for Team B over the next 3-4 yrs. I think Holmes can only go up. Personally, I think the Pats need to retain Welker.

You're underestimating Welker's talent here IMO. He's a really good football player; his route-running and short area quickness are absolutely elite. Obviously his numbers would likely go down if he left NE, but he'd still be fantasy relevant (90-1000-5 range maybe) with another team, particularly in PPR.

I know he is, but right now he's been a PPR monster. I know he finished no.1 last year in my league. He wasn't superb before Brady. I think he's going to fall a bit this year anyway. If he leaves, who knows where he could end up? In DET he'd be amazing, but in CLE he'd fall off a cliff.
