2013 All-Pro Team (1 Viewer)

I'd love for someone to explain to me how Lacy was more deserving of 2nd team than Forte.

Besides, with the seasons McCoy and Charles had, how did any other RBs get any votes at all??
You answered your own question. I'm sure 48 voters had Charles/McCoy on their ballots, and one random guy put Peterson and another random guy put Lacy. I bet if you'd asked the other 48 voters whether Forte was better than Lacy, they'd pretty much unanimously agree, but when a few players dominate votes like Charles/McCoy undoubtedly did, all it takes is one or two crazies to get someone elected a second-string All Pro. Happened in 2007, too, when Brett Favre was the runner-up for MVP because 49 voters did the sensible thing and voted for Brady, which meant that last guy got to unilaterally decide who finished second.

Edit: notice how there's no second-team All Pro QB, because all 50 voted for Manning? If one rogue voter had wanted, he could have split has ballot between Peyton Manning and Geno Smith, and Geno Smith would have been the second-team AP All Pro this year. It's beyond stupid. If you're going to have a second team, you need to be able to vote players to the second team, rather than just taking whoever didn't have enough votes for the first-team. Go with a Heisman-style system where you rank players and they get points.

I am aware. It is just dumb that it is done that way.

I'd love to know whom most voters would have voted as the 2nd best QB, if it were done that way. Probably Brees.

G Evan Mathis and OLB Lavonte David both made the All Pro team while being left off the Pro Bowl roster.

Man, where did all the great outside linebackers go?
Lavonte David is a pretty legitimately great outside linebacker. He and Von Miller will combine for a spectacular pair of 1st team AP All Pro OLBs next year.

Edit: I also think the rise of the spread (and the resulting increase in nickel defenses) has had a negative impact on linebackers. Fewer LBs in the league, fewer snaps to spread around among them, and a lot more of the LBs that are left are either one-dimensional pass rushers or basically just slow/oversized safeties. LB has been declining in importance right along with RB.
