Not often this position is open in the 17th round of the NCFF draft.

17.08 Max Wittek QB USC

Isn't there going to be a QB competition? I assume that's what has kept him on the board so long.

There will be but Wittek is likely to win it.The main reason he was still on the board, IMO, is that people saw his performances against Notre Dame and Georgia Tech- he was really bad. But I think it's a good pick, and he was the next QB on my list.

That ND game was one of the worst coached games I have ever seen. Wittek did just fine and kiffen pooped his pants on the play calling. They finally opened it up in the fourth quarter and they moved the ball with little problem until they got to the 2 yard line and Kiffen threw up all over himself.

The GT game didn't count against Wittek either. He whole Sr class quit after the ND game and none of them wanted to play in hat bowl.

Everything you wrote was true. But- if you watched him in those two games, you know he was pretty bad as well. He looked good on the long bombs, but 10-20 yard throws, he was missing WRs by a few feet each time.

I do think his accuracy will be better in the fall, however.
