From ESPN:

NFL Adjusted Strength of ScheduleA look at adjusted strength of schedule for the NFL in 2012. If a team goes 16-0, it had a big impact on the winning percentage of the teams it played. Here we take out a team's record and look at how opponents were in the rest of their games.

A quick look at the playoff teams' SOS:(Overall/In division)NFCVikings (4th/2nd)Packers (7th/4th)49ers (9th/3rd)Seahawks (12th/4th)Redskins (19th/3rd)Falcons (32nd/4th)AFCTexans (13th/2nd)Patriots (15th/1st)Ravens (16th/1st)Bengals (31st/4th)Broncos (25th/2nd)Colts (30th/4th)Interesting (but not surprising) that only the Pats and Ravens faced the hardest schedule in their division. More interesting that the Jags were the only AFC team in the top 12Interesting that only the Pats and Ravens had the toughest schedule in their division. Also interesting that the teams

How does that compare to what people thought it would be at the beginning of the season? I have long believed that preseason SOS is a bucket full of spit.

What is the difference between "win pct" and "adjusted win pct?"
Win pct is if you just add up the wins and losses of your opponents.Adjusted win pct is if you add up the wins and losses of your opponents not counting the games they played you.

Do you suppose that could be attributed to playing each team in your division twice? Ex. The division winner (11-5) plays the division loser (4-12) X 2, but doesn't play themselves.
