I don't really see why someone who believed in Gio enough to draft him probably in the top-3 would feel the need to handcuff him with BGJE. Either you're right or you're wrong about Gio. There's no need to throw away more good money on a hedge that's not even good enough on his own to have much worth.

My thoughts as well. After drafting Gio I did throw out an offer of a mid 3rd for BGJE just to see what the owner was thinking but it was quickly rejected. If you're a believer in Gio then BGJE really isn't worth much as a hedge.

The thing with Garcon is that he isn't really helping you age wise as his value will soon decline as well, if you are not competitive this year maybe you could try and flip Garcon for Michael Floyd for example.

Well AJ is 33 in a few days and Garçon is soon to be 27 so I do think the 6 years difference is significant. But I should have gotten a future draft pick bump or something.

It's really not that bad a deal. I have done a couple startups this summer and AJ has gone in the 6th-7th round range. Garçon is also generally going in the 7th round. It is just tough to get a good return on a 32 year old WR. Especially since Houston is a run first offense and now has a 1st round WR opposite him so he isn't likely to get the huge target totals he has in the past. He is going to put up good numbers for the next 2 years, but if you are building for the future, that doesn't help you.

Not saying you won the deal but I think a lot of people look at Johnson and think his best days are behind him and that he isn't likely to get any less injury prone as he inches toward his mid 30s. The days of getting a great trade haul for him are pretty much over.

Could be a win-win trade helping both teams. I would prefer the Amendola side, but I am pretty low on MJD.

I don't believe Davis will come back as good as he was, so I would prefer the 2nd rounder. TE scoring makes in a reasonable gamble, though.

Well, that is where the contracts come in. Foster has a 1 year contract, Charles has a 3 year contract.

I'm looking at it as Foster with 1 year plus Lynch with 2 years = Charles with 3 years. That would leave Harvin with 4 years plus Blackmon with 3 years for Julio with 3 years.

I'd need more info (if you don't mind) to consider the contract aspect: Is the cap only years (no $)? What happens at the end of a contract? Franchise tag? RFA? UFA? Thanks.
