So you don't like Fitzgerald or Nelson or D. Allen? Not being smart, but kinda shocked you would consider that "terrible" for me. I agree I gave up the most valuable player in Gronk, but those 2 WRs are both very good #2 if not #1 FF WR and D. Allen is a very solid young TE as well.

It's hardly terrible. Gronk is a late 1st start up pick and both Nelson and Fitz are early 3rd's. As incredible as Gronk is he could cost you a title just as likely as he can win one for you.

Don't like this for the team giving up Williams. I'm not his biggest fan but Wayne likely won't outscore Williams by much this year and doesn't have many years left. Williams at least has a shot to produce low WR2 numbers for many more years.

Would prefer the Trent side, I am unsure of by how much however. There is no indication at this point that Pierce would be a 3 down back if Rice went away; pass pro was the knock coming out of school. I would probably add a 2nd to Rice + Pierce to nab Richardson - maybe a late 1st.

I don't have any data to back it up but the hit rate on the first RB drafted, regardless of pick number, is pretty high. It's very unusual for a RB not to get drafted until the 2nd round but we do have examples of the first RB being picked late (Martin at #31, SJax at #24, McGahee at #23) and being successful.

The devaluation of the RB position by NFL teams make it tough to compare RB's by where they were drafted. Unless a RB is unique physical specimen like Trent, Spiller, or Peterson like just aren't going to go high in the draft anymore.

If this were true why is Mike Williams WR42 in ADP? MW has been a WR2 2 of the past 3 years, but I think most feel his chance at providing that reliably is pretty low. Wayne is guaranteed top 15 this year barring injury, and probably the next too.

His main hope in a boost in value is the Pierre Garcon route. It could happen but I wouldn't count on it.

I think it's an easy trade for the guy getting Wayne - why not improve my roster for a couple years for a guy whose pretty replaceable.

I traded DX for Broyles

I'm not high on DX at all, and wanted to get something of value before his knees go out again (granted, Broyles is not the picture of health either) and SD goes to a shorter, quicker passing game which negates DX's strengths. I may have overpaid a bit for Broyles, but really think he's going to bust out this year in that offense.

I like both players as sleepers but it really depends on which offense you think will be better for the future so I think I would take Broyles

I would say the value of this one is fairly close, but clearly since we took foster here we like the foster side.

In my rookie/FA drafts Cameron is going consistently in the third round, given that then this is two thirds and a fifth for witten, you can add the three picks up and call it a second if you like but this is pretty bad either way you slice it! Definitely with you on this Ghost!

I wouldn't call it terrible - but I like Jordy Nelson more than most and think Fitz' value bounces way back up this year. I'd probably stick with Gronk, but back surgery is a tricky thing and it's something that may always be an issue.

Where is Floyd going in startups? I haven't looked in a while.

I viewed Fitz as a 3rd, Ball as a 5th, and Floyd somewhere after that(6?). I still like Turbin, but in this context, he wasn't considered (throw in).

FWIW, the deal was sent by me and an auto-accept for the other guy; so that does support your statement. I should have started lower, but hindsight is what it is. I still like the team better now than I did a few hours ago.

It isn't bad, but thats one of those deals where a year from now both guys could each be worth more tham Fitz. Or they both suck.

Very true. Pros and cons to each side of the deal. I was greatly invested in potential and 2014+, so I wanted to turn some of that into 2013 production and stability. Feel a lot better about my 13' chances (and balance) starting Fitz at WR2, rather than relying on Shorts/Tavon for WR2/3 production. I could certainly come to regret it, but I feel really good about it right now, and can afford to move potential, having a really young team in place, even still.

this is a "roster dependent" deal.

If you cant compete this year it would be the worst deal ever.

If you are making a run, and especially if you have other good youth and maybe future picks, its a very good move.

You generally have to either overpay or give up future production to win at some point. This isnt overpaying, but clearly in a couple years it will affect you. Again, not if both floyd and ball suck of course.
