Its a big party ove there in the eagles thread. Pattin eachother on the back. Talkin about their great drafts. chip kelly is superman. In their minds, they've already beaten the Cowboys Sunday. Nothing is more annoying than eagles fans all riled up. I'd love for the Cowboys to shut em up!

Do we even need to play this game?

The outcome is inevitable. Cowboys lose a tight game where the defense surrenders huge yardage total followed by a Romo pick in the final few minutes.

Eagles 38-28.

We've been here many, many times before. If you haven't figured it out yet, you simply are not paying attention, or if you are a Cowboy fan- you simply refuse to take the rise colored glasses off.

It feels lousy to write this because I'm a 30 year fan, but it is what it is.

I have been naive for a long time when it comes to fans. I really have only gone to Detroit home games and a few Detroit road games where opposing fans don't really hate Lions fans because they're not a threat.

Anyway, it is shocking to me how awful Eagles fans really are. It's almost as if they like the reputation and they play up to it, an excuse to behave the way they do.

I will always root for them to lose. Dallas may not be good enough to beat Philly, but Philly has their own problems, they aren't good enough to win the SB and really that's all that matters. The NFC East is the worst it's been....ever. For Philly to need to win on the last week speaks to itself, they aren't very good in the grand scheme of things despite the performance last night.

If the Cowboys bring their "A" game it will be a shootout at best, if the don't they'll get blown out.

I lived in Philadelphia for the first 27 years of my life. Therefore, I am an Eagles fan. Therefore, I also root passionately against the Dallas Cowboys. However, I have now lived 22 years outside of Philadelphia and I have learned a few things:

1) Philadelphia fans are some of the most passionate fans in the country, and will support their teams, positively and negatively, whether they are good or bad. They are not fair weather fans.

2) Philadelphia has some of the most obnoxious, idiot fans in the country. And generally the ones that act the worst are usually the ones who talk the loudest. It is not always easy rooting for a team with those fans

3) It never pays to talk trash to other teams fans because at some point they will usually have an opportunity to talk trash back to you

4) It never pays to talk trash to other teams fans as a Philadelphia fan, because at some point they will ALWAYS have an opportunity to talk trash back to you, because the Philadelphia team will always find a way to mess things up.

I am not here to apologize for other Philadelphia fans. I am not responsible for them and they would not want me to. However, I will say that this week, as I try to do most weeks, I will try to be a respectful fan, and talk respectfully to Cowboy fans. Most of you guys seem like good fans, and if it weren't for the fact that you root for the Cowboys, I would probably root for your team to win. Good luck this week, and I hope it is a great game on Sunday no matter who wins.

I am very excited about the way the Eagles played last night, but I still remember last Sunday's game against the Vikings, so anything can happen. I also still remember the end of the 2009 season when the Cowboys probably had their two biggest wins at the death star winning back-to-back games against the Eagles to win the division and then win the wildcard game. I think Foles performs as he has much of the season, and leads the Eagles to a 31-27 win. I attribute that pick as much to the Cowboys ability under Garrett and Romo to find a way to lose a big game as I do to the ability of the Eagles to win a big game.

With our defense being like it is, I doubt many of us fans are exactly confident, but we'll show up and play the game anyway. We hate the dirty Eagles as much as you guys hate the Cowboys. These games are what we live for, and what being a fan is all about. For all the ups and downs and heartbreakers and embarrassments and comebacks and media hype, blah, blah, blah, our teams have a chance to win the division on Week 17. Of course, I'd rather be 15-0 right now, but realistically, this is all we can ask for.

I hate eagles so much. But, this is a much better team than the one we faced earlier this season. Chip Kelly is smarter and a better game manager than Ginger, the team makes fewer mental and execution errors than we do, and they are more talented on both sides of the ball.

Bottom line, we have to play the perfect game to win.

Orton is one of the highest paid b/u's in the league, and for good reason, imo. He's proven himself before, and would likely start on a handful of teams. And its not like the eagles D are world beaters. If we get Demarco goin, I think Orton makes some plays with our weapons. Gotta sustain drives and keep that eagle O off the field. Otherwise, we're doomed.

With the Romo news, what no one is talking about, is Lee is done for the year. I think we need him more Sunday, than Romo right now.

Im not optimistic that we win this one, but I'm not losing hope.

The fact that they even have a shot at the playoffs speaks volumes to how good a job Chip Kelly and FO did this offseason. The Eagles have a ton of cap space available (as usual) and with another offseason of competent drafting and FA signings, the sky is the limit for this team. Superbowl this year, doubtful. But their window has just opened up...again.

Maybe the eagles are building something. But they gotta win Sunday first, which it seems like many think is a forgone conclusion. i think eagles nation is getting a little ahead of itself.

You think Garrett is the next up and coming great head coach for no ostensible reason. You think he drafts players, you think he manages the salary cap, Christ...it's as though you think he invented Christmas. Anyway, he should be gone. Anyone who isn't drinking Kool Aid while wearing rose colored glasses understands that a top 5 offense is not how a team is judged. The team was ranked 15th the previous two seasons, by the way. But, since seasons and head coaches are judged by records and playoffs, three consecutive 8-8 seasons with critical losses because the head coach has no idea how to manage a football game...that should be your first clue he has no business as a head coach. Quarterback coach maybe. Offensive coordinator...perhaps. But, he does not deserve to be a head coach in this league until he demonstrates an understanding of how to run a football operation. Garrett is out of his league, and you're on an island with this guy. Even Jerry likely knows he made a mistake.

Finally, if anyone's expectations were off, it was yours. You thought this team was awesome, led by a head coach that was better. I was the one, along with others, trying to warn you not to get too excited. That this was a flawed undisciplined team that, despite playing in a crap division likely wasn't going anywhere. And they aren't. They weren't with romo, and they won't with orton. Unrealistic expectations? Look in the mirror, my friend. You've been inflating this team all season long and continue to think it's going somewhere next year when talent deficits, coaching deficits, and a bloated cap that renders this team utterly incapable of making a single improvement...and in fact will lose players...are going to make this 8 win team turn into a 6 win team then a 5 win team before eventually imploding. Well lets see its week 17 and Dallas has a chance to win the NFC East pretty sure I would have signed up for this at the beginning of the season. I predicted at best 10-6 so its actually pretty close especially with all the heart wrenching losses this year. I knew Kiffin would be bad but not historically bad and that first week causing 6 turnovers really bought him some leeway for a good part of the season. So a head coach improves from the 15th to the 3rd overall offense and your not happy? Do you not see progress? If anything this season just proved how AWESOME ROMO is. Guy has thrown for 31 tds and only 10 ints for comparison purposes Tom Brady has only 24 tds and 10 ints. You only remember the 10 ints and not the 31 tds so that's unfortunate. Bottom line this team would be lucky to win 2-4 games without Romo all year. You finally gave Romo an offensive line and seen what he can do. Next year give him a defense and the skys the limit.

I don't think the score will be that much different than it would habe been with Romo. I think Dallas will try and run the ball more.....that is a good thing. I think Kyle Orton has fresh legs and an arm, a week to practice (minusChristmas) with the starters....he'll do fine.

It'll be can the defense hold up, can they create turnovers and get off the field on 3rd downs. None of that has anything to do with Romo. I like Romo, I would rather have hin in there healthy but I have always liked Orton, he's capable of making some throws. Come on, he's as good as Christian Ponder or close to it. The defense lets up 40 points I don't care who's playing QB, we lose.

You really contradict yourself at every turn. First off how can you possibly blame Garrett for handing out contracts when we all know that's Jerry Jones department. Then in a previous argument you made reference that Garrett should be to blame for defensive woes since he is the head coach but at the same token its all Callahan on the offensive improvements. Seems to me that no matter what happens if its bad its Garrett's fault but if it is positive then Garrett had nothing to do with it. I would argue that Romo is no longer a gunslinger but more of a calculated risk taker.

With the defense as bad as it is, he (a) needs to seize control of the coaches and that group and make sure it gets better--that's his job and (b) he should have instructed Callahan long ago to forego some of the pass-happy tendencies and focus on the running game (31st in attempts) to take pressure off the porous defense.

Garrett has been derelict in every duty as a head coach. Players making terrible penalties, not lining up to play every snap (see DET loss), time management, situational play management, not holding the defense accountable, etc.

Then in a previous argument you made reference that Garrett should be to blame for defensive woes since he is the head coach but at the same token its all Callahan on the offensive improvements. Seems to me that no matter what happens if its bad its Garrett's fault but if it is positive then Garrett had nothing to do with it. I don't think the score will be that much different than it would habe been with Romo. I think Dallas will try and run the ball more.....that is a good thing. I think Kyle Orton has fresh legs and an arm, a week to practice (minusChristmas) with the starters....he'll do fine.

It'll be can the defense hold up, can they create turnovers and get off the field on 3rd downs. None of that has anything to do with Romo. I like Romo, I would rather have hin in there healthy but I have always liked Orton, he's capable of making some throws. Come on, he's as good as Christian Ponder or close to it. The defense lets up 40 points I don't care who's playing QB, we lose.

This is pretty much how I see it as well. Although, Orton is not very fleet of foot. Romo has been able to create while avoiding the sack. At times the blitz overwhelms our blockers. This is hopefully where paying for Orton's experience comes in. He'll need to get rid of the ball quickly at times. He's gonna need to play a very smart game for us to have a shot.

The D obviously has its work cut out for it. Gotta get more pressure on the QB. This has been killing us! Time for Ware to step up. If Foles is comfortable in the pocket, he'll pick us apart. Then we gotta contain Shady...........ugh. Sure would be nice to have Lee on the field, dang it.
