2014 NFL Playoffs: A disaster befitting this dumpster fire of a season (1 Viewer)

I can't think of a more lifeless NFL playoff on paper in my life...largely due to minimal intrigue....

Next week...

We know Detroit and Cincy will lay eggs, as they always do...

Arizona is going to lose to a 7 win playoff team with a backup quarterback

Baltimore and Pittsburgh will play a 13-12 game

then we go to the week following....

Dallas at Green Bay... intriguing game

Carolina at Seattle... over before it starts

AFC a little less clear...but no more real intrigue...

because with a clear path to the bowl, Seattle, a machine of a efficiency but a largely boring team to watch play, barring injuries, will probably overmatch whatever team comes out of the AFC.

Unless Romo went on a run....or Luck put the Colts on his back, it looks terrible on paper.

Yes, I'll be there each week.

After the Rice and Peterson stuff.... these playoffs seem fitting for a very forgettable year.

whoa, easy there! it's a great story unfolding here..

1. Az will not lose to the hapless Panthers, as coaches go, Arians is >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Rivera..

2. Ravens will beat Pitt

3. Colts flat-out suck - watch J. Hill, he'll have 100 rushing yards by halftime..

4. Cowboys will blow out the Lions who dont belong there anyways..the Lions as a playoff team??! come on now...this is comical..

then you get to watch Brady have another postseason collapse, and Manning going back to another Championship Game

you also get to watch Arians' brilliance as a head coach as they destroy the Panthers, and then go to Sea and play a close game vs the Seahawks.

the Packers/Cowboys game in Div round, is a dream matchup

then you have Pack or Dallas @ Seattle..can't go wrong with either game, Dallas @ Sea, or GB @ Sea..

on a side note, does Az win @ Pathers, @ sea, @ GB to reach the SB? they're a very tough 'out'.

does Dallas win v Lions, @ Pack, @ Sea?

there is a very good chance that we're going to have a repeat SB, Seattle v. Broncos..

It's tough luck for AZ, seriously, losing Palmer was bad enough, they could have had HF advantage if he had stayed healthy, now they will likely get knocked out by the Cats.

The NFC looks strong and weak at the same time, I like the Packers.

The AFC is a mish-mash but when the Pats have HFA they have an excellent shot of going all the way.

The first week is awful and obvious with the exception of the Pitt/Bal game which are usually boring to watch anyway. The only point of interest there is if LeVeon comes back and/or if Flacco can start a tear in the playoffs like he did a few years ago.

Second weekend then becomes Sea/Car. I actually think this could be the most interesting game of the playoffs. Passing isn't what Seattle does but that Car front 7 is going to force them to do that. I think if Cam can play like his first 2 years which it looked like he's finally healthy again yesterday, it might cause some problems for Seattle. And remember, 25 is that magic number for the seahawks. Wilson is a career 0-6 when teams put up more than 24 on him. They'll be facing some good offenses these playoffs.

Dallas/Green Bay: Toss up. Good matchup of great offenses.

I'll say Denver/Pitt: Denver wins comfortably.

New England/Indy: Indy gets crushed.

Conference Round

I think Seattle/Green Bay: I've had GB out of the NFC since the preseason. I think Rodgers passes that 24 point threshold I previously mentioned.

Rematch from last year NE/Den. I think Denver gets it done again. The defense is a bit more complete this year. We all get treated to one more Brady slouch pose.

Super Bowl: Green Bay vs Denver. Unfortunately as a Peyton fan, I think he loses again...with more than 8 points this time though. This will be a barn burner. Think like 36-28, Peyton throws his typical INT on the final drive. I've had GB winning it since August. Rodgers is the complete quarterback, gets #2.

well, within the confines of my theory... a carolina upset in seattle would breathe great life into things...would love to see it.

I'm not a cowboy fan, but I think that would really electrify the country would be a Romo run... cowboy fans, cowboy haters alike.

I'm a giants fan, so I have had a lifetime of laughs at Romo's expense as much as he's spanked the Giants on occasion. But I"ll say this for him, he's tough, he's accountable and he deserves better than he's gotten.

I don't know if I would WANT him to win a super bowl... but I would love to see him there.
