Where's Mike Davis when you need him?
The score was 48-23 with three minutes left in the game.On a second-down play, Lamarr Houston sacked Patriots backup quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo. Houston then leaped in the air in celebration, and as he landed, he grabbed at his right knee and went to the ground. He got up, walked a few strides, then sat down again.
Losers find a way to lose. This season is really testing my loyalty. Its beyond embarrassing. The misery never ends. Every week, a new comedy routine.

He did what he does best. That Schaub play gave this Texans fan a chuckle.
You need to look at the bright side. At least it wasn't returned for a TD.He did what he does best. That Schaub play gave this Texans fan a chuckle.
Just don't let McFadden hand in the #1 pick on draft night, he might fumble on the way up to the podium and not get the pick in on time. Please change the thread title to invite speculation as to how we should blow the #1 overall pick.

"Brice Butler jumps off the tape. I know he doesn't get a ton of touches, but when he does, he's a major threat," Cleveland coach Mike Pettine said Wednesday.
Sure, how about Reggie McKenzie for Lynch?Hey man, will you give us something for Lynch?
Never!STC has me on ignore.
23 TFLs, with none of those being sacks, would be silly.@RaiderTruths: Khalil Mack has 10 TFLs so far in 7 games. How good is that? Sheldon Richardson (DROY) had 12 TFLs in total last season.
RaiderTruths: Khalil Mack is on pace for 98 tackles and 23 TFLs. Insane.
I'm sure by the time the season ends Mack will get his fair share of sacks. He has a boat load of QB pressures. Soon those QB pressures will be turning into QB sacks.jonboltz said:23 TFLs, with none of those being sacks, would be silly.krsone21 said:@RaiderTruths: Khalil Mack has 10 TFLs so far in 7 games. I can see it from a valuation standpoint in terms of what pick value is worth, but even then it's not exactly giving up the farm. And when you look at actual performance, it's a wash -- both Hayden and Jordan had disappointed rookie seasons and missed substantial time this year (suspension; injury).Ed Wood said:If Reggie stays and the Raiders "win" the first pick in the draft, can they trust him to do the right thing with the pick (i.e. trade it for a boatload)?
There was some argument about whether he got enough moving down from 3 to 12 to select D.J. Hayden in the 2013 draft. The Raiders also got the 42nd pick with the move.
Here's an argument that Reggie got robbed:

Jimmy Johnson's trade value chart is dated and just a general guideline. It doesn't account for year to year talent pool variability and depth. Wait, what? This team is headed for 0-16. I find it very hard to believe anyone in the building, outside of Davis (unfortunately), is retained.Raiderfan32904 said:If Reggie "earns" the #1 overall pick, I guarantee you he won't be doing the picking.

Daniel Jeremiah @MoveTheSticksKhalil Mack vs TEs is rarely going to end well for the offense.
Just shows how clueless Reggie is.Jimmy Johnson's trade value chart is dated and just a general guideline. It doesn't account for year to year talent pool variability and depth. I'm not saying Reggie made a good call with Hayden. So far it looks like anything but. But if he hypothetically was the 3rd best player in that draft and Reggie had his mind made up to take him at 3, then trading down for anything at all (and still getting him later) was a win, trade value charts notwithstanding.
Best first rounder since C Wood. At least Reggie didn't screw that up.Daniel Jeremiah @MoveTheSticks

According to the trade chart, no. We didn't.Ed Wood said:If Reggie stays and the Raiders "win" the first pick in the draft, can they trust him to do the right thing with the pick (i.e. trade it for a boatload)?

Who knows what the coaching staff wants to do with the RB's? They say they want to get Mcfadden going, then they say they need to get MJD involved. Then they abandon the run for some odd reason. For this season, unless McFadden gets injured, I don't see Murray being very active in the Raiders run game. Reece is getting more work than him lately. He's had 4 carries all season and nothing since week 3.Any possibility of Latavius Murray getting a chance at starting? McFadden is on a 1yr, show-me deal I believe and they obviously have given up on MJD.
It only matters in the sense that people weren't dying to move up in a terrible draft. Getting only a 2nd to move down doesn't look as bad given the crappy draft we were trying to trade down in. As to the DT vs. CB argument, not sure why we had 'no business' taking a CB. We needed CB, still do. We needed DE as well, but I am glad we didn't take Jordan.I won't split hairs over the outdated trade chart. At the time I thought we should have done better than just an extra 2nd round pick. I do feel that Reggie screwed the pooch on what he ended up choosing with his #12 and #42 picks, Hayden & Watson. We were coming off our first 4-12 season, in full rebuild mode. There were some solid safe D-linemen available at #12. It was a time to be conservative, not take chances. Better teams can take chances on upside projects. We had no business taking a corner there. And I don't really care what bust OL went in front of our pick. What matters is what we did with our pick.
Its also possible that they don't feel Murray can adequately protect Carr, and is not worth the risk.Who knows what the coaching staff wants to do with the RB's? Yeah, if the "right player" is some sort of consensus "right player". Half the teams didn't have Hayden on their first round boards. And Reggie claims he would have taken him #3 overall. That seems silly to me. There are so many blue chip positions of need that also needed to be filled that fit the criteria of "consensus best man on the board". It's like in fantasy, we talk about value based drafting, we all want the best RB's or WR's in the first two rounds. A great defense can theoritically outscore a first round RB, but nobody is taking the Seattle defense in the first round. It only matters in the sense that people weren't dying to move up in a terrible draft. We needed good players, and still do. The position, to me, isn't that important if we get the player right, no?
It's a good point. I agree with you as far as Reggie's draft picks are concerned. Its too early to grade out his drafts yet. But what about his free agent moves? Honestly, the only free agent pick ups that have been solid IMO have been Woodson and Carlos Rogers. And I'll give him Howard, I think he's an upgrade at guard. But everyone else has been garbage.Hindsight is 20/20. Going into the 2012 draft Sheldon Richardson was just another name and Star Lotuleilei was surrounded by whispers of being lazy and having a heart condition. The DL I wanted was Sharrif Floyd and he hasn't done anything of note through 1.5 years.
Beyond all that, Hayden still has a chance of becoming an impact player. All we've seen of him is an (albeit crappy) injury shortened rookie season. Still too early to call him a bust IMO.
If Reggie is fired it should be for dumping Hue Jackson for Dennis Allen and Greg Olsen. Not for his drafts. 2012 was nothing but late picks. 2013 is incomplete (though Sio Moore looks good). And 2014 looks spectacular so far.
