Devil's Advocate
Love the heat we're putting on Fivehead so far. He's not comfortable at all.
Derek Carr trying to one up his big brother.....and succeeding.Carr throws the ball to an ineligible receiver.
The ineligible receiver decides to catch it, even though he's ineligible.
The ineligible receiver fumbles the ball away.Check please!
Seriously, remember the good old days when visiting colors got curb-stomped in the bathrooms? Now we're mingling with them! And the sea of orange in the crowd makes me want to vomit!
Still on the Carr bandwagon? The Jets are drafting at #3 and will definitely be looking for a QB. Trade with them and grab DE Leonard Williams plus pick up another pickIf they get the #1and I was GM, I the would take Mariota. I would then try to repeat history and trade Carr to Arizona for a 2nd round pick ala Kevin Kolb.
from Jets for the trade. Carr can play, we just need to have a defense that can actually put pressure on the QB and make some stops.
I think Carr can eventually be good, but if you get a chance to draft Mariota you do it.Every rookie QB looks good in all 16 games.
and Fitz on the other side. Or handing off to Adrian Peterson, if Calvin and Fitz weren't open. SMHSpeaking of what could have been, Rodgers could have been throwing the ball to CalJo.
I would settle for handing off to Murray to see what he can do, but with the enormous success McFadden and MJD have had running the ball how can we expect them to go away from them and for him to get any work.and Fitz on the other side. Or handing off to Adrian Peterson, if Calvin and Fitz weren't open. SMHSpeaking of what could have been, Rodgers could have been throwing the ball to CalJo.
LoL, this is funny. I have been saying the same things. We are only last in rushing with McFadden and MJD why not give Murray a game to see what he can do, it can't be any worse.I would settle for handing off to Murray to see what he can do, but with the enormous success McFadden and MJD have had running the ball how can we expect them to go away from them and for him to get any work.and Fitz on the other side. Nah. They first need to build from the inside out. OL, QB, etc. No reason to try and patch holes with a RB when the rest is a mess. Fix that first. RBs are a dime a dozen.Mark Ingram, anyone?
Agree that they need to build from the inside out and am an advocate for taking either the best OL or best WR at the top of the 2015 draft. But the thought of pairing Ingram with a top WR behind a young and upcoming line with the franchise QB already in place is pretty tantalizing and could help turn things around in a hurry.Nah. They first need to build from the inside out. OL, QB, etc. No reason to try and patch holes with a RB when the rest is a mess. Fix that first. RBs are a dime a dozen.Mark Ingram, anyone?
And that right there is the #1 pitfall for this team IMO. I think there is enough talent in place, including the high draft slot and incredible cap space, to make Oak an attractive job. Reggie, or his successor, just has to make the right choice/sales pitch. All is moot if we don't pony up for a legit head coach and OC.
It's not like it would cost them anything they don't have in abundance. He won't cost a draft pick, and they have a ton of cap space. Heck they can even take some calculated risks with cap space. They should be chasing any and all UFA that will pick up the phone.Nah. They first need to build from the inside out. OL, QB, etc. No reason to try and patch holes with a RB when the rest is a mess. Fix that first. RBs are a dime a dozen.Mark Ingram, anyone?
No one knows, just like 9/11 times 2,356.Question - the Raiders have run the ball less than any team since 1932, maybe in NFL history going back to 1919 or so. Why don't they at least try to run the ball more?
The fact that they not only signed Vincent 'Ive never done anything in the NFL' Brown but then give him playing time tells everyone what the correct answer should be.Poll: Should the Raiders bring back GM Reggie McKenzie?

Raiders CB D.J. Hayden strained his groin during Sunday's Week 10 loss to the Broncos.
Another week, more of the same for the oft-injured Hayden. This tweak isn't considered overly serious, but he's missed 15-of-25 games already since the Raiders surprisingly took him 12th overall in 2013. Raiders corners Carlos Rogers, TJ Carrie and Chimdi Chekwa are also banged up heading into a Week 11 game at San Diego.

I didn't think I needed to explain anything about Sparano. He's not going to be the HC after this year ends.Yes?The fact that they not only signed Vincent 'Ive never done anything in the NFL' Brown but then give him playing time tells everyone what the correct answer should be.Poll: Should the Raiders bring back GM Reggie McKenzie?

And while he signed Brown I am not sure he is the one dictating how much PT he gets.
Yeah, that's pretty obvious but I still contend that McKenzie isn't dictating how much PT Brown gets.I didn't think I needed to explain anything about Sparano. Didn't mean to imply that he is. He's the idiot that signed him. Sparano is the idiot that is putting him on the field, setting the team back further as better WRs get limited reps. These guys should not be making NFL decisions.Yeah, that's pretty obvious but I still contend that McKenzie isn't dictating how much PT Brown gets.I didn't think I needed to explain anything about Sparano. I am not convinced there are better WRs on the roster. Seems like a big group of players that occasionally flash but are otherwise incredibly inconsistent in all facets of the game. There isn't a legitimate #1 WR on the roster and there may not be a legitimate #2 WR on the roster.Didn't mean to imply that he is. He's the idiot that signed him. That seems like a very optimistic judgment on many levels. It suggests that you believe yourself to be a better evaluator of NFL talent based on an extremely limited amount of information, then the guys who get paid quite handsomely to judge NFL talent. I think it is fair to say that even the stupidest NFL coach (say Rich Kotite) probably has forgotten more about football then any of us ever knew, or will ever know so I hope you understand that I have more faith in even the worst NFL coach then even the smartest poster in the Shark Pool.lod01 said:I think Brice Butler can be that guy. There is something that is stopping them from putting him out there. They are stupid. That much is for sure. The evidence is overwhelming. They have no ability to judge talent.
The TD catch, which was a flat out hands catch of a bullet by Carr, last week is a catch that Vincent Brown would only dream of making. Holmes would drop it. Moore would run the wrong route. Only thing I have been able to find is something about practice habits.
I don't believe that getting a single win at this point is enough of a moral victory to make me want a win more than the first overall pick. What's more important? Avoiding 0-16 or the #1 overall pick? I'm not sure.
