I think that was a result of coaching a rookie. The key point was to protect the ball. He had a quick read to the back slipping into the flat, if that wasn't open eat the ball. I think he might have been able to use his legs to get a little more time out of the play. Regardless, no harm, no foul.

Are you gonna dismiss his performance, the week after 52-0, because the line blocked well? Funny, I didn't hear a lot of people dismissing his performance last week because the Rams were rushing the passer well, or that he was throwing to......these guys.

I just meant SF had one sack on the day and he mostly was able to sit in the pocket comfortably. Of course he's gonna look better than when St. Louis was molesting him on every play.

I actually think that was a good move by Carr. No one was open. Why force a turnover that would stop the clock or worse they run it back for a TD. By falling to the ground it forced the 49ers to use a timeout to stop the clock.Raider Nation said:

Yeah, we are talking about a completely different series. It was easy to misunderstand unless you look at the time-stamp of the post. Certainly, he did everything perfectly on the drive which took the game clock under 1:00, and SF had no timeouts. I'm talking about the drive before that near midfield. He was content to run around for a few seconds and they lay down, when a safe, short pass might have effectively ended the game.

1. TB (2-11)---@CAR, GBP, NOS----Two potential landmines here. Carolina can lose to anyone, and the Saints are a mystery. It'll be nerve-wracking next three weeks for Bucs homers.
2. TENN (2-11)---NYJ,@JAX, IND---Two winnable games, but even if they lose out, and keep a top two pick, do they like Mettenburger enough to pass on a QB?
3. JAX (2-11)---@BAL, TEN, @HOU---Titans at home seems very winnable, perhaps costing the Jags a potential trade windfall??
4. NYJ (2-11)---@TEN, NEP, @MIA---That last game, at MIami, jumps out at me. Just way too easy for me to picture the Jets losing to TEN, Jets fans celebrating, then Rex delivering a final gut punch with a win in Miami to end the season. In, fact, I'm calling this right now. Lose @TEN, win @MIA.
5. OAK (2-11)---@KC, BUF, @DEN---KC and Buff seem very possible. Kind of have a feeling that KC will be motivated for this game next week, and considering the last time the Raiders went on the road following a win (52-0), I really think the Buff game is their only shot to avoid a 2 win season.
You can easily draw up a scenario for each of these teams to finish with the top pick.

Not too interested in a trade for much more than a mid rounder.
Not that I don't think that Harbaugh isn't worth it, but I think one could make an argument that we don't have to trade for him. Any team that trades for Harbaugh, he's going to have to want to go there. If the talk about Harbaugh wanting to stay nearby is true, the combo of that, a young QB in Carr, and a ton of cap space makes me think he's not gonna wanna go anywhere else.
Harbaugh can force the 49ers to either fire him, or keep him for next year. He doesn't HAVE to agree to go to MIA or NYJ. If he knows he can walk right into the Raider job, why make the Raiders trade for him?
The 49ers might be able to hold things up, so maybe the Raiders throw a mid rounder to grease the skids, but a 2nd rounder? 1st rounder? Nah.

I have a lot of respect for Harbaugh and hope he crosses the bay next year and helps take the small core of talent in Oakland to the next level. He always seems to wear out his welcome, but there's no denying his proven track record of turning moribund franchises around and get them competitive in short order. A change if scenery is just what the doctor ordered. He would get at least a year of honeymoon, and time to build it his way, with the pressure off.
I don't see how the Niners can coerce a high draft pick for him. They have already let it be known that their relationship is toxic. In the end, I think the Raiders could offer up a third day pick as a gesture. But even then, that's diluting Harbaugh's 2015 draft class. He probably wants to just walk over here for free, but some small concession will have to be made.

I haven't watched the NBA in years, but what I remember of Larry Brown reminds me more of Jon Gruden TBH. Building around aging vets trying to short circuit a championship. Harbaugh has at least been able to develop young talent to build his core. They are similar in that they both have short shelf lives. But with our track record of coaching changes this millennium, complaining about that is splitting hairs.

I don't feel bad at all for the 49ers. Three straight trips to the NFC Championship. And that pathetic QB of thiers had a big role in that success. Think about all the string of pathetic QBs we have had and ask yourself if you still feel sorry for the whiners.

Thinking about WRs, it's a spot we need something. I'd have no problem adding Mike Williams, and making a play for Duron Carter. Won't cost anything in draft picks, and not even a lot of money.

Williams isn't the solution anymore than Holmes, Streater or Jones. Carter is an interesting prospect but quite honestly I would love to see the Raiders surround Carr with better talent. I would love it if they took Cooper in round 1 and Gordon in round 2.massraider said:

This is usually true of all the young, good ones.
There are a number of DLinemen this year that are definitely hitting the market because of cap space or circumstance. Suh and Hardy, for example.

By the way, in his weekly chat Corkran made it clear that Wisnewski is only staying if he is franchised. he was kind of vague, the only thing he said is that he KNOWS Wiz wants out.

Why doesn't Reggie at least offer a contract to Wiz now similar to what Mack received last year? This feels like a rerun of the Veldheer debacle last year. WTF?!?! If Wiz declines the offer then franchise his a$$, but do not let him walk! WTF?
Speaking of Reggie, on Sirius this morning Gannon said unequivocally that Reggie is gone at the end of the season. If the Raiders hire either Harbaugh or Gruden they will want "their guy" as the GM. Makes sense to me.
I am still hoping the Raiders go after Suh, which would address our porous run defense and add a major pass rush from the inside.

I wouldn't give Wiz Mack money. He is an average Center in my opinion. He doesn't deserve that kind of contract. I would rather let him walk then pay Wiz Mack money. I never did like Wiz at center. Franchis tag is ok, but not a long term big pay contract, no thank you.

Love Suh's talent but I question his heart at times and after his comments today I would be worried that his effort will decline after he gets his big payday.
Hardy is a PR nightmare but I bet he is an angry man who wants to take it out on opposing QBs, he might also come a little cheaper because of his substantial baggage.

Not interested in signing an overrated malcontent for top-5 center money. If Whiz wants to sign a deal commensurate with his talent/production, fine. Otherwise, see ya later.

Hardy I would take if the deal is low risk with outs for future seasons if he doesn't work out.
Focus on the draft, sign value free agents and save the blockbuster deals for true blue chip FAs with minimal/zero character concerns. Those types rarely hit the market, but sometimes they do because of salary cap issues.

Not a terribly inspiring hire there, hard to get excited about it. Seems like a safe play for a lot of 9-7 seasons and early playoff exits. Much better then the run of the last decade but is he really the type of guy who will get a team to the Super Bowl? Seems like the type of coach who would hire Greg Olson as his OC.
