BUF - jim schwartz (hc - det) replaces mike pettine

- pepper johnson comes over from pats as DL coach, bringing spikes with him -- they also bring in keith rivers, and draft preston brown in the 3rd

AFC NORTH

CIN - paul guenther (lb - cin) replaces mike zimmer -- DE m johnson gone, CB drafted in 1st

CLE - mike pettine (dc - buf) named HC and brings buf lb coach jim o'neil over as DC, replacing ray horton

- whitner replaces ward, dansby replaces dq jax, CB taken in 1st

AFC SOUTH

HOU - romeo replaces wade phillips as DC

- clowney taken with first pick,

TEN - wisenhunt takes over as HC, bringing in horton to replace jerry gray as DC

- woodyard added to lb stable

NFC EAST

DAL - marinelli replaces kiffen as DC

- they lose ware but draft another demarcus in the 2nd

NFC NORTH

MIN - george edwards (buf 2010=11) replaces alan williams as DC

- they lose jared allen, possibly opening things up for everson griffen

DET - teryl austin (db - balt) replaces gunther cunningham as DC -- delmas gone

NFC SOUTH

TB - lovie smith replaces schiano as HC, bringing leslie frazier (dc/hc - min) with him to replace bill sheridan as DC

- they replace revis with verner

ATL - speculation of more 3-4 from nolan

Although coach Mike Smith continues to preach defensive multiplicity without revealing much detail, the Falcons will have more of a 3-4 look in 2014. Believe that. It was obvious when players started talking about it immediately after last season. Then the Falcons added bulky nose tackle Paul Soliai and defensive end Tyson Jackson up front. Drafting defensive end Ra'Shede Hageman was further confirmation.

NFC WEST

STL - gregg williams takes his job back as DC

- DT aaron donald taken with 13th pick to pair with brockers, DB lamarcus joyner taken in 2nd

Coaching and scheme changes and commentary

We've done more features in the offseason than ever before this year, so I wrote the scheme change discussion and table into a full feature. It's free to all Insiders and doesn't require a paid subscription. I'm hoping that those that follow our email updates but aren't interested in keeping up with forum threads are more likely to see it this way.

I also linked it in the first post of the Offseason Features thread, along with a few others, so that the forum regulars see when it's posted and have a place to discuss if they wish.
