***2015 Breeders' Cup*** Anyone? Beuller? Hello? (1 Viewer)

Have we just completely lost the passion around here? Remember the glory days when we'd talk about the Breeders' Cup for days prior to the big races? Posts full of unbridled enthusiasm, inspired longshot selections and unfettered glee at winning a race.

Well, I'm bringing those glory days back. If I have to do it alone, so be it. It will be a party of one, but got dam it, I will be wagering and I will be watching.

Who's with me?

Just bad timing for me this year with it falling on Halloween

Also don't really have the spare change to put into the hardest day of racing right now either

I will tune into the classic tomorrow... Lack of speed could make this an easy romp for AP

NBCSN will cover Friday at the Breeders' Cup for three hours beginning at 3 p.m. ET with host Tom Hammond, analysts Jerry Bailey and Randy Moss, plus handicappers Bob Neumier and Eddie Olczyk. Larry Collmus will call the races.

The first race on Friday is the Juvenile Turf at 3:30 p.m

The Las Vegas Dirt Mile at 4:10 p.m.

The Juvenile Fillies Turf at 4:50 p.m.

The final race on Friday is the Longines Distaff at 5:35 p.m.

Dentist must be right. Horse racing is dying.
Maybe they should adopt some of his changes? I'm particularly fond of his idea to replace the jockey whips with swords and publicly executing the horse and jockey that come in last.

That sounds a little harsh. There should at least be a free set of steak knives for finishing 2nd.

Interesting you say that. One of his other ideas to improve ratings was to let fans throw steak knives at the far turn.

Was all set to bet Beholder , but as you can see she has been scratched from the big race. :(

Still going against the public favorite, just not sure who with yet.

63 days off and the way AP looked last time out at 35 cents on the dollar does not inspire confidence.

11am eastern start for the 1st race today, like #2 Lewys Vaporizer @ 3-1.

12:05 3rd - #10 Songbird @7-5

1:25 5th - #8 Stonetastic @ 5-1

Jump to the big 11th race (5:35), still trying to beat AP. Longshot time with #7 Smooth Ruler @ 15-1.

Play these at your own risk but best of luck to all. :deadhorse:

Last year, I think I was the only one betting every race and posting my wagers in here. The results were not good, and that's a charitable description. I flushed my entire Twinspires bankroll. So today, I will be watching and rooting for my fellow FBGs to score big.

I had about $25 in my spires account

$2 win on Stephanie's Kitten

$5 loss on Private Zone

My capping has consisted of "hey I've heard of that horse before". This is much better than the typical bloodbath in previous years

I'll probably just shove all in on AP. I just don't see the pace setting up for Tonalist or Honor Code or Keen Ice to close into

Maybe Frosted tries to challenge him..that will definitely end badly for Frosted but could take enough out of Pharoah

Just got back from Meadowlands...

Keen Ice / Frosted Ex box

Keen Ice / Pharoah / Gleneagles Tri box

Tonalist / Keen Ice / Pharoah Tri box

Tonalist / Keen / Frosted / Pharoah SFC box

Pharoah / Hard Aces Ex box :)

$2 on Hard Aces to win :)

$2 on Pharoah to win for a memento since I have each of the Triple Crown winning bet slips too

Got a little under $100 in the street to hold me over til the World Series game starts tonight. Got lots of candy and booze on-hand too, this is gonna be a great day!

ETA: and the Irish / Temple game

I had a couple winners. Only significant one was $20 exacta 13-12 straight in the juvenile for $1900+. Didn't have the 6 with Pharoah though friends did. What a great horse. Great racing. Paul LoDuca's best bet of the weekend was the 10 at 10-1 in the sprint. Everything sorta figured. No huge surprises. Some bad luck with the 3 on the grass. Tons the best with the stumble but Kitten ran tough

Liam's Map winning so easily despite a god-awful trip was embarrassing for the connections. A horse that good had no business running in the Dirt Mile.

Pharoah looked fantastic. By matching Volponi's margin, and going wire-to-wire, it's easily the most convincing win in Classic history. It's awesome that we got to see this horse continue to run after winning the TC.
