**2015 MLB Season Thread: This is how the chapter ends (1 Viewer)

So the Phillies can't be a real team, right?

Did you guys see Sandberg was trying to call to the bullpen to get Francouer out, but the bullpen phone was off the hook lol
Utley didn't seem too happy with those shenanigans.
I feel bad for him. Hope they trade him so he can get away from the clown show.
hes the one who keeps saying he doesn't wanna be traded
Yup. Maybe this is a ploy to get him to re-consider.

They're real. And they're craptacular.

Though they didn't even warrant a "Bert Jones hits Joe Washington in the flat for a 25-yard score and Toni Linhart's 4 FG easily overcome the Eagles, who are only able to muster a Nick Mike-Mayer field goal."

Any Desmond owners? He's a full time bench player for me since Correa got called up. Anyone think he's going to turn it around or should I try to cash in on name value? I could use a pitcher if I could get like a Carlos Carrasco type.

I mean, give it a shot, but I'd be stunned if you could get someone of Carrasco's caliber for Desmond right now. His ratios haven't been great, but he's at least giving his owners K's. I think you need to set your sights lower, finding another dismal early season performer with high expectations coming into it. Desmond's periph's aren't much different than last year, but he was also showing hack tendencies and signs of decline coming into this season. Unless he's hiding an injury he will probably improve, but there's really no reason to expect him to start running more so as long as the Nats keep him buried in the batting order, and he's obviously given them no reason to slide him up, he's going to be very limited even with some positive regression.

:lmao:

Chase Utley is sporting the worst BA and OBP on the team, and only Ruiz has a lower SLG. #### that guy.

Yeah I thought that was an odd post. Who in their right mind would trade FOR Utley at this point in his career? The only team dumb enough to make a trade for him would be the Phillies.

Go easy, guy.

Yes. Yes you should.

BP had s good article on Desmond today. He's costing himself tens of millions of dollars after turning down $107 million last year.

His BABIP is fine, his ld rates are fine, but he isn't seeing hard stuff when he's ahead in the count anymore. I've never really been a fan of his but I couldn't have imagined he'd be this bad. Throw in the fact that the Nats aren't running this year, and you have an average SS at a horribly thin position.

I'd buy low for sure on him, but I'm not giving up a #2 pitcher to get him. That's not low enough.

Does MLB.tv have an option to search by a player name and see all his at-bats and/or pitches/innings? And/or to pull up like specific segments of games? Like NFL GameRewind lets you search a player's name and see all of his plays in sequence?

Deal right now for the rest of the season for 39.99 or 49.99 (for premium). Wouldn't get to see the Phillies, which is also a plus.

It's almost criminal the trade i made two weeks ago involving Desmond

I traded Gomez (hurt?), Desmond, and Hamels for Stanton in a keeper league and all the contracts expire this year except stanton

Carlos Correa is 3 for 4 with a homer, double, and 3 RBI tonight. His only out was a 105mph laser right at Brandon Barnes.

Not sure about the other rookies sans Bryant, but Correa is the real McCoyrrea.

Whoever runs that 0-10 runs pool might need to start extending it to 20.

Cleveland fans already down and out after last night get a kick in the balls tonight.

Hitting ballpark No 30 this weekend in Kansas City for Royals-Sox. Heard great things about the place.

But first, heading up to Omaha tonight to check out the World Series ... TCU vs. LSU.

How bad are the Phils? MLBNetwork and Todd Zolecki tweeting that Phils' starters 0-14 with 5.89 ERA since 5/24. Starters from every other team have at least 5 wins in that timeframe.

But don't fret, Sean O'Sullivan takes the hill today.

Start Frenchy!

Nice! It's Big Slick Weekend, and a lot of comedians/actors with Missouri/Kansas ties are in town doing fundraisers for children's charities. If you're going to Kauffman tomorrow night, there's a celebrity softball game at 5:00 before the Royals game. Rob Riggle, Paul Rudd, Jason Sudeikis, Eric Stonestreet, and David Koechner are the Big Slick hosts and will be playing.

How do you guys value Strasburg right now in a keep 12?

I'm looking to acquire, do you think its possible to buy low-ish? Guys I'd be throwing at the owner would be like Mookie, Ian Desmond, Longoria, and Devon Travis. Any of those straight up get me close?

I didn't care about the All-Star game and its controversy. The home field rule is universally considered to be stupid. I got to thinking tonight though that it's pretty ####ty to do to guys who may be having once a career seasons. I think the MLB needs to go to a format where players vote starters and fans vote for one representative per team... Or just anything that is better then this season.

Was at the Yankees-Marlins game tonight. Don't think Dyson was walking ARod on purpose. Seems like he just got a bit wild in a big time spotlight. Any other opinions/explanations?

Those pitches weren't close, he was very wild.

Of course, most Yankee fans won't see that.

I don't think it does. I've never seen something like that but I could be wrong.

I did activate the mlb.tv app on the roku, which gives you the access to the free game of the day (not sure why I never thought about that before). It was like the 8th when I turned it on and It let me go to any half-inning that I wanted. Not as good as a player search, but a decent option.

Two of the better back to back performances in many many years by Max. He had a perfect game in his last start until early in the 8th I believe

According to Tom Boswell of the Washington Post the last pitcher to lose a perfect game on a hitter batter was in 1908. Tells you how amazing it was

im assuming he means with 2 out in the 9th?

How big of a league would you need to be in to consider keeping A-Rod?
Oh God
How big of a league would you need to be in to consider keeping A-Rod?
150 keepers total? 200?
Is .270, 25 & 90 reasonable?
I keep hearing shuke's voice in my head: "asymptomatic."

Good luck with this.
Is .270, 25 & 90 reasonable?
is the last number, games missed? Then yeah seems reasonable.

It's not like I'm Monday Morning Quarterbacking this one:

I honestly think you folks are sleeping on him. PED's or not, he's one of the greatest players ever. Now he stews for a year, working out twice a day like a madman, planning his return to greatness. I'm just trying to help you guys get a leg up on the competition.

And I can't stand him, BTW. He's a phony. The entire "Oh, look how humble I am now" routine is a joke. The rest of his career speaks to what kind of a guy he is.
