Not a fan of the game that much but I watched every game of this finals. Great television and very satisfying Game 7. Congrats Cavs fans.
I know it's not as glamorous as a 50 year title drought, but I'll put DC's 18 years without reaching a conference championship (despite having teams in all four sports for most of that time) up against any depressing stories or numbers the folks in Buffalo or Minneapolis can come up with.So who takes most tortured sports city?
I don't about that. Can Lebron do this?Definitely bumps Lebron up a notch. He's probably firmly ahead of Tom Chambers at this point.
Lucky for the Warriors, the whole 'Cleveland is a disaster of a sports town' is overshadowing the talk of their collapse.what i was thinking about this morning in my car to work: bigger win on the Cavs part or biggest choke job by the Warriors? i keep coming back to the Warriors here with the historic regular season, regular season MVP, and up 3-1. all the credit in the world to LBJ and cleveland, of course, but holy cow that is an epic collapse!

Their luck really never ends.

he really just looked terrified the whole nightCurry last scored at 6:56.
That sounds like a lot of work broYou can post links to them.
Good point. I'll put him somewhere between Tom Chambers and Kiki Vandeweghe.
It will be interesting to see if it carries over into the regular season. He had an unbelievable year that just didn't seem sustainable, and yet he kept it up the whole year. Does the house of cards come tumbling down?he really just looked terrified the whole night
don't doubt that he is/was dealing with some sort of injury that limited him in the playoffs. curious to find out the severity (if any).It will be interesting to see if it carries over into the regular season. He looked really cool throwing that behind the back pass out of bounds though.Curry last scored at 6:56.
I've never liked the Dubs thing, but Draymond is really the only player in this series I disliked.Even if I didn't love watching Lebron (I love phenoms who live up the hype and he's basically the defining athlete of my generation) the whole "Dubs" thing would have been enough to root against the Warriors. So lame. Good news it that most of the guys in the rotation are all totally unlikable for a variety of reasons, (only exceptions are Igoudala, Bogut, Barobosa and Livingston) so it was easy to take joy out of their historic collapse
Congrats to Cavs fans.
I'm not sure it's possible to NOT hate Varejao.I've never liked the Dubs thing, but Draymond is really the only player in this series I disliked.
Good point, that was an oversight. Seeing Draymond have such a nice game last night clouded my judgement.I'm not sure it's possible to NOT hate Varejao.
This.... this was awesome!
If Goodell was NBA Commish he would fine everybody for that
his failed flop-for-a-foul attempt 3 times in a row in that last game was disgustingI'm not sure it's possible to NOT hate Varejao.
Certainly couldn't cut it as an NFL QB.If Goodell was NBA Commish he would fine everybody for that
the sloots must have been lined up around the block in Cavs gear for that party
Just heard he wrote a book called "Everybody Fumbles". Awesome.
No, because there is no way that type of defense is played in the regular season. Curry will probably be the MVP next year again, or right up there in the voting at the very least. It would be a mistake to make any sort of significant change to that roster. They are ready to roll again, easily. It will be interesting to see if it carries over into the regular season. I love Byner.Just heard he wrote a book called "Everybody Fumbles". Awesome.
Meh. Lebron always has an old vet or two waiting to play with him.No, because there is no way that type of defense is played in the regular season. Cavs will be interesting. Very interesting. Good luck to anyone who can accurately predict that opening day starting lineup. I hope JR comes back. I hope they keep Love rather than trade him for basically nothing but cap space (unless it means getting Durant or something like that of course). Jefferson will be gone which sucks.
The got rid of him because they thought the fans would never forgive him, but pretty much all Browns fans love him. I was rooting for him when he won with the Redskins.I love Byner.
Yeah, but they aren't all the same. Miller and Marion last year brought nothing while Frye and Jefferson each contributed during the playoff run.Meh. Lebron always has an old vet or two waiting to play with him.
No trades? I'm pretty sure Scola, Asik or Donuts with impact the lottery somehow.1. Phi - Simmons
2. LAL - Ingram
3. Boston - Held
4. Phoenix - Chriss
5. Minnesota - Brown
6. New Orleans - Dunn
7. Denver - Murray
8. Sacramento - Bender
9. Toronto - Labissiere
10. Milwaukee - Sabonis
11. Orlando - Ellenson
12. Utah - D. Murray
13. Phoenix - Poeltl
14. Chicago - D. Davis
Agree with the rest of your post, but the bolded is implying a false narrative. 21 players played for the Cavs in 2013-14; only 5 of them opened the 2014-15 season with the Cavs -- Irving, Thompson, Dellavedova, Varejao, and Waiters -- and Waiters was traded away in midseason. Irving was just 21 in 2013-14 and Thompson was 22, so both of them are still improving. Meanwhile, the Cavs added not only Lebron, but also Love, JR Smith, Mozgov, Marion, Shumpert, Miller, and James Jones in 2014-15.6 straight title appearances. Two with the worst team in the league prior to his arrival (and a team that fell apart after he left). Any argument about anyone but Magic, Jordan, or Bill Russell being ahead of him all time is just silly.
Draft express has Boston taking Dunn, and that seems to be consistent with some of the buzz I've been reading.1. Phi - Simmons
2. LAL - Ingram
3. Boston - Held
4. Phoenix - Chriss
5. Minnesota - Brown
6. New Orleans - Dunn
7. Denver - Murray

He certainly didn't dive enough to warrant that kind of cash.I wonder if Delly cost himself money by not playing in the finals. A couple weeks ago I was thinking he could get $10-15m but I'm questioning that now.
He seems too Tyreke Evans-ish for me.Lot of buzz around here about the Celtics taking Brown at 3. Taking a chance on an uber athletic guy that isn't quite skilled yet worries me. The ceiling seems high but so does the risk.
Where is the guy who laughed at me for saying the cavs had solved curry and might win 4 straight when they won game 3?
you predicted the Warriors would win last night. Agree, it sounds like they think Brown can rebound and defend in the league right now which is what they need. Maybe they take advantage of those skills for now while the others developI think if you're going to take an "upside" guy it's Chriss, not Brown.
Like I said not a huge fan of the move if thats what they do. Enjoy second place.![]()
