2015 NBA Thread: I felt a great disturbance in the trolls, as if millions of voices suddenly cried out in terror and were suddenly silenced. (3 Viewers)

This was you, three days ago, suggesting that Green would be either unaware of the consequences of additional acts in the Finals or unable to adjust his behavior accordingly.
People act differently when the consequences become more severe.  Green was able to control himself for seven critical games after the Adams incident knowing very well that a suspension was imminent if he acted crazy again.  Obviously my opinion of him changed when he knew the consequences and still couldn't control himself.

I missed the game last night. I'm assuming Kerr sat Draymond to save him from suspension to have him for game 7? Got to be a huge advantage for GS with Green coming off a week of rest.

No? That didn't happen?

To me, it is kind of like Brexit.   Writers can write what they want. People can say what they want.  But would you really bet against THIS Golden State team at home in a do or die game, given what they went through vs. OKC?   I believe the line is still GS -4.5/-5 and rightfully so.
I think sharp action will be on both sides of that line for this game.

No need.  His vitals were checking out better than they had all season.

He did get Game 3 off too, ya know...

I actually went to my first hockey game during the Calder Cup Finals. It was a lot of fun watching the Western Conference's 3rd place team beat the Eastern Conference's 3rd place team 1-0 in OT. Dunno why people in here crap on the sport.

Lebron goes for 50/15/15 but Golden State still wins.  He takes the loss like a normal person rather than throw his equipment at a fan in the front row.  Haters hold that against him because he doesn't have enough heart or whatever the reason is now.  Still keeps his nickname.

And someone else who wasn't as good wins the series MVP despite everyone with eyeballs knowing Lebron was far and away the best player - again - in the series.

In the 10 games Lebron has scored 50+ points, his team has won 8 of them, losing the first 2 then winning the past 8

edit: 9 of those 50+ point games have been on the road

Nobody would disagree with you dude. It happened once like 50 years ago. They will never do that again in the modern era. But nobody would or could disagree with you, so stand straight and pull your pants back up.

LOL at all the hyperbole on Lebrons greatness. He loses and hes a joke and he wins and he's "top 2 to 5".

Win or lose, he's where he will always be, just barely outside the top 10.

Honest question...couldn't throwing the mouthpiece and hitting someone be considered assault (simple battery)?

You guys were right. I was slightly worried about a Steph suspension last night--and those worries were wiped away this morning.  Props to you guys for calling that. I read that Kyrie is good to play--but haven't heard much about Iggy.  I have to say that I am rooting for GS so I'm hoping that Iggy is good enough  to contribute at least 20 minutes.

For anybody who cares (and my guess that's probably nobody--but whatever)--my prediction is a close game.  Even if Iggy plays--my guess is that he'll be physically limited.  Once I  mix that with the  absense of Bogut--I feel like GS defense is weakened enough to make "pulling away" too far pretty difficult.  My prediction is a pretty tight game into the 4th.  Curry and Klay will play slightly better than Lebron/Kyrie in the 4th and will win the title---and the media will say that Lebron got "out-clutched" (which is total BS).

I'd be interested in seeing a few game predictions if any other posters care to put their thoughts up.

I disagree. Prior to this year's playoffs, IMO there were a clear top 11 players in NBA history (not in order): Jordan, Kareem, Magic, Bird, Russell, Wilt, Duncan, Oscar, Hakeem, Shaq, Lebron. If I had to rank Lebron, I would have put him at #8, ahead of Oscar, Hakeem, and Shaq.

I felt entering this year's playoffs that Lebron did not measure up to the 7 others I had ranked ahead of him. Yes, he has two titles, had made the Finals 6 times (before this year), and has 4 MVPs and many other honors. But in my mind, he did not measure up to those I had ranked ahead of him, because most of them had more titles, most of them were better than 33% in their Finals opportunities, most/all of them had harder roads to the Finals, etc. I also felt Lebron did not have enough defining moments.

If he leads his team from 3-1 down to a title against a 73 win team, having come back to Cleveland because of his ties there with the intent of bringing the city its first major title in 50 years, that is as compelling as it gets. It adds another title, and it is one of the strongest defining moments ever. To me, that absolutely elevates him into the top 5, moving him up a tier in the all-time greats.

If it seems like splitting hairs, that's because we are talking about ranking the top 10 players of all-time.

That would be a Cleveland-y finish.  Can almost picture LeBron in Game 7, starting his drive to the hoop down one with seven seconds left, and dribbling it off his foot and out of bounds.
Down 1, 7 secs left, Lebron shakes Iggy, has a clear path to the basket, but instead kicks it to JR Smith for a contested 28 ftr, which gets nothing but backboard as time expires.....

^Still a sizable gap between Jordan and Lebron even if Cleveland wins the title. But winning it would certainly put Lebron in position to potentially catch Jordan.

Agreed.  2016 Basketball isn't the same as 1996 or even 1986 basketball.  While prime LeBron would have been a force and maybe even the best player in 1996, the actions he displays in 2016 make him a chump by that era's standards.

I think people have nostalgia goggles firmly placed on their faces when they remember.ber the 90's and 80's. There were a lot of bad teams. The Knicks were considered a top team in the 90's. The 2016 Raptors would dominate them.

I can't ####### wait for Sunday night.  There are going to be some terrible hot-takes and maybe some Tim live blogging, but the game itself is such a delightful setup.

whoa... the Pat Ewing, Starks, Oakley Knicks??!? You really thinking the 2016 Raptors would beat them in a 7 game series?

You're a madman. Charles Oakley alone produces more testosterone today at 52 years old then the entire Toronto roster.
