that looks like a great trade for Nashville, but I like the increased opportunity for Seth Jones too.

Blue line was thin. Weal is a good prospect but not a lot of opportunity for him there.I really don't get this trade for the Kings. Were they really that desperate for Schenn? He won't be around forever. But Jones will get more opportunity away from Weber and Josi, and I think Torts will love him. Saad is an All Star btw

So, he's been riding that top pair pretty heavily. I didn't realize Jones was already getting a lot of PP time in Nashville on the 2nd unit so maybe that won't change too much. Anyway, tough to lose Johansen and Columbus will probably regret it soon enough but at least they got a player back who can help them a lot right now and will very likely develop into an elite #1 dman soon enough.
Feel bad for the fans of that team though. They can't really seem to catch a break. Auston Matthews would be really huge for them.

I agree that you probably take the other two first but hats off to the Hawks' scouts. JE looking good.
Yeah, this is true but Panarin isn't simply riding Kane's coattails a la Versteeg.
Panarin for me today because to get McDavid or Eichel they would have had to have sucked like they did years ago. In this case, they won the Cup last year and still end up with Panarin.
If I had to rebuild a team and needed someone as a cornerstone, probably CM or JE in that situation. So I think I understand what Hawks is saying too.

Oh he's not riding Kane's coattails IMO. He is someone who can finish what Kane feeds him and can feed Kane as well. It's fun to watch.

Ducks last year played way over their heads, this year they are just horrific. Truth is somewhere in the middle I'd guess, but this is hard to watch even for a guy who does not think fondly of the quack.

I think this is one of many reasons.
They did start off 1-7-2 and are now at .500.
D has been solid.
Getz is playing hurt IMO.
Kesler, Cogliano, Hagelin and Silfberburg have been horrid on offense,
So many others in major slumps. It's bizarre.
Last night was bizarre. They totally dominated first period with 18-8 shots and were down 1-0.
Ducks are a trap team now. Sad times.
